The movie "Princess Kaguya" is like a hand grenade wrapped up like a chocolate easter egg in colorful paper and ribbons. You open it completely unprepared for what's inside, and then it rips your guts out.
This movie made my cry, maybe confronting myself with infantile fears. It touched me so deep inside, i had to watch it again just the next day in cinema, left me crying again. and I can clearly underline what you are talking about. The most touching movie I ve seen until yet.
I dont agree with this, I get the feeling that the original is more dreamy and melancholic accurately reflecting whats going on on screen. Thats not to say this isn’t as good, but this rendition is not as sad imo
no actually the scene represents of the spirit of the religion which is : "the pain and suffer in life is illusion, and nothing is actually important at the end, so let it be, no need to make lingering, let's move on"
That's the beauty of a lot of Joe Hisashi's stuff. Check out "The Path of Wind" by him, crazy sound. I've rarely heard anything similar. This version in particular: /watch?v=k9OZ2dtQ2B4
My Japanese teacher told me that the music for this sad scene was specifically asked to be a happy one... And indeed, the contrast happens to have shocked the first time I saw the movie. It's amazing how it still managed to be sad...
I read somewhere that Joe was asked to create music that is empty, specifically for the scene. The music is so effective. I literally felt sick to my stomach while this started playing in the movie.
that movie broke my heart into a million pieces. just a travesty from beginning to end, and this song had nothing but horror attached to it for me :'( excellent work as usual.
I never watched Princess Kaguya until revently. I really liked this song when you first uploaded it. And now.... I understand. Now this song only gives me chills lmao
Bravo! I love so much your work and your selection of the composers.. This and Stickerbrush Symphony are your masterpieces! When I've founded Mitsuda's Rainbow Castle in your playlist it was like: "great, someone noticed and honored that little jewel". Still looking forward to hear your version of Click Clock Wood SPRING!
Hahaha, great story. Love your videos, thanks and nice vocals! 2:02 wow. I think most people will never know just how much work goes into a lot of youtube videos!
I'm a true fan of this masterpiece by sir Joe Hisaishi, loved your cover so much. It's bit different but hits the soul with an unique vibe just like the original one. Much love from 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
What. I swear we have the same recorders. I love the instruments you collect, I'm a "weird" instrument lover. All the melodicas, recorders, funky toy instruments... Good stuff. Love your music, fantastic quality. I'd love to just spend my full days doing this kind of thing, jamming out to tunes with all my instruments.
Thanks! Yeah, I did a classical guitar quartet arrangement a few years back for Summer ( ruclips.net/video/4GaRJz-jE0s/видео.html ). Shame that Hisaishi and Kitano stopped working together.
Always thrilled when you upload something new, fantastic work! You could do something from Majora's Mask now that the remake is out, you have a wide variety of instruments to be able to choose from the more exotic songs as well. Whatever you feel like, I just wish I could see more from you more frequently, though you're probably busy and your videos surely take long to make, judging from the video/audio/performance quality. Anyway, well done :)
Absolutely wonderful! Really combines your style of using any usual instrument you can find and the beauty of Studio Ghibli. After watching a trailer, I hope to watch this short film soon :)
Oh, a new video! What a rare, majestic moment. *raises cup* Here is to the guy who inspired me to play lots of random instruments! I already had a guitar, a piano (well, keyboard), flute and a drumming pad, which I don't believe quite counts, but you made me get an ukulele, two melodicas, some bongos and a kazoo, and I'm barely just starting! My son's gonna be filled with instruments :P He asks "papa, watch poop poop fart?" which is pretty hilarious.
Amazing video! That looks like it took a lot of effort... and talent! Look at all the instruments you're proficient with! Thanks for making these videos

Sis...calm down😂
Agree
you sure did Perfectly summed up the the movie.
Nailed it

The most touching movie I ve seen until yet.
This song has such a heartless gaity to it given the circumstances. Like laughing at jokes while at someone's funeral.
I dont agree with this, I get the feeling that the original is more dreamy and melancholic accurately reflecting whats going on on screen. Thats not to say this isn’t as good, but this rendition is not as sad imo
Bamboo Princess is returning to Heaven/Moon. She will leave all human sorrow or sense behind. She is back to her real heaven life.
go watch John Cleese eulogy to Graham Chapman, you'll see that jokes at a funeral can actually be a good thing

This song is pure nightmare fuel. It's all happy and stuff but they just come and wipe your memory. BUDDHA WHY?
Buddha is a jerk in the movie.
no actually the scene represents of the spirit of the religion which is : "the pain and suffer in life is illusion, and nothing is actually important at the end, so let it be, no need to make lingering, let's move on"
Kaguyahime is daughter to double chin xhin buddha
actually that wasn't Buddha. He was a representation of what a celestial being should look like during the ancient times
Fuck this song and fuck the moon people.
How a happy music sound so sad?!
Aliens, that's why

Kaguya dont have to suffer any more in the unclean world of sadness wich were kaguya belongs to the celestials

This movie burst into my living room, bonked me on the head and took my wife:’( awesome job
this song gives me the feels of confused happiness.
The contrast btw this song and the orignal scene reminds me the contrast of the name of this chanel and the quality of its videos.
Most amazing contrast ever. The combination of that ending and this song makes the movie one of my favourite ever.
lmao so true
What movie?

Aside from the performance, I gotta love that you keep a copy of "The Room" hanging on the wall.

Wow, you’ve made a masterpiece into another masterpiece! This song is a literal roller coaster of emotions. Bravo, maestro.

It's smooth, immaculate covers like this that make you my biggest inspiration for making acoustic covers. Incredible work as always, sir.

Wow, this might be your best one so far, stunning! Beautiful! As a musician, you're a great inspiration for me!
Watched the movie with my mom a couple nights ago. Spent a good half hour hugging and crying after the end. Highly recommended.
This sounds so amazingly close to what I remember hearing at the theater. Thanks for the upload!
Great Username, and a greater piece of music. Lovely stuff!!
omg you did absolutely amazing!!! thank you for your hard work! this is so beautiful.
O_O A literal one man orchestra!
Amazing.
Beautiful!!! The only thing I can not figure out is, what that was that you used to make the whale cry sound.

Oh my god that space ship toy was amazing, you are so creative!!

when can I see the pooppoopfart orchestra live?
It is coming soon to a toilet near you.

What a way to recreate a piece. Amazing
just beautiful, magical...
I love this vid btw lol I appreciate the humility to put the artist's name first on your video name as well :O
you're amazing, thank you for this beautiful interpretation of this beautiful song

One of those rare perfect covers, awesome job!
Ah, another great video. I love Joe Hisaishi's compositions. If you haven't already, I'm sure you'd enjoy playing Summer from Kikujiro.
