You had me at your breakfast. I'm in love with dumplings of any kind and that scallion pancake had me drooling. I also love that you and Sabrina give honest reviews of the food you eat. It's refreshing. I've thoroughly enjoyed your Taiwan serious. Can't wait for more videos.
I LOVED this vid, everything from the gorgeous, lush green landscape, to the fish market. The breakfast looked really good as well as the fish for lunch.
I’m surprised the fruit ripened so quickly too! Wth? Thanks for showing the world more of Taiwan. Can’t wait to see the rest of Taiwan’s East Coast. They need some love, especially this past year!
Hey from Vancouver! Really enjoy your videos. Has inspired us to visit Taiwan this coming March break. I taught English there 20 years ago so looking forward to returning with my family. Cheers!
Wow! As always, very informative and enjoyable video. Brings back a flood of memories. Yes, you correct, sashimi in Taiwan is very very delicious. Safe travels Luke and Sabrina. Keep up the great work. Love you guys! 😉
You are smart Luke. Sashimi is fresh and delicious in Taiwan. I love the seafood too. Taitung is famous for their electric steamers, rice cookers. Taiwan is known for famous brands such as Acer and Asus laptops too. I love Taiwan. If you plan to go to Kaoshiung, you might want to visit the aquarium there. It is huge! They even have overnight stays too. 😉.
It is really clean for the type of market it is, especially the traditional methods of hauling the fish onto the floor. Breakfast was 👌 thanks for watching Debra!
I was there 15 years ago. People there are so nice! The Aboriginal tribes mostly are there. Food there are great! Love the local Food! Sashimi is so fresh! Wish I could go back again next time around. Love the place, Love the people! @Luke Martin you act like Mark Wiens when you sample the food. The only thing missing is the swaying to the side when the food is good...LOL! Great videos! I would love to be a vlogger someday. Cheers!
We have custard apple tree in our hometown. I love custard apple. Seeing you eating, I miss custard apple now. Feel like eating now. Parcel here Luke pls. That fruit reminds me of my school days where we fight for that one fruit from the tree. Most of the places, sea, fish etc reminds me of my hometown (Kanyakumari ) Thanks for the wonderful reminiscence.😀😍 😍
THANK YOU for these amazing videos!! I'm moving to Taiwan with my Taiwanese hubby next year - so excited to go to these places you've introduced to us!! :DD
Custard apples are really tasty! Usually we split the fruit from the top and dig into the meaty fruit with a spoon, like eating yogurt. It's even better when it's cold!
Beautiful sea food you very lucky to eat all this sea food very nice glad to watch you love your food and.fruits thank you for sharing. Bless you both , 26--11--18--.
Seafood is my go to! Immense foods again. Thanks so much for creating such engaging content. It's torture watching your vids now that I've started keto!

I would suggest you to visit the ethnic tribes or the aboriginal villages sometime.... on the mountains specially, the places where they live are beautiful and they have their own recipes which you can try.
I love sugar apple/custard apple. It is so creamy and sweet and also has real health benefits.I have eaten lots of sugar apple, never had one with any sour taste.. . This is also known as sweet sop in the Caribbean
@@LukeMartin very delicious ! as a matter of fact I had one just about a week ago. They are not commonly seen now in Trinidad for some reason and a bit expensive. ( about 2-3 USD for 1, depending on size)
Hi great video Luke. I was wondering if you can tell me what time of the day do they bring in and unload the daily catches at Hsin-Kang fish harbor/market. Many thx in advance!
Sashimi looks delicous.Nice footage of the fish market. How you peeled the custard apple is interesting. Normally, my family break it even by hand and eat it directly. There is one kind of custard apple famous in Taitung, which is called pineapple custard apple and that tastes more delectable.
I enjoyed this video and now I want apple soda. I live in the Virgin Islands 🇻🇮 and we have sugar apples here grown locally in folks yards. To ripen them faster, put them in a brown paper bag . They taste even better if you chill them in your fridge for a bit 👍🏽
For both of those reasons and more! We initially moved to Chiayi to teach and fell in love with the traditional culture, temples, food, mountains and people. Now we love every place in Taiwan and all of its food!
You would have to start with scallion pancake, Fish market was interesting, Custard apple is one of my favorites along with Passion fruit. Hugs to you Both..
Quite nice video and one that you ate is quite common here in India 🇮🇳 #custuredApple but the way of eating it, is different, don't peel the upper skin just break it into some pieces and chew its flesh by removing seeds of it in the mouth 👄 and actually custured apple 🍏 are in season now a days 😁😁
Loved the video! Got to ask....you’ve mentioned basil before and when you ate the swordfish with basil...does that have the same flavor as sweet basil used in Italian cooking.

Didn‘t know that Taiwan is so diverse - looks like a really interesting travel destination! 👍
It really is! And small enough to reach almost all destinations in under a few hours! Thanks for watching Leif!
It is! There are modern cities, rural towns, warm beaches, massive valleys, supertall mountains...... And everything is really convenient and cheap!
I guess I really need to put Taiwan as well as South Korea on my bucket list of places to visit. I’ve been to mainland China but Taiwan seems to be a really interesting destination. Thanks Luke & Sabrina for producing these inspiring videos.

That sugar apple is called Atis [ah-tease] in the Philippines.
The sugar apple fruit in my country known as Srikaya, also made for ingredients for Kaya Toast...
I love kaya toast!
Sorry, i made a mistake, the Kaya Jam, was not made from Srikaya, he he, Kaya Jam was made from Coconut Milk, Pandan, and Egg... he he he...
Finally an Apple Sidra shoutout! Also just wanted to say thanks for representing Taiwan, in all it's unsexy sexiness.
It deserves more love! Thank you for watching!
I have had that apple beverage too.
NATURE HAS INDEED BEEN EXTRAVAGANTLY GENEROUS WITH IT'S BOUNTIES TOWARDS TAIWAN. INDEED A PARADISE ON EARTH; IF NOTHING MORE !!!!
the srikaya is so mouthwatering, it's so hard to find one here on my city in indonesia
They are so delicious like candy!
