What is Star Citizen?
Star Citizen is the ultimate space trading and combat simulator video game for PC with support for Windows and Linux. The gameplay will consist of two main genres, first-person space combat, first-person shooter, & space trading in an MMO persistent world/universe complete with customizable private servers, as well as single-player and cooperative multiplayer campaign dubbed, "Squadron 42." The game is built in a modified version of the CryEngine and will launch with Oculus Rift support.

Eduard Šajgalik They've said that public transportation will have on-board entertainment including movies. I'm not entirely sure whether PCs can ride said public transportation, though.
Will be interesting to see how they balance the M50 vs the 350R.

If they are using realistic flight physics in atmosphere moving the wings forward on a nose heavy craft would help to centralize its weight making the handing more neutral and thus more controllable.

I'm hoping there are radio stations and TV (vid, I guess) stations in the verse. It would really add to the atmosphere of an already atmospheric game. I suppose if the dev team don't do it the passionate community will :D

I accidentally bought an M50 with some melt money for a giveaway on our show. So I was stuck with it and, was not very happy. The more I walked around it in my hangar, the more it grew on me and I cant wait to fly it later on today/tomorrow. Also BIG TOP GEAR PROPS!

megatiger78rules Maybe a scout ship, but definitely not an exploration ship considering its size. It's meant for bursts, not treks. Anyways, good luck; who knows what CIG will implement in the future.

Modify a Constellation to carry one of these in its rear bay, instead of a Merlin. This thing could be a little monster in a dogfight, outrunning and out manouvering the compeition. Doen't look like it can carry much in the way of fire power and deffinately can't take a hit, but then, you have to be able to hit it first for that to matter.
weldonwin Would be too huge of a modification, I doubt you could do that either. You're probably better off modifying the cargo bay and folding in the M50's wings if possible.

My favorite 'commercial' so far. Tastefully done to emulate what a ship review might look like in the future Star Citizen has built for itself. That and they even have their own Stig (2:44)!

I think there was some talk about a racing variant of the Mustang, but don't quote me on that. I think it was in the last Around The Verse, with the Chris Smith interview.

Most interceptor and light class ships will probably be able to be modded into racing variants.

Yes there will be, they are already planning In Game shows broadcast to the players. Including the Murray Cup and other news events probably related to players activities as well as general SC verse news.

Space Hammond does ships with a lot of raw power and durability. Space May does luxury ships and paradoxically, bargain ships (we need a space equivalent of a Dacia Sandero)

I have a touch screen on my laptop. What happened at the end of the video is pretty much what I did.
Good luck trying to play this on a labtop. Lol
ASCG5000 I can manage it, but only on lowest graphics quality and 720p. Also, my laptop was the most powerful one I could get for under $2000, so that's probably part of it.
ASCG5000 I get 60fps on 1080p with high settings. Works great for me! Sometimes I do 3200x1800 on medium settings.

you can not play this game on a laptop. properly it is limited. cris sead he is making the game geared to push the extremes of a desktop pc. so start saving your money if ya want to play this cause it is not being designed for laptops in mind

the space portion of that video had alot of cgi magic just watch there demo from game com the real game has none of those special effects in space and the lighting engine is much simpler

I will believe them when I see a real gameplay video of a pilot at the controls in outer space not the dogfight module obviously
apache1234657 If you saw the new 0.9 version released yesterday, you'd see the game looks as good as this trailer. I have it, running maxed, it does. (they updated some visual stuff yesterday, new hangars, added racing mode and other stuff).

For a ship that brags about it high speeds, it doesn't really go that fast, it doesn't even reach Mach 1, topping at 280meters p/s, which is 1008Kmph, Mach 1 is 1225Kmph.
This ship barely makes 0.8 ma.
*shrugs* it's a computer game dude. they have to balance the "fun" aspect with the "realistic" aspect. anyway, you can go faster in autopilot in-between nav points.

I've played Ace Combat, an action game where planes DO fly at least 1 ma, or Kerbal Space Program, where yes, isn't super realistic (Star Citizen ain't either, considering the topic we're talking about) I can build planes that fly 5 ma and still bloody control them. I'd like to be able to fly 3 ma in Star Citizen, 0.8 ma isn't even fast enough as escape velocity getting into orbit. at Apoapsis you will either plummet back, or struggle so desperately to raise apoapsis until escape trajectory is aquired.
They've doubled ship speed twice so far, and I imagine they will continue to do so. Deal with it.
