    The worst part of PIE is that it doesn’t matter if you touch your pimple or not, its still gonna leave a red mark. And then if you try and squeeze the pimple a whole bunch of blood comes out.😢

      As far as I know PIE is more common with lighter skin and appears because of the dilation of blood vessels instead of the production of melanin related to PIH. That‘s why PIH turns brown/dark whereas PIE looks like redness that just wont go away. Not a professional though so you‘d be better off researching cause I might be wrong :)

    In case anyone sees this comment, know that Differin and Cetaphil are both owned by Galderma. If you are looking at any of the Cetaphil products that would be targeted for acne, look first to see if Differin has the same type of product. For example, Differin also has a redness relieving night moisturizer which is the exact same formulation as the Cetaphil, but is $2-3 cheaper.

    • @annag125
      @annag125 2 года назад +17

    I've been loving Faded by Topicals. It has centella, kojic acid, azelaic acid, niacinamide, tranexamic acid, and licorice root. It smells really really bad but the smell fades quickly. I've been using it twice a week for about a month and my PIH has noticeably improved and new blemishes from masks aren't nearly as red and irritated. I'm going to start using it three times a week.

    I always take Dr. Dray's advice and like 2 months ago, my skin was so horrible! I started to get cystic acne and very red spots on my jaw line and cheeks! I used to Cetaphil redness night time moisturizer and omg! My skin got better within a week of using it consistently every night! Now I'm just battling a little bit of dark marks on my cheeks but overall, my skin looks so much better than it did 2 months ago! She never fails! Thank you Dr. Dray!

    I find Azelaic acid makes my melasma, PIH and also PIE from acne much much worse. It even makes my acne more angry. It’s a shame because I always see it as a HG. I tried many formulations even the milder potassium derivative. Liquorice root is actually a dark horse and has helped PIE and PIH immensely. I also find leave on 2% salicylic acid to also be really helpful too. Great video as always 😊

    ive been using the niacinamide from the ordinary and my redness has gone down significantly. my skin is sensitive so i cant use strong products or else the redness and itchiness will just flare right back up (i tried a benzoyl peroxide wash and my face did NOT like that) but niacinamide never stings and is very soothing. also using a green tea and centella toner, some HA, ceramide based moisturizer, zinc based sunscreen, and some mild vitamin c, its really really helped. i have scars but i want to see how much i can get them to go away with a good skin care routine before i try a procedure.
