Hi Dr. Rajani. I have one under eye bag bigger than the other. 😭😭
Before I used to treat my under eye bags with something that contained shark oil... and it worked. But, they changed the formula (no more shark oil) so I have tried all kinds of tips and tricks without getting rid of my bags: cucumbers, ice, tea bags, and lymphatic drainage massage. With rollers, The Ordinary product with caffeine and "No More Baggage" I've had minimal success. 😥
      Any suggestions?

I'm at an age now where my body is really changing to show my age .😟
Maybe it's because I have slowed down since 2020.
It's battle now to restore softness & suppleness to my dehydrated skin. I am getting blemishes whereas I never had them before. Maybe my body is detoxing with my healthier diet. I am hoping it's because the supplement is working within and shedding the outer shell...so to speak.

I know longer have knee pain, especially when walking down stairs. Another benefit is that my nails are stronger and grow faster. My hair also grows faster, haven't noticed difference in thickness. My skin is sagging on face due to sunbathing in my teens. I feel there's a subtle difference in firmness. Hopefully this improves as I continue to take collagen in my morning coffee.

Four years ago I went through highly stressful situation which caused some hair loss. About a year later someone recommended a powder collagen. It's a very popular one that Costco has been carrying for years now. That particular one did absolutely nothing for me. I was, at the time so desperate that I decided to try some different brands. I was about six months into my search and I found Trunature verisol. I was so hesitant because it is pill form and the dosage is 4. After completing my first bottle, I went in for a haircut. I took my hair clip out and my hairdresser of over 20 years yelled out, "oh my God your hair got so long what the heck did you do?!" I did end up getting annoyed with taking 4 capsules along with my other supplements, so I discontinued that particular collagen, and I absolutely noticed my hair falling out more. I am back on it, I never complain about the amount anymore because It works for me, so it is what it is. So my long winded point is that I believe collagen, along with any other supplement, is so individualized. It really is about putting some time in, trying different ones, and paying attention to changes if any.

I’m 28 and have been taking collagen for 2 years none stop. I do intermittent fasting and in my 8hrs window, I consume green smoothie, and mostly plant-based meals. I have sugar once a month ( mostly period craving), I wear SPF even when I’m home to protect my skin from harmful rays that come in through the windows. And I exercise and jog 3 times a week at least. People think I’m 18-20. Funny thing is that once a bus driver let me in for free because i was behind a bunch of high school students and thought I’m with them. So, it’s really not a scam and yes- you can age gracefully and naturally.

Just getting enough protein from diet and much cheaper sources would suffice. Your body breaks down both oral collagen and proteins into amino acids and reforms them as it sees fit - be that collagen or any other numerous proteins or peptides. Any collagen that may make it past your digestive tract into your blood can be synthesized by your body just the same given enough of the much cheaper sources (food and regular complete protein supplements).

I use collagen powder once or twice a day, just to have more protein.
I’ve been doing this for approximately a year.
    I use Vital Protein.
I chose it, because it lists the amount of amino acids it contains.
I’ve noticed that different protein powders different amounts of these acids.
Humans do not produce eight of them, which is why they call them the “essential amino acids.”
Collagen powder dissolves quicker than any other powder I’ve used.
I do not see any difference in my skin since using it.
I see more difference day to day from which topicals I use, although those results are only temporary.

Hello Doc, Thank you for the video. I'm sort of a health geek obsessed with aging gracefully. At 63, I've had great results with collagen supplements. On the other hand, as you've suggested hydrolyzed collagen peptides, TYPE 1 and TYPE 3 appear to be an effective combination for anti-aging effects. 11grams per day along with 500mg of Vit C seems to do the trick. Great for skin, joints, and internal organs. That's right! You even poop better. :-) And the miro-needling, absolutely! Appreciate your wealth of knowledge. Blessings, Michael

I have just started glucosamine, MSM and turmeric high strength as have minor osteoarthritis in knees, Hoping will slow bone degeneration and perhaps contribute to better skin. I take K2, d3 and cod liver oil daily plus probiotic. Sometimes hate taking so many supplements and wonder how much the body can absorb from supplements. However I do think a combination of multiple factors affects the skin, eg genetics, exercise, diet, stress levels, sun exposure etc. so the remedy is also multifaceted. I have always had paper thin nails and my nails got strong shortly after taking the collagen. The other thing I noticed right away is my hair wasn’t shedding nearly as much. My reasoning is...if hair and nail show immediate improvement...then I’m sure my skin must be benefiting as well. I am a young 70 and I give collagen supplements a thumbs up.

I started taking collagen powder (Wellgard Gold Standard Bovine Collagen Peptide) last October, 2 tbs a day in my coffee. After a month or two I initially felt the benefits in my joints and my skin felt softer but wasn't helping with sudden onset saggy neck due to weight loss at the age of 42. Then I read a suggestion that you must take collagen with vitamin C and another suggestion to also combine MSM (Methyl-Sulfonyl-Methane) so decided to give it a go. Now, I dissolve 800mg of vitamin c powder and 2400mg of MSM powder in hot water (just enough to make it a shot) swallow that, then have my morning coffee with my collagen. I have to say it is working for me. Its like its supercharged the collagen. In 4-5 weeks I have seen a noticeable improvement in my saggy neck and seems to be getting a tiny bit better every day now. Please take note, I did not consult a doctor or any professional, this was just me trying online suggestions, and my (very positive) experience from that.

I’ve noticed the same, my hair and nails are growing stronger and faster plus the signs of aging have been wonderful too. I’d recommend taking photos at different stages to refer back to so you can better notice the changes/difference in wrinkles and skin fullness. I use Joyome collagen complex and it makes my coffee smoother/less bitter, French roasted so I like strong coffee, but this mellows it out a bit. I started with 2 scoops a day for the first 2 months and now I’m doing 1 a day for maintenance.

Same for me! My peripheral hairs along my temples are coming back, nails have to be trimmed twice a week and joints never hurt. It's a dramatic change in about three months.

@@Simple_retired_life Joyome brand but Walmart has powdered collagen too although I’m unsure of the brands they offer. Do some research on it and see what resonates with you the most.

@@Simple_retired_life Garden of Eating (Amazon) & Purely Inspired (Walmart) are only ones I know of that are actually certified to be grass-fed and humane. Both are good, but the Walmart one is much cheaper. If you do a search, there are also other videos that review brands.
