Taking advantage of shooting local is huge. I'd love to get out of town more, but having a couple of parks in Gilbert and Chandler makes for some good times with birds and coyotes.
Great video Mike. Just got the Z9 this week for wildlife and you’re right it’s practice, practice, practice. The next few weeks will be filled with trips to the beach, the bird sanctuaries and the zoo.
Great video. question. around 3:38, what lens are you using? and what lens do you recommend for a starter to wildlife? I use the Nikon z7II. If I really like wildlife, I will consider the Z9.
Thanks Wesley! That is the f Mount 200-400 f4 lens I rented for a trip to Yellowstone. I think it costs around $6k usd. Definitely not a starter lens haha. I would recommend getting the Nikon 200-500 f5.6 to start. You can use the ftz adapter with the z7ii. It’s a cheap lens for what you get. An absolutely amazing lens. You could go with the 100-400 f4.5-5.6 like I have, but it’s also $2.7k. It’s a great landscape/wildlife combo lens but it isn’t cheap.
@@PereaPhotography great! Thank you! I was thinking about the 100-400. But is that enough for birds? It will be a great option for me, because I also do landscapes.
Putting a full frame camera in DX mode does not change your F stop of your lens. All it does is change your field of view. In the example you gave, your F4 lens is still F4 with the field of view equivalent to 450 mm.
CORRECTION: Changing a full frame camera to DX Mode does not change the minimum aperture. Sorry for the mistake 🙏🏼
This was a great list of tips and reminders in a succinct format. Thanks!
Yes, ALWAYS carry a pair of binoculars. It can make you look like you are appreciating nature rather than stopping to catch your breath. 🤠 Great tips!
Great tips! I’ll definitely refer back to this video often.
Thanks for watching!!
Great, great tips Mike
concise commentary; interesting presentation
Great video! Lots of great places out here in AZ.

Awesome!! That’s an amazing camera Jackie. Definitely jealous!
@@PereaPhotography With a huge learning curve. I’m going to Yellowstone in January so hopefully I’ll be somewhat ready by then.
Great tips, looking foward to more on wildlife.
Thanks for watching Jeff!
Solid advice, well done!
Thanks Michael!
Hey Chris, way to spot the poop💩👍
🤣
Good synopsis. To emphasize; “don’t be a jerk”!
I’m life and photography 👊🏼

@@Wesleyy-87 no problem! And I have a video going deeper on the 100-400. It’s a full review video. For birds I’d say 500-800mm is a bit better.
Most important: Keep the bears happy. They can run and climb faster than you can. Excellent tips! Branching out to a new niche? 🦌👍🍻
Haha gotta keep the bears happy! And I’ve been shooting wildlife for a while now. But yeah I’m going start adding it more to the channel!

Yes correct! I pinned a comment to correct this. Thank you for catching that! 🙏🏼
