You look in any dictionary for the definition of “harmony” and you’ll see the same definition “Three Dog Night”. Hands down one of the best bands of ALL TIME!!! Every time a 3 Dog Night song came on the radio I can still hear my mother at the other end of the house “son turn that loud music down”…and I would always yell back to her “soon as this song is finished”.
Look i don't know why i have been obsessed with this group all of a sudden for about six months now. I have been avoiding watching this because i have been watching earlier concerts over and over. But oh my gosh they were fantastic always. Maybe it's my eyes but i don't see a big difference. I cry because i didn't get to see this live but I'm so happy that once there was a thing called Three Dog Night. I'm not much of a happy person but some few things take me there and 3DN for sure. Just had to express myself.
@Valerie very good. Life can really get you down and out if you let it. Sometimes, it just does regardless of how hard you try to pull out of it. Embrace the feelings though. After all, it's what makes the good days, the really good ones. There's not alot of positivity in the world today. All we can do is take it a day at a time, and try not judge ourselves too seriously. It's what you make of it. As an introverted individual myself, naturally, I enjoy my own company lol. So its really what you make of it. We do our best and take it however we can get it. Cheers.
Cory Wells ( Emil Lewandoski ) was born in Dunkirk, NY outside of Buffalo. He was always true his hometown roots, never forgetting where his real friends were. When TDN hit big, some of his acquaintenances there scoffed at their success, calling them “sellouts”. That hurt Cory for sure and in the end the group prevailed, heralding a success few Rock Acts have ever known.
I think the main reason they aren't is they didn't write their songs. They were essentially a fantastic cover band. But still better than many that wrote their own songs.
I am so addicted. After over 50 years of not hearing them, I can't listen enough. They were great in my youth, but I appreciate them more than ever now. They sound better than ever here! RIP Chuck Negron and now Cory Wells. See you guys on the flip side.
I grew up on Three Dog Night and was fortunate enough to see them in concert. Rest in Peace, Cory Wells. The world has lost a legend and the band in Rock and Roll Heaven just got another great voice!
Lisa Haggadone - Jimmy Greenspoon who played the Hammond from the beginning has passed as well. Danny is now all alone unless he gets together with Chuck.
Their music never gets old. First live concert of any band (including Zeppelin and Tull) that I couldn't stop listening to, even without the main dog Negron. 'Try a Little Tenderness' around the 45 minute mark is epic, a difficult song that Hutton puts his soul into. For years this concert has gotten me through the most mundane of chores and still does. Glad they were finally inducted into the RRHOF. Check it out.
Cory Wells...what a beautiful soul. Negron went through hell and back again...I'd say this band is epic in it's seminal creations and manifold musical productions for the benefit of all who listen.
One of the most incredible live performances I have ever watched. Soooo tight. Vocals, musicians and orchestra were pitch perfect. They all gave 100%. Wish I understood they were a band with 3 lead singers all with amazing voices when I was young. R.I.P. Cory Wells.
Met Three Dog Night twice in Torrington Connecticut at the famous WARNER THEATRE. After both concerts we went across the street to the Yankee Peddler for a few cold ones. Great, great bunch of musicians. Did the sound check with them.
I saw them on Sept 28, 1968 at a small nightclub in Whittier, California, The Garage. I went to Vietnam the next day. I was not old enough to get in but Danny got the bouncers to let me in. What a great night that was. Thanks Danny!
I’ve been rediscovering 3DN for the past week since being holed up due to the weather lately!🥶 Been enjoying the wealth of videos on YT & catching up on the current state of things with the guys/band. Absolutely LOVED how the video cut in those clips of Corey singing Shambhala from the ‘75 Chicago Soundstage performance - wish it could’ve been throughput this concert. Sad Corey has been gone now for 8 years. Some may not care for the current lineup, however I can’t help but admire how they’ve carried on despite the losses over the years. A true class act of real entertainers & musicians then, now & for ever how long they can keep going.👍🏻🙏🏻❤️😍
The perfect compilation of Three Dog Night and the Tennessee Symphony--together for a history making event of unmatched performances! Cory Wells and Danny Hutton with supporting cast are---in a word: sublime! Every song a gem and their rendition of Eli's Coming reaches Heavenward! The opening for "Liar" is beyond words!!! Wells and Hutton have honed their considerable Craft into Diamonds---they never played so well as Tonight!
My late father loved them. Years later I got to see them live with The Guess Who & America. All 3 groups were outstanding & id see them again if they’re still performing.
I first heard Three Dog Night as a young teenager in Annapolis, Maryland in 1967 or 1968. Moved back to the Phoenix-Metro area and saw them a number of times at the Veterans Memorial Coleseum while in high school. Have maintained a healthy respect for the band all these years.
I absolutely love this band. They're the first rock concert I ever attended, in Milwaukee in the early 70's. Their warm up band was T-Rex, who were so bad people (including me) went out in the outer areas until they were finished, then came back in and enjoyed a super concert by 3 Dog Night. Ironically I had been listening to this concert (I have the DVD) every day for 3 days when the news about Cory Wells came. The DVD has interviews and commentary and gives great insight to 3 Dog Night and why they teamed up with the Tennessee Symphony Orchestra for this concert. Shocked and saddened. RIP Cory.
We saw 3DN in concert during these later years when they used symphony orchestras. We saw them about 3 times and they did not disappoint❣️ Eli’s coming, Easy to be Hard and Mama Told Me Not to Come are my favorite songs. Thanks for sharing. My husband is the real fan of this group since his teenage years. Still I enjoyed their music along with many other groups over the years. But those three songs always do it for me. ❤️🙏🏻🎹🎼
They need to do a movie about this Amazing group Three Dog Night! The good..the ups and downs, trials and tribulations and the joy ride they traveled together on this planet! A powerful sound to hear today! Thank you Cory, Danny, Cory, and Band members! You are incredible!
I saw them in June of last year, and I thought they were great. I loved the "new" Mama Told Me. 😅😅 I had seen them back in the mid 70s also. I wasn't disappointed at all.
Where is my beautiful bigoton Chuck??? No one can replace him. I had the pleasure of seeing then at The Chumash Casino in late 18 or early 19. They're a bit old and had a little trouble with the high notes, but over all I was very excited and glad I attended. My older brother was also happy to see them. I'd love to see them again.
I have loved this band since I was a 12 year old kid. Finally got to meet them when our band opened up for them back in the early 80's in Rochester NY . Floyd Sneed was still playing with them. I got a picture with Jimmy Greenspoon that hangs on the wall in my music room.
8/29/69 I had the pleasure of seeing the original band in San Diego. My girlfriend at the time was a huge fan and she was thrilled to see them live. What a great show. The band was totally under-rated. Awesome players.
Wonderful post. Thank you so much.Mr. MyyyTunes. What a preservation. Speaking of which, Out In The Country seems to me perhaps their high watermark as artists, and this particular performance their greatest moment.
I remember seeing this band in Minneapolis in 71 or 72. They were just opening their first tour and Minneapolis was the first spot on the tour. They played at the hockey arena theater in the round and they were fantastic. I remember tickets were $3.99 best concert I ever went to. I was 16 years old.
Flawless and some of the best vocal and musical syncronescity. Even if Chuck Negron absent they pulled off a 3 Dog Night show like no other! Truly Legends! Thank you.
Both Cory and Danny work really hard at using good vocal technique. Sometimes old rockers live off of their laurels and just sorta slide around and sorta hit the notes. If you watch (especially) Cory's face, you can tell he's often concentrating on nailing the notes that he's singing with good support and intonation. He's a natural, but he still works hard at it in this concert.
Their harmonies were America's answer to the Bee Gees. I'm sorry we lost Cory with his soulful vocals. He and Danny didn't need Chuck to still be successful. He made his choice.
Heck, I LOVE IT and think you did a great job! Watched some of the early ones, too, and all the words came back without even thinking. Didn't really appreciate what amazing voices and performers they were back around 1969 because I was in a bad mood that year. Thanks for the music!
First band I ever saw in concert when I was 14 in 1969, I still remember they opened with "One Man Band". Fast forward to now, August of 2015, they're playing next Friday night at a local casino, debating whether to go see them or not.... I dunno if anything can match my memories of that first show when they were so big they SOLD OUT a huge auditorium. I saw some video of their 2015 shows, just seems like they're going through the motions these days. But who can blame them, singing the same old songs every night for all these years?
***** Haven't you noticed that they are improving the songs since 2002. The hip hop version of Mama Told me Not To Come is a riot and they harmonize on the last chorus of Out in the Country. In addition there have been improvements to Shambala (Paul sings the harmony in a higher pitch).
The songs do not need to be improved. They've withstood the test of time and are fine as is. It's the current TDN lineup which is in need of a MASSIVE improvement!
+Robert McGee You are dead ass WRONG, Chuck had 8' Cory had 7' Danny had 2'. The other 4 hits were a collaboration of all three, a total of 21" .Get your facts straight Robert!
No one cares about Chuck! He had his chance to join the band. He should have taken the deal! Look where he would be today with Cory gone! His loss! The band is doing great so far with sold out concerts.
Fell in love with my wife to these songs back in '75/''76. At 62 she's still my one and only love!
You look in any dictionary for the definition of “harmony” and you’ll see the same definition “Three Dog Night”. Hands down one of the best bands of ALL TIME!!!

