I swear there is something About Zatoichi that I love more then any other Samurai films I just cant put my finger on it.
I love them too!I 75 years young and for me it's about honor.good over bad,principles,no cars no phones,humility all those values I respect,he is humorous,brave,blind and woman absolutely adore him,but he leaves them to carry on his lonely travels it's great escapism from this modern world.

Shintaro Katsu's Zatoichi(1962-1989) will always be the best. Cant beat the original
Anyway, This was a Great episode. The disabled sister is so sweet and adorable, i really wished Ichi stayed with her after Ichi put down his sensei due to the senseis greed for money and power. I wonder now whos gonna protect her

Me esta encantando esta segunda temporada. En la 1ra muchas historias se sentían un poco repetitivas, pero en esta segunda temporada se nota que están mucho mejor trabajadas 👌👍
It always bugs me when I hear a part of the soundtrack that is familiar but not quite one I recognize. In this series, whenever there's a romantic scene between a man and woman, the same song starts (eg, here at 14:10, when his sensei's sister sits down to talk with Ichi). I finally remembered the song it reminds me of. It's not identical, but similar to "Superstar", a hit song for the Carpenters in 1971, with lyrics that start....

Z' was a warm hearted series - that shows no matter what disability you have - someone is out to destroy you. Yet he over came many of those who set out to destroy Him.....

Last week on "Zatoichi Chronicles" we had runaway brides, Zatoichi running from the popo, and alas the famous cane was missing. He still was able to make it do what it do! Stay tuned😂😂😂😂😂
This reminds me of "New Tale of Zatoichi", although the ending has changed as well as other details like he didn't call out his master by name and the son of the wealthy man was murdered. I wonder why they recreate this condensed version for television?
Zatoichi lost his sword cane, in the last episode, yet magically has it again, this episode. So much for continuity
The one he has in this episode is the one the old man gave him in the previous episode. When he gave it to him, he himself said that it was just as good as the one he had. She just needed to be sharpened and that could have been done at any blacksmith shop on her way. If you look closely, the wood of the handle and scabbard are a darker color than the one he had before, so it is not the same sword that he lost, but a new one that he made with the blade that the old man gave him in the previous episode.
He probably went back to the jail and recovered it before leaving the town

Ichi's Life is so full of Tragedy. He Kowtows to the Samari, to the Japanese to lose Face is the worst possible of all Loss! He sadly could have had a Loving Wife! His Teacher who walked the stright path, was a Hypocrite in the end, He gives up his life! His Sister loses everything, at the cost of Pride, because of her brother! Zatoichi remains a man of Honor! He may not have Sight, but He sure as Hell has what they do not have! Here You have a true Hero! It is Idiotic that Hollywood hasn't understood that this what the World needs. Not Superhuman Strength, or Powers, but a Human Being; who gives his all, and remains a Humble Man!

Zatoichi as an example of knightly nobility, simplicity, humility and meekness before fate. He punishes the arrogant and hypocritical who lie, he breaks pride and restores justice. He is a lifelong wandering stranger in his own country. A hero who is missing in modern films@@davidgriego278

These movies and that's what I feel they are like give us an insight about human nature is really like the writers and the actors are the fines in the character of itchy I feel it gives us all something to strive for especially if you're a martial artist

I don't think so. Ichi had gained much more experience since he was a student under this teacher, but let the teacher win during the school demonstration in order for the teacher to save face in front of his students. When it came to a real fight, Ichi is faster and stronger, so he won fairly.

The Sensei could have easily cut Ichi’s hand completely off but he stopped his blade just enough to break the skin . Do you think Ichi could beat the guy that taught him that easily. That’s why they showed the strike with bokken as he was leaving the village. Ichi know his Sensei spared him

I don't get it. The boss arranged for the meeting to release the son, for the $ for teacher, extorted from the father, then the boss killed the son and father. Teacher known to be superior swordsman, then kills boss... The boss must have known teacher would not like that and attack boss for killing son and father,... and must have known teacher would attack boss for that... And just to save 15o ryo. Stupid plan. Couldn't be that dumb. Then Ichi has to kill teacher becuz he was going to use blood money, but it was boss's doing that made money bloody. Also teacher having killed boss, could have access to boss's money, since he is dead. What am I missing?

No - the money belonged to the family of the merchant & son killed by the boss. The money needed to go back to them - they had to borrow from many people to pay that ransom. You are right about the stupid plan, I guess the boss was betting that the teacher would just go along with everything to get the money and then the boss would have this secret over him. The teacher would have to either go along or commit seppuku. He thought teacher was too samurai to kill him AND keep the money. The big plot hole was the sister. I guess she's just screwed and will end-up working at a brothel.
What happened is that the boss believed that he was not a completely honorable swordsman for having gone to ask a yakuza boss for money, so he assumed to me that he would be willing to do anything for that money in his desperation to become a samurai Furthermore, the master was not a samurai, but a ronin, and as far as I know, these used to work for organized crime or were hired by them. Another reason the boss must have believed that the teacher wouldn't care where the money he needed came from. On the teacher's side, he just trusted the boss too much, blinded by his desperation to get that money and finally fulfill his dream of being a samurai like his father. It wasn't until he saw what the boss did to realize the disgrace and mistake he had made by asking a criminal for money. That's why he kills him. Regarding Ichi, he didn't kill his teacher because of what you say. Ichi killed him because he attacked him and thought that he was just a bandit that he ran into on his way. Ichi does not realize that he was his teacher until after killing him, when he relates the wound on his hand, which is the same as the wound his teacher gave him in training.
@@vash2086 Ichi knew that it was his teacher as he said that he does not walk the righteous path either. And it was the teacher who did not want Ichi to be with his sister because Ichi's dirty yakuza past.

Season 2 is just not as good. There - I said it. I hate myself for it, but it is true. I don't like the music and storylines are not as well constructed.
Keep up for season 3 and 4, I promise it you'll enjoy it 👀 (s4 is my personal favorite)
