You learn pretty fast! If you master basic blues, you'll develop incredible string vibrato and perfect string-bending expression aka "feel" that starts as an idea in your mind and comes to life through your fretting and picking hands
very good man! im self taught as well for about 14 months and this gives me motivation to keep goin and realise that it does get better with consistency, your a very fast learner also, your going to grow into a badass rockstar !!!
I completely forgot that it was 2 years since i picked up my first guitar last week! your bends are epic! Also, the string breaking as soon as you hit record is so relatable lmao.
This is really good progress! I've been playing for almost exactly 2 years as well, and you have very good phrasing and control on slower songs. I've mostly played metal, and one thing I can recommend if you want to be able to play faster songs and solos is actually to get your downpicking down. I saw in the last clip that your fretting hand was really good, but that you maybe could work a bit on your picking hand. Even when you're alternate picking, having good control over your downpicking helps so much, since it gives you a more constant and "secure" feel in your right hand. I've been working on my downpicking speed a lot recently, I can downpick pretty comfortably at 205BPM, and I've noticed that shreddy solos become a lot easier when you get the basic downpicking down at a good speed. Hope this helps, awesome progress! 😊
just 1 mistake you should try to avoid, is that your hand is always on the same position. Use your wrist to play the string and your arm to change the string. Its much better and you will get better muting. (a lot of very fast players use this motion, me included. I like Bernth a lot and Troy Grady does have a lot of videos about diffrent picking movments and technics) Keep up the good work.🔥
very stunning and nice job!!! I'm learning guitar from this year (2024/01) until now, hope I can get some progression like you 🤭 Keep it up and stay warm! (sry for bad English
most of the time it's because you're avoiding doing the things u know are difficult. Always practice what you're bad at and you'll get good at everything
Can I ask how did you learn the songs if you were self taught? I picked up guitar a little less than a month ago and I’m barely making any progress, so if you could give some tips ❤
I've played for 7 years, and you're almost if not better then me. Story: I learned chords and all that for 6 years because my guitar teacher didnt challenge me enough. The second i got a new one, i learned smells like teen spirit, then worked on master of puppets for a while and got bored so i switched to hell above. rn im learning purple rain instrumental cover.
How are you practicing? Are you watching RUclips vids? Taking online courses? Would be dope to hear what tools you used to get better each day. You sound great bro keep it up?
If you haven't try playing blues like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Moore, BB King, Albert King and so on. You could also try Jimi Hendrix as well tho you might even know them all
Bro I just can't belive it's only 2 years progress😭 Maybe you have a professional mentor or smt?? I play guitar for like 1 and a half year, not always have much time therefore sometimes I rarely practice, but I'm not even close to what you've done in a couple of months.
Its like I can do fingerpick I can play blackbird by the beatles with confidence but my pick picking is not that accurate and I need to work on that to be able to play solos. Pieces of 6 second loops that Ive practiced 10000 times are fine but I need to learn changing between single note picking and chord picking and many many more things
Good work. I've been playing for around 26-27 months now. Try working on resting your palm on strings with your picking hand while playing Johnny B Goode. :p
I wasn’t sure from your video if you do too much palm muting, but a great way to improve palm muting skills is to play some thrash or even punk songs. From personal experience Metallica and Green Day took me from seven nation army to master of puppets level.
You should check out avenged sevenfold and some of their guitar work, their know for having some crazy stuff it’ll be fun for you to learn some stuff by synyster gates.
A lot of tab books, books in general, RUclips videos to hear how the song sounds. I like watching videos of people that are deemed as “good” and try to copy their technique. I’m hitting a rough patch rn in practice bc I feel like I’m not progressing as fast as I thought I would be. Just gotta get over this hump.
@@J4kerGuitarthis always happens with guitar, you start and you're terrible, then you get good at the basics and you improve ridiculously fast. It slows down after a while and you stagnate a little, it's hard but keep playing you won't regret it.
You should learn the simple chords first and practice so that you can transition between the chords effortlessly. Then you can move to the chords which beginners have difficulties with (bar chords). You can learn the strumming of simple songs. It'll take you about 7-8 months to play it with a bit of ease. After that you can move to the harder parts of guitar learning.
It all depends on what music you want to play / make. I'm into math rock-ish and j-rock stuff, for example. I've been playing for around 4 months and I can play decently challenging solos/riffs/lead guitar related stuff, and write my own stuff, but when it comes to chords I'm still kind of a noob because that's less interesting to me. Just focus on doing what makes you feel the itch do play the guitar whenever you can.
play green day or any song thats mostly just power chords! theyre super easy, fun to play, and have good instant gratification that will make you want to just keep playing
@@J4kerGuitarbro no way me too I did a live performance in the cafeteria before finals week. I’ve been playing for 4months now and I’m a freshman there
Practice, learning to kinda just mess with your amp/pedals or whatever you have. Just learning to use your ear to sorta just tweak things to get it to sound as close as possible…
You learn pretty fast! If you master basic blues, you'll develop incredible string vibrato and perfect string-bending expression aka "feel" that starts as an idea in your mind and comes to life through your fretting and picking hands
Appreciate that, gotta work on it!
Actually insane progression. Your 2 months was miles better than mine. Keep it up!
Appreciate it! 🤝
seeing the blue guitar slowly age over time is the saddest, happiest, and craziest thing to ever see
Amazing progress! Keep it up!
Thanks man! Appreciate it! 🤝
van halen obsession is so true lmao, great work
very good man! im self taught as well for about 14 months and this gives me motivation to keep goin and realise that it does get better with consistency, your a very fast learner also, your going to grow into a badass rockstar !!!
Thanks!
The amount of guitar progress you made is nice
I completely forgot that it was 2 years since i picked up my first guitar last week! your bends are epic! Also, the string breaking as soon as you hit record is so relatable lmao.
youre a better guitarist than me man by miles keep it up and never give up

