Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. I actually knew a guy named Lalo. He was an employee/manager/part founder of a Mexican restaurant I went to since a baby, and still frequent to this day. He was an older gentleman and was so unbelievably kind to me. He has always left a permanent mark on my life and I will always respect him for that. He moved back to Mexico in 2015 by choice, and I haven't seen him since. I hope he is doing well.
