Great video Neil. In February I got my first ride on a 757-300 with United on a red-eye from Los Angeles to Chicago. I had flown the 757-200 a few times but not for many years. In October I will get another ride on a 757-200 with Delta from Atlanta to Tampa, FL.
My first 757 flight was with Monarch GLA to MCO via BGR. Since then, I've flown them with Air Europe, Air Scotland, Continental (international and domestic configs) and Thomas Cook. Almost nearly got a BA 757, but it was replaced by a 767. The 757 is also the only aircraft I got to visit the flight deck while airborne in. That was the Monarch flight home. back in 1994. Always a comfortable plane to be in, with an awesome take off performance. It is my absolute favourite airliner.
I flew on the same two aircraft in April to and from Lanzarote. AI on the way out and AC back. The first time I flew on one was MAN-PMI with Air Europe (G-BLVH) in August 1985 it had only been delivered in the March that year. A great aircraft to fly on and the sound if the RR RB211's spooling up for take off is only beaten by Concorde's engines.
Love the 757. Such a beautiful looking plane and the sound of those engines! Been fortunate enough to fly on the 757 many times, just ashame that I probably won’t get the chance again.
Thanks for posting this video highlighting the iconic 757 which is my favorite. I followed this plane's history as close as I could from inception to 1st flight in 1982. Initially always believed this plane would replace the 727's that were to common in the USA back then. I flew the long gone Eastern Airlines 757's many time to DCA (Washington DC)from Hartford (BDL). The 757 handled the challenging Washington DC airport effortlessly. Least the 757 is STILL common at BDL sporting the colors of FEDEX & UPS as a freighter which is amazing after 37 years.
Thanks for watching Jay. Like you I have such an admiration for the 757 and I find it truly amazing that so many decades later it remains so popular. Truly an amazing machine.
Didn’t get the JMC one sadly but did get a -300 with Condor when they were subbing for easyJet a few year ago. I remember the unexpected passengers being delighted with their plane upgrade!
I couldn’t agree more! The Boeing 757 is an absolutely remarkable aircraft that can do almost anything for low cost package holiday airlines like Jet2. Your detailed trip reports are going to earn you a reputation. I’ve watched your TUI 767 Report ->(my feelings are mutual), Jet2 A321 Report and Ryanair Report. Great personality, Report coverage and video editing. Straight to the point. I make trip reports myself and have never done TFS back to back, but looking at an opportunity to fly the TUI 788 Aircraft for myself soon! Great channel you have. Keep uploading and I wish I found this stuff sooner. A number of the big name successful creators on RUclips that cover this topic have gone down the baloney road a bit with pretentious nonsense and fake titles, so I appreciate your relaxed and authentic reviews. I look forward to more Neil. Thanks for the videos. :) ;)
Hey mate great to hear from you. I was going to reach out as I’ve been tuning in to your channel and livestreams a lot lately. I saw you did a 75 down to the Canaries too - I’ve watched it a few times obviously! We must try and catch up sometime - I’m just starting in the plane spotting arena and hoping to get over to the fair (July I think?)
Thank you for a wonderful video on the old girl. It’s going to be a very sad day for me when I convert onto the airbus A321 Neo after 20 years of flying her.
Thank you Capt! As a passenger I’ll miss them enormously but as a pilot I can only imagine. The A321 is a fine aircraft of course but there’s no beating the 757!
flying on the jet2 757 on Saturday to Lanzarote. Seriously can't wait . always loved the 757 . from the first time on the Britannia then monorch and first choice . probably be my last time on the 757 😢
Hi Neil, Really enjoying your videos at the moment, I'm travelling to Venice in August from Manchester Terminal 1, and was wondering what time would be best for us to get to the airport considering our flight is 07:55 with security being up in the air.
Hey Kane, thanks for tuning in! I’d get there 4 hours before, if you can. If you’ve got checked luggage many airlines don’t accept them until three hours before..but allowing for queues I’d be there at the four hour point anyway. Enjoy Venice..lovely city
We are aiming to get there for the 3 and half hours before when the desk opens as wanna check my hold case in as jet 2 have given us 22kg even though we’re only going for 3 days. We’ll try
Great video my last flight on a 757 was in 2013 with Thomas Cook from Lanzarote to Glasgow, it had the special Egypt livery great plane. Could you do a Transavia Netherlands review sometime in the future please, great channel.
Hey Tim, oddly enough I’ve been on that same plane with the various coloured lights (odd the things you remember!) - it was supposed to be an A320 flying me back from Italy but that went tech - so we got the superior 757! I have Transavia now on my list..and a great angle for the video!
Great video, love the 757! I am flying with Jet2 to Rhodes on the A321 this July, how do you feel about the A321, as they will be taking over Jet2’s B757s over the next few years, if I’m thinking right?
Thanks a million Guy! I do like the A321 - I did a Jet2 video on one if you want to see more of the experience. You’re absolutely right, Jet2 will replace the 757 and older 737’s with the A321 next few years - it’s a great plane for a great airline!
I actually watched that video immediately after this haha - yes, for Jet2 it will be much more efficient, and a long term investment for the next 15-20+ years, I guess
Great video! I’m due to fly this on Saturday. I’m sat at the rear. Can I ask if they board and exit from one door or do they have front and back door to board and exit? Thanks
@@MomentsInTheSky thanks! Based on your experience how did you find the 757? I’m not great with flying as I’m claustrophobic and people say the 757 is tiny inside! How did you cope? Lol
Honestly Leah you'll be fine. The 757 is longer than most short haul aircraft and for that reason they feel roomier to me. It's a lovely smooth plane to fly..
I do fly solo most of the time - but always happy to have fellow travel enthusiasts along with me! Sometimes I’ll stay in the Canaries for a few days other times it’s just a one night stop
Have you ever split up with someone and realized too late that, that was the love of your life? I wonder if Boeing felt that way once they realized how beloved and cherished the 757 is. Hey, Boeing, it isn't too late to re-open the 757 production line. Admit your mistake in dumping her and bring her back!!! Immediately !!!!
Couldn’t have put it better myself Jocelyn! I still think there’s a market beyond simply stretching and renewing the 737. A new 757 would be a beautiful thing!
Great video as always, Neil! My experience of 757s was mainly on BA on their LHR-MAN shuttle. Love their distinctive engine noise and steep climb on take off. Those wash basins look a proper size, compared with those on modern planes. Those sales pitch will put me off flying with Jet2!
What a wonderful aircraft and certainly I prefer these aircraft to the new ones just full of character . I love reading the history of where there journey began ie could have started in USA then England then turn up South America and finish in some African country lol it’s a journey . Cheers loved it