@@DigAPonyY i appreciate your comments and enjoyed reading them.
Masters of their craft, to be sure. Loved them then, love them now. ❤️
It's blessed music!!!!
We saw them in person when in my teens, so many years ago, such a good blending of voices, so talented and such great entertainers!
Why no rock hall? They deserve it. Same for the guess who
They have an immense catalog. They deserve to be in the R&RHOF.
I think the main reason they aren't is they didn't write their songs. They were essentially a fantastic cover band. But still better than many that wrote their own songs.
Cory sang from his soul -- Rest in Peace.
I am so addicted. After over 50 years of not hearing them, I can't listen enough. They were great in my youth, but I appreciate them more than ever now. They sound better than ever here! RIP Chuck Negron and now Cory Wells. See you guys on the flip side.
Chuck is still alive! He's 82.
RIP Cory!
Back when music was at it's peak.
great musicians, colleagues and friends ...making great historical music together... PLEASE INDUCT TO THE ROCK N ROLL HALL OF FAME
When they do SHAMBALA ( even without Chuck ) it goes right thru me .... one of my favorite groups of all time -- no one else like 'em !!
But Chuck's harmony is so noticeably missing!
Now that’s some really fine music from my youth, it’s simply amazing how good they sound! 20:54
😊😊😊 I always have loved 3 dog night way back when they first started playing I'm in my 70s now and remember all of these wonderful songs 😊😊

