“The Upturned” by the developer (Zeekerss) of Lethal Company uses this sort of instrument and I instantly thought of this sort of grainy flanging sound occurring in some of the tracks. I highly recommend it, it’s honestly very underrated.
ENCICLOPEDIA [Medium: Success] - Your mangled brain would like you to know there is a boxer called Contact Mike. YOU - Yeah? Any news on my wife’s name? My mother? ENCYCLOPEDIA - Nope. You’re welcome.
This is the neatest thing, and a great example of how one can make music with *anything* once they have a basic knowledge base of recording. I'm working on that knowledge base, and your music is definitely part of my inspiration to do so. Thank you for being so open with various bits of your process, and all the lovely hummable melodies
woa this is awesome! I have one of those big diaphragm contact mics with the metal backing that you gotta tape to stuff but this looks way more convenient thanks for sharing :)
Encyclopedia - Your mangled brain would like you to know there is a boxer called Contact Mike. But really, it is kind of neat. If I was more of an audio type there are a bunch of things I'd clip one to...
That one shot of the Chroma Console immediately made me SO jealous - I'm now convinced I need a contact mic, but what's the point without those sweet little rainbow knobs by my side?
I think some of those sounds would work great in a Lookfar album! If you're interested in making any more dungeon synth I know I personally would love to hear it
This feels like the kind of music you'd here over an Adult Swim cutaway from a show.
That's some of the highest praise I can think of for sounds of oddities.
@@Lucernamhi
Very well said. This song slaps
@@briggy4359 hi
Your ability to make music out of *ANYTHING* always excites me.
😃😃😃😃😃😃👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Music is just organized sounds anyways
this sounds like if an abandoned arcade was turned into a teenage gang hideout
Turning an old, abandoned church into a dance club you sell amphetamine out of.
how did you nail that so perfectly like i can totally see it an a chill indie rpg game.

This would be absolutely *incredible* for sound design and foley work. That metal pan had such a satisfying CLANG to it.
These sounds are oddly scary and unsettling. I want a horror game to use audio like this for the OST
Right! That’s exactly what I thought

Oxenfree came to mind
Thus kind of music is called "trip hop" and the first two silent hill games use trip hop for their soundtracks
Contact Mike mentioned!
Time to internalise that thought
ENCICLOPEDIA [Medium: Success] - Your mangled brain would like you to know there is a boxer called Contact Mike.
YOU - Yeah? Any news on my wife’s name? My mother?
ENCYCLOPEDIA - Nope.
You’re welcome.
Thank you, i was hoping another Encyclopedia-head was in the comments thinking the same thing
hes a major fucking athlete
What is it with you and this contact mike guy anyways?
song kinda gives me some Cosmo Sheldrake vibes
IT DOES
Cosmo Sheldrake x j^p^n
I feel like so many Half-Life sounds came from contact mic recordings.
Groovy!!
BREAD PIRATE!! You listen to Louie Zong too?! What a neat little breadcrumb to find out :>
@@cardboardleaf7971 It's true!
I even have a piece of lost media from Louie Zong. I plan on sharing it someday.
omg the pizza pan at 0:31 sounds like an old school fight sound effect. a gun? a punch? i love it so much
Not only is this great, I'm quite tickled by 'bong' and 'little bong' in the panel. Bonglet!
oooh, so thats how they make all the sounds for analog horror
contact mics are such a building block of experimental music! i love to see them utilized more often. also you got the chroma console! sick!
That teacup at 0:29 awaken many memories of Melee
0:34 Louie just played a half-life 2 sound effect here and you can't convince me otherwise
This is the neatest thing, and a great example of how one can make music with *anything* once they have a basic knowledge base of recording.

