It’s a neat idea to augment the phone’s flashlight capabilities. The best light you have is the one that’s always on you and being able to make that a little better could be a significant improvement. I’d like to see this a little thinner and perhaps have a wide area illumination as well as some throw (I know it would be limited) but this is a great start. Excited to see the future.
It is a good idea, but I doubt it'll help much with "the best light is the light that's always on you". The reason people rely heavily on phone flashlights is because they won't bother to carry any light whatsoever. I'm not saying this isn't going to be useful, I'd probably get one, but I highly doubt it'll expand the flashlight market beyond those who would already EDC a flashlight of any size. Even if it were slimmer profile, it still adds bulk and complication. Do you honestly think someone who won't carry a AAA flashlight, or one of those micro flashlights with builtin battery, would bother to carry one of these if it fits in their wallet? People stopped carrying wallets and keys even.
You should check out the pelican camera lens covers to protect your camera lenses. Those hardened glass covers crack on me daily, but pelican makes aluminum rings that go around each individual lens that I’ve had a lot of success with.
MagSafe has been around for a while now. There are magnets in the phone so I doubt it. I have a MagSafe case that has stronger magnets so it stays on my car mount better. Doesn’t affect my gps at all.
The phone's compass gets messed up constantly anyways depending on the surrounding you pass through. I lose a few good degrees per day and have to recalibrate whenever I use it.
I love Wuben's lights, but this one isn't for me. It's obviously a ringlight, aimed at people videoing themselves on their phone rather than a useful EDC flashlight.
Phone stand with a built in flashlight. Pretty cool

I definitely need one of those for work!
Neat idea but I don’t think it would last a day in my back pocket. Depending on what you do and how you carry your phone it could be useful.
Technology never sleeps
That's pretty cool
Now if they could make it run off the phone battery with some kind of reverse magnetic charging ... that would be awesome
Something interesting happened to my E1 after just a few mins use.
Offering people a built-in ring light could be pretty revolutionary.
Does it also act as a phone stand?
yes
Its an interesting concept but wouldn't magnetic accessories mess with my smartphone's compass? Or do the accelerometers have ferrous parts?
