Rolling up the garage doors to reveal the Militia Group was an appropriately cinematic moment for a Red Dawn-inspired game! :D Love it!

The helicopter fight at 45:00 is pretty offside. The Hinds shot with their cannons as AA in the shooting phase of the previous American turn, so they can't be used again during the following Soviet shooting phase. I'd also have to point out the Team Yankee FAQ has stated that a unit that fires AA in the enemy shooting phase can only fire their MGs in their following shooting phase so the kill into the Abrams with the Missile was an illegal shot.

One of the best TY batreps I've seen. I love the American militia. Shows why you need dedicated AA. Thank you. I was surprised helicopters get to fire as AA in your opponent's turn. I thought only dedicated AA could do that. I also did not know you could close assault two different units with one unit, although I did observe the assaulting units on BMD did fire at it.

That was surprising! I had to recheck the rules, and it does say only Guided AA weapons are prevented from shooting at aircraft in the enemy turn... Ah, but then I checked the FM-101 FAQ, and it specifically rules out one Helicopter shooting another Helicopter in the enemy turn. Oh well. ;)

Loving the Red Dawn stuff. Looking forward to fielding Cubans and VDV. Think it's hilarious we get to use SU-100s in Team Yankee!

First time I’ve seen the Militia in action that look a decent unit in some situations for sure!

Great video, but hard to believe those are balanced forces. Also I would get rid of those blue dice.

Can someone knowledgable explain to me, why these tank teams sit on the table like on a parking lot ? I mean after having been a tanker myself, I cannot recall any situation in the field where our Marders and Leos "parked" so close together. Maybe when they were dismissed from duty and had to park in Depots in the late 1990ties...looks really weird on the gametable and, for me, takes some attraction off the game / rules...

Having been in 3d ACR when it still had tanks, I’m always annoyed when I can’t field the true firepower that we had in our organization. Even during the 80’s a troop had more firepower and support than what you had on the board here!

The US army is 109 points - I thought armies were supposed to be no more than 100 points?

  • @Subcomandante73

Hinds were playing a bit fast and loose with the rules. The lack of anti-air condemned the US to lose before they even got on the board. Apache are just not worth the points.

Apaches are a lot better on larger boards where they can out range the AA

@@RomanHistoryFan476AD at this point I would say Soviets are the best followed closely by the Americans. Both because they each have such a variety of units, everywhere from modern super tanks to horde armies/units. Other nations are competitive, but have less variety.

@@RomanHistoryFan476AD that's a good question... I might go with Israel. They don't have very much high AT so have a hard time dealing with the super tanks (T-80, M1a1HC, Leo2a6) but they are still an 'elite' army made up of smaller high skill units, which can't play the numbers game.

The fact that the idiot from battlefront didn't know you can't AA with helicopters.