One of the big thrills of my teens, seeing them in concert in 1970. Grand Funk Railroad was the opening act. Mark Farner, and Cory with no shirts !! 🥰

So good, sure miss Cory Wells!
They still put on a good concert. We saw them at the OC fair 2022! So fun!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
These guys are one ofthe best groups. Then and now.

does anyone know who is currently the three front men thank you very much for your production work.!
I agree...this band was ahead of its time. Drugs did and did not help...
Tell you the truth when I heard Elis coming .. my life xhanged... even though I was 14. .damn!!!

wow they got better with age 😍😍
loved them from their prime years back about 1972 when their voices were at their peak (and so was their hair and bell-bottom outfits) !!!
I was there! Renaissance Center in Dickson, Tn. near Nashville. Great concert.
Me trae buenos recuerdos de juventud este grupo.
Wow, Cory & Danny sounded grrr8! Miss Cory's soulful voice. RIP, Cory. Thanx 4 the video. Good good job!

Strong voices, unforgettable songs and fabulous orchestra. What a great show! Adding this group to my "must see live" list.
Fantastic band. Grew up on them. They sounded even better here. Thanks for posting this!
Hair and me both standing on end at first hearing MAMA TOLD ME in smoky-dark party room...50 years later still not coming down❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

If Danny wasn't such a bitter one, he'd realize Chuck is a totally different person, and would let him rejoin .
Where is Negron?
He had burned bridges. As far as I know, they never reconciled. He is clean and sober still, but he's definitely not the same guy.
yes
Wish Chuck Negron was there and NO symphony

That's Two Dog Night. Where's Chuck??
No Chuck Negron? He was the cat who put out the big hits for them and they were jealous!