Playing both left and right handed very good
The camera quality got better as the years went by lmao
bruh, your 5 and 6 month progression was so much better than mine, i was just playing one polyphia song

Damn bro u got good so fast
Thanks!!!
As a beginner this is such an inspiration ❤ thank you so much
Also how did you thought this yourself?
Loosen up and relax bro, let it flow

Very good progress
Thanks!

if you are doing barre chords at five months g... i need to quit LMAOOO
😭😭😭

I hope you become a millionaire
Thanks 🤝
what this has to do with the vid

really amazing work btw
I’m currently in the switching chords and hating bar chords (F Chord) phase 😅
6:43 Bro, don't worry, I break a string 2 times a month ( and they're 12-52 strings btw ) 🫡
what resources did you use to teach yourself?
How are you practicing? Are you watching RUclips vids? Taking online courses? Would be dope to hear what tools you used to get better each day. You sound great bro keep it up?
Tabs online, tab books, occasional RUclips video, and just trying to use my ear for a lot of songs.
If you haven't try playing blues like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Moore, BB King, Albert King and so on. You could also try Jimi Hendrix as well tho you might even know them all
At 1:15 how did u get such nice toning ?
why did bro heart the comment then just not answer the question 💀
@ 💀 he probs just tryna find out or sum
Hey man rly good stuff, your path reminds me a lot of mine. We have oddly similar music taste. Also are u a left handed player?
Bro I just can't belive it's only 2 years progress😭

Nope, just practice a LOT in the beginning. I was doing easily 2 hours + a day. Lately bc of school, been like 35 min a day.
Good work. I've been playing for around 26-27 months now. Try working on resting your palm on strings with your picking hand while playing Johnny B Goode. :p
Brother, what is the name of the song at minute 3:51 ?
Nothing else matters solo
Amazing progress man, you're clearly built for this. How much did you practice on average for the 1st and 2nd year?
Maybe like 25-45 min a day. It adds up!
I wasn’t sure from your video if you do too much palm muting, but a great way to improve palm muting skills is to play some thrash or even punk songs. From personal experience Metallica and Green Day took me from seven nation army to master of puppets level.
Thanks for the tip!
1:36 What is the song you were playing at 9 months?
Bug collector I think it was
6:45 that hurt my soul lol
what's the song at 1:37?
You should check out avenged sevenfold and some of their guitar work, their know for having some crazy stuff it’ll be fun for you to learn some stuff by synyster gates.
Any other rhythm tips
Which red guitar is that which Jackson model?
Can i please ask, did you used some app or how did you learnt

What do recommend learning first as a total beginner. I been playing for 3 days and all i can play is that 1 part from seven nation army lmao

@@J4kerGuitarbro no way me too I did a live performance in the cafeteria before finals week. I’ve been playing for 4months now and I’m a freshman there

you’re really handsome btw 🥲
im progressing at about he same rate as you but at 1.5 years rn
Cool
Dang your 3 months is 1 year me 😂
Did you use metronome for song learning? Im 6 months in and kinda wondering if im supposed to learn songs with it
Yes definitely. It'll make your progress much faster and efficient
How do you learn to replicate guitar tones?
Practice, learning to kinda just mess with your amp/pedals or whatever you have. Just learning to use your ear to sorta just tweak things to get it to sound as close as possible…
bro do u learn music theory?
Trying to😭
Does anyone know the name of the 6 month song?
Sad but true (:
Looks like you learned barre chords the same way I did. Brute forcing your way through creep
Nice! Hard work is paying off. How often do you practice?
Rn bc of school like 45 min a day
how old r u if i can ask