im upset that contact mic music isnt a whole genre i can just look up and find songs for. this is so perfect.
Feels like a song youd hear in a RPGmaker game in a way i cant explain
The solo noises makes me think of the random sound effects and noises you would hear in something like old Scandinavian cartoons.
the whole time i was expecting to hear a scratched vocal sample followed by a guy rapping about the world stomping out his creative efforts
I haven't had contact with my family in years. Please tell them I love them
No thanks, I'm busy
Man that Kalimba is awesome, really makes me want to pick it up again.
feels like this would be the type of music playing in an rpgmaker psychological horror game with turn based combat
I love how it spunds like alien instruments! Music from anoyher world.
This is so cool. Haunting, dark, gritty, but undeniably chill grooves! I hope you continue to play with this tool and keep making awesome beats.
Duuuuuuuude I never knew contact mics existed! THANK YOU
i CANNOT hear contact mike anymore without thinking of the disco bit
contact mics just sold out everywhere
Oh gosh, I'm imagining all the instrument possibilities... Might be insane.
woa this is awesome! I have one of those big diaphragm contact mics with the metal backing that you gotta tape to stuff but this looks way more convenient thanks for sharing :)
These sounds would be perfect for dungeon synth too. Hope to hear some of them in the next Lookfar project!
YES
Alternate title: “Chroma Console Your Life” … and I agree, love that pedal!
This is so funky, I love it

I love these kinds of videos!!
The kalimba sounded so insanely cool!!
Those cups reminded me of old scifi anime sfx
once again proving what an awesome person you are. I have a lot of love for Louie and his sick beats
I love this a lot. But i love most of your music
Somehow this feels very much like the beginning of Disco Elysium’s hottest nightclub for anodic music
This is sooo cool! I love the sound of the brown cup so much ♥
5,000-1 rank outsider! No one saw it coming. The mantle of a game changer demands intangible qualities.
that "pizza SNARE" sound sounds so cool!
oh awesome, awesome awesome. that bass.... also i see you louie with the violin!!!
I love the sound at 0:31 sounds like some sort of satisfying parry noise
This is so cool. Haunting, gritty
that was one of my favorite things ever to rap over
Finally the algorithm recommended something random but cool
Love this tune!
This is just a vibe. Hell yeah Louie.
this feels like something death grips would do
that snare is INSANE!
It's like a LISA battle theme with artisanally recorded sound effects.
Gives me vaguely Oxenfree vibes.
I would never have clicked this video if I didn't see who uploaded it
the kalimba sounds like claymation soundtrack
almost sounds like a Tune from a Ethereal Sci-Fi setting
God damn you make songs that are always enjoyable each tjme
the opening of this video has big AsumSaus short video vibes
Ngl these sounds would make a good ambient music for some horror game
Very cool
0:32 that sound so much like those old cartoons when the characters got hit by some metal thing
Definitely reminds me of the old star trek sound fx
This reminds me of your "Water" album!
Sounds like something from steamworld dig, i like ittt
This is truly genius
Reminds me a lot of the french artist Jacques, who creates a lot of music just by sampling everyday sounds
SUCH A SICK BEAT
That one shot of the Chroma Console immediately made me SO jealous - I'm now convinced I need a contact mic, but what's the point without those sweet little rainbow knobs by my side?
The first few sounds are directly from those Asterix and Obelix movies
Yoooooo you kinda ate this Louie ngl, continue fr.
HARD CORE!
dilapidated cyberpunk dojo type
Remember kids: equipment is expensive, but music is cheap
Got that sorta...Gorillaz feeling. I like it.
that's cool I wonder what weird and amazing sounds he'll make
Ps: love the song you made I think it's really cool
0:31 me collecting scrap for the company and dropping off my metal sheets onto my company mandated vessel
And nobody is mentioning it sounds exactly like Deponia soundtrack.
It makes me feel odly calm
That goes unreasonably hard
Your creativity always amazes and inspires me!
THIS IS EVERYTHING
Honestly makes me think of Night in the Woods
Reminds me how LeapReaders sounded in 2003.
Feels like it would be good for a sidescroller about an exploration drone that landed in an abandoned alien city.
ougghhhhhh mr. zong you never fail to hit istg
Your mangled brain would like you to know there is a boxer called Contact Mike.
sounds cooler than i thought it would
The real slim shady has to see this!
stuff like this makes me want to learn how to make music so bad
i reminded of the music in horror DLC for OuterWilds and I love it
So cool!
I literally just got an ad for that big colorful pedal. What are the chances
Mort Garson mixed w/ Mort Garson vybes.
fascinating!!!!
This is sick!
In an almost inexplicable way, this reminded me of Broadcast 🤔
Pedals are awesome.

Just here to request that you guys make more Snake Pool songs because it’s my favorite music I’ve ever heard
