After a bout with cancer, God granted me the writing of several hymns. But for a year after losing my wife, I was unable to write any more hymns, so I began to think that I losing her, I had lost my inspiration as well. Then I wrote a hymn, the final stanza of which, seems to go well with Bishop Baron's sermon today. "Lord of this glorious morning, most worthy of my praise! Give me the ears to hear Your voice, the spirit to obey! Take my two hands and make them Yours to bless Your child in need. Love through my heart that overflows with Your great love for me."
I'm sorry for your loss. I am inspired by you. Thank you for beautiful words so perfectly expressed! I'm praying for you, please pray for me. God bless you and keep you safe!
Thank you for sharing the song you have composed - the love between the Father and the Son manifested through the Holy Spirit inspired and prods us to be the branches!
@@kathylind3036 I intend to begin hiking the Appalachian Trail in a couple weeks which I hope to use as a prolonged period of prayer. It will be an honor to be praying for you, both now and on the AT. It will be a great encouragement to me to think you are praying for me, especially that God will be honored in my walk of 2000 plus miles.
Thank you bishop for this talk I ministered in the prison system 9to 5 weekly. What a grace. Oh the stories I could tell about saving grace. I am sister of mercy not well now but I write to some of the men when I can peace to you bishop
Some time ago, while I was on a psychiatric ward undergoing stigmatization, to endure through the suffering - the suffering of those who serve - being psychologically and emotionally and physically tortured seemed far worse.
When my daughter was in the hospital, and I was completely heartbroken, a sister in the Missionaries of Charity said “We cannot see the grace right now, we can only see the suffering. We will see the grace with time.” I guess this is what faith in suffering looks like: to believe God is using our suffering to redeem us and the world even when we can’t see it. Thank you, Bishop.
Wonderful teaching this morning, thank you!! I’m 86, living in a old age facility, one of the hardest things I have ever experienced. I was able to apply your words to my life today. Learning never ends.
God bless you, Mary Ann, my prayers are with you in your situation. May God bless and be close to you at every moment and give you peace and consolation despite your suffering.
BB has a sermon where he said people in prayer have a vital role in our world, I bet you are one of them Mary Ann! Do not be afraid, I’m sure you have a good influence on those around you, God bless you dear
I contacted a Lady who had suffered with cancer, and was receiving chemotherapy treatment. I was asking how she was and if she needed anything. She described her terrible suffering, as a “Privilege”,and how wonderful our Lord and our Lady are. She completely surrendered herself to Our Lord and the Blessed Mother. She is now feeling better and stronger.
Thank you Bishop for reminding me that Jesus’s life is in me - I participate in The life of Christ. How I often forget when I have to pass through unpleasant situations. May I not waste these invitations of Christ to share in his passion and Cross. Have a nice week.
Dearest Bishop Barron, Your inspired teaching has brought Christianity to life for me like I've never known it before, in all my seventy years. I feel reborn. Thank you so much for your tireless evangelizing for Catholicism. Count me in as a convert.
Thanks for showing Jesus in that light - Vine & Branch. It's not the first time I've heard that (or read it), but it's the first time it really resonated with me, especially concerning suffering. I rarely tell people what I think about their actions unless they're excessively annoying or outright dangerous, but the thoughts are there. So, I pray for humility and patience.
I feel so blessed and feel Gods grace as I was listening to this with my husband my husband gave me a kiss and said “I feel healed yes when you my wife are with me I feel healed” in my mind I thanked Jesus as I feel and know it’s Jesus and the Holy Spirit that is talking to me through my husband. Thank you my lord for saving my marriage and I am truly grateful for uniting me with my husband during this pandemic.
Beautiful. May we hear these words again with communal ears - we, together, must remain in him. We, together, will be pruned. We, together, are to bear much fruit. We, together, have Christ living through us. We are called to be with sinners, to heal, even to suffer.
Jesus told the lady caught in adultery that He did not condemn her AND to go and SIN NO MORE. Telling people to Sin no more in a loving manner is engaging like Jesus.
