I have a Songbird Phoebe Chromatic electro-acoustic dulcimer that I run through a Boss SY-200 synthesizer (Soft Pad 4, variation 2) and parallel with a Zoom A1Xfour multi-effect pedal (using their The Vibe [vibrato] setting.) I've found that these two effects nicely sandwich the dulcimer's natural tone in the middle, adding a lovely resonance to the overall sound.

They really work well, the tuning is set up particularly easy for Celtic music. Very modes based

I been searching for a hammered dulcimer player that leads, I really think hammered dulcimer should replace lead rolls in bands but they always get put in the back, OTTA orchestra’s dulcimer players are awesome but it’s so unsatisfying that they don’t have them out front leading,

Here’s a decent example, if you never heard of otta, just ignore the awkward white hair dude. Dulcimer players are on point! Always are in most of there stuff, I just wish they would let them lead more 🤷‍♂️ like come on people it’s time for the hammered dulcimer to rule the world!
