- A humble redux on the Tornado of Souls solo for my patreon teaching this time. Maybe with less flare than I did it 8 years ago. I still have no idea exactly how this guitar solo is supposed to be played, but this is how I think it goes!
I imported this 20 year old Charvel from Japan recently, the pickups are Seymour Duncan Custom Shop 59/Custom Hybrid with A2 bar magnet and 59 with A2 mag.

I swear its cleaner than the original recording. Sounds wrong to me, but it isnt haha
@@cycomiles4225 yeah, Brandon has a proper right hand technique, so that allows him to play with higher clarity than Marty Friedman :D
@@AffixedEvil Yeah. MF has that extended wrist right hand thing. Its a miracle he gets any kind of tone, without muting I sound like cows mooing at the same time.
@@cycomiles4225 yep. Playing fast - paced aggressive stuff like Megadeth with that hand position is impressive, despite being an unnecessary difficulty that only limits him in longer perspective

The vibrato is so disgustingly good. My favorite solo of all time, and done so proficient. Love it.
No backing track, no playing "along to the song" (as the real guitar solo is played in the background). Just straight up, stripped down, balls to the wall, hiding behind nothing in your face played like a Sunday walk in the park. Amazing.
never seen someone play so clean that you can actually hear every single note they're playing while sweeping, shredding or even strumming a chord
I still say he is one of the best shredders to ever live. His vibrato is insane.

Awesome! Guitar videos don't need fancy lights, camera angles, or editing: we want a clear continuous view of both hands and the audio to clearly be the same "take" as the video. Love your playing; you're inspiring us!

Brandon, you have a very distinctive vibrato sound. Thats the best compliment you can get. Being original with your own style is very hard nowadays.

Wow, one of, if not the cleanest álbum like playthrough of this solo. Even the original isn't as clean.
Brandon's previous cover of this was already perfect, and then he just showed us now a whole new level of perfect, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if he takes the lead guitarist spot in Megadeth someday.

The man to be the main guitar of Megadeth, easy easy... But, I would simple "hate" to see Brandon playing there and songs where the singer sounds like a freaking chicken. Anyway, he nailed the solo like nothing. We're witnessing what an elite guitar player really look like.

The pick roll string to string tonality wise is so round versus flatpicking. Efficient/fluid/pure doesn't begin to describe it.

First of all, as a TBDM and a huge Brandon fan, I have to say that this is one of the best covers I've seen. The one point in the video that confuses the living shit out of me is at 0:57 . He seems like he's tapping one note but there is no 23rd fret so he basically just touches the e string. Why though?
No one gonna mention how fuckin killer that Charvel and finish is. Playing is always exquisite it's more becoming a, what beautiful relic is he shredding on this time? lol

He’s already in a band with a ton of their own success. The Black Dahlia Murder is arguably the biggest American death metal band and they play all over the world. Have like 10 albums over 20 years.

Dave has a tendency to nitpick how people play, and in some cases even when he’s not the stronger guitarist. I think Brandon is more creative and his style is better suited to the Black Dahlia Murder.

Sick, dude! Also - is that an "acoustic" model Earvana nut? The two screws on it remind me of it. I had one of those on my Ovation acoustic for awhile but it didn't work very well because of the reduced 25.1 scale length.
Actually its a tusq height adjustable nut. Its great practically, but fugly from the side view. I need a good luthier to craft me a bone nut, its out of my skillset