If we understand Christ as "Master" in relation to his claim to be "the Way, the Truth, and the LIFE", then committing ourselves to Jesus "Master" is much more than simply believing his Word and following his examples. He gives us the GRACE to live his Word by his example. No other teacher can do the same. Christ is indeed THE Master par excellence.
I think this is the best illustration of how Jesus wants to be part of us. And how if we’re to grow how we need infusion from the vine. Bishop Barron you always bring enlightenment.
Pain, suffering are not inflicted on us by Jesus, rather both pain and suffering are opportunities to communicate with the Divine thru The Christ, thus making pain and suffering a gift to grow ever closser to the One in All/The All in One and to offer my pain, my suffering to that of Jesus as The Little Flower taught us and as she did and join with Jesus in the Redemptive work and participate in Christhood.
The image of being grafted to Christ is wonderful and helps illuminate so much about how we are called to live our Christian Catholic lives. Thank you Bishop Barron and may God bless you!
What a wonderful talk , so full of meaning , Bishop Barron , you can make such a difference in my life for sure by your wonderful way of explaining the messages in Gods way of living a better life God bless and keep you always
Bishop Barron, such wonderful words. You got me with "I need to be a teacher". I need to preach the word of the Father God,, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, and how an accident and suffering brought me back to my faith and Jesus Christ. Thank you for Sunday Sermons.
I listened to my former priest in South Carolina other day and he quoted Bishop Barron in his wonderful homily. Thank you Bishop Barron. We need you for teaching us through social media and thank you to RUclips creator(s).
Heartfelt thanks for the message. To understand God's gift of sharing Himself with us, our GOD, Holy and Almighty...to love us so much!!! We have the same mission as Christ Jesus, the same Spirit, to complete His Kingdom-to save the world. 🥰✝️🥰
Amen 🙏🏻 yes we must learn to imitate Jesus, we cannot keep our baptism to ourselves. It is all our responsibility to save souls.. there are so many who do not know who Jesus is especially children 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I can think of no other preacher/teacher either catholic or protestant who more clearly elucidates and encourages me more than you Bishop. May God bless you with long service.
Yes...meditate on all Gospels. My favorite is John. Jesus is LIFE itself-HE LIVES IN US+WE LIVE IN HIM- We are attached to the Vine, Jesus. They can very well be the source of temptation. We must first devote ourselves entirely to Jesus. Plus we can only teach what we know. First KNOW Jesus... Pray on this and talk to God about what He is saying to you specifically. God bless you. ✝️🙏
What a great homily! He literally explained what Lord Jesus meant by vine and branches. As a born and raised my whole life, as a lay Catholic who has been studying Bible for 10 years, I haven't heard any single priest who explained those verses. That is why when thirst for preaching, I attend Non denominational churches. But Bishop Barron always brings me to Catholic church. One of my wishes is before I leave this life, I would like to meet him. Lord Christ is speaking through him. God bless Bishop Barron.
Bishop - thank you - I am awe struck by your sermon and will take your words to my soul - allow Jesus to live through my suffering - little though it be. I look forward to listening to your words frequently as I can. Blessings
I am a pilar priest from Goa Bishop Barron is very brief and precise. The message goes straih6to the heart. I love to read his reflection daily. Unfortunately cant use them because we get them late
Thank you bishop for teaching us the way to Jesus. By grace through faith he empowers us to embrace the truth, beauty and goodness of the Catholic Church. Your message always carries a profound meaning and clarity of the Word of God. We thank God for a preacher like you!

When I am in pain, I think of the pain Jesus suffered. Makes mine pitifully minor.
Some time ago, while I was on a psychiatric ward undergoing stigmatization, to endure through the suffering - the suffering of those who serve - being psychologically and emotionally and physically tortured seemed far worse.
I like this guy!

If Christians (Catholics) stopped judging and started engaging sinners the way Jesus did, we would see real change in the world.
Jesus told the lady caught in adultery that He did not condemn her AND to go and SIN NO MORE. Telling people to