Hey John thanks! I’ve only ever been on one -300 and remember thinking how long it looked inside..such a luxury plane
eeeeeeeeeee🧀

Brings back memories Ray..my first 757 was on Air Europe too from MAN-TFS - lovely bird
Love the 757. Such a beautiful looking plane and the sound of those engines! Been fortunate enough to fly on the 757 many times, just ashame that I probably won’t get the chance again.
It’s certainly a mighty machine isn’t it..sad day when they retire
Enjoyed the video. The 757 is truly special. My last 757 flight was with TUI from Birmingham-Faro in 2019, we only had 62 passengers so was a treat!
Hey Samuel, I agree, special indeed! To get a flight with only 62 onboard is even better!
I really enjoyed this video. Last time I flew on a jet2 757 it was G-LSAG in 2018 who is now retired
Thanks mate - I loved making this video. Never flew on LSAG but great that Jet2 still have them flying.

The 757 was a superb aircraft ! 👍
Yep, I’d have to agree Nicholas!
Great video as always but 30 years old sends shivers down my spine. Then 35 years old Wowzers
Thanks Colin. The age of those planes does put people off, you’re not the only who has said that. They are amazing machines though 👍😆
Love the fly pencil 757 200 . Few when it was with air 2000 going south tenerife.
I remember flying an Air 2000 757 back to Doncaster/Sheffield - was a nice flight 👍
@@MomentsInTheSky when you did get hot meal aswell t.v on the plane did you fly on 757 300 with jmc

I returned from Ibiza this month on the mighty Jet2 757 I was so excited when I saw it out of the window at the departure gate!
It’s true Marc! The number of people who commented as they too didn’t expect the 757 was amazing - truly amazing plane!

I like many on here Neil love the 757 although I think the last time I flew on one was with Monarch .
Totally Gaz, I did fly on a Monarch one too, many years ago, from Manchester. An amazing machine.

Question on Tenerife Neil: Can you visit the Observatries on the mountain?
You can David yes - I did it in January for my birthday and it was very interesting. I would highly recommend it.
@@MomentsInTheSky That is cool. I take it they have dark sky reserves?
Oh yes..the official company ‘volcano Teide’ are very flexible for just such occasions..they’re very good

How many years do they keep flying this 757 fleet for?
I reckon they’ve got maybe 2-3 years left with Jet2. All depends on how quickly they get the new Airbus fleet really.
The 757 was and still is amazing.. The air2000 livery jmc airtours and monarch airlines
Totally Keith - I did fly the Monarch 757 a couple of times. Always a nice flight.
Have you tried out emerald airlines yet? To Belfast or Flybe
I’ve got Emerald booked for this time next week and really looking forward to trying them out 👍

EasyJet?
Indeed, they had four on lease in summer 2010, in easyJet livery too..👍
Hey man,a 757 enthousiast like you should fly the fantastic CaptainSim 757 in flightsimulator!
You know you’re absolutely right Tryphon, I do have FSX but never got the 757 for it - thanks for the tip!

Truly amazing aircraft Kieron - and still flying nearly 40 years later!
Flew a 757 with United from Edinburgh to Chicago
I remember seeing that flight when I used to commute from Heathrow. The 757 is such an impressive machine doing both long and short haul 👍
Amazing video pal 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 keep it up you need more subscribers :) I have subbed! What’s the next video!
Thanks buddy..I’ve got a few choices for the next one - Finnair A350, Aegean A321, Iberia/Air Nostrum CRJ - what would you like to see?
@@MomentsInTheSky it would have to be the a350 my favourite aircraft 👍🏼 your channel thought I like anything your choice 😁😁😁
Fly the A380 or 747😊
I really liked your video untill you got to the Begging bit, sad??
Just a bit of fun as I said..although I’d have been genuinely impressed if someone had have funded me buying a 757 👍
