At locals a couple of months ago, I said Raidraptors were good. This kid laughed at me and disagreed. He said they were trash. I thought it was funny in the moment. It's even funnier now😂
@@VSBaeChigi they can have 15 flex spots to help with going 2nd, also the deck struggles against Imperm, Veiler or Nib (1 of the 3) with the typical combo but can push through with extenders and with 20 it's very likely you will open something. I blame the fact they don't depend on raw omni negation while being quite hard to pilot as the 2 basic reasons this combo deck underperforms. It's a solid tier 2 deck otherwise.
@@babrad Yeah, 15 flex spots and yet every replay I watch where they go second is a game loss LOL. Look it up yourself, all the high rated DB games that have RR going second, it's basically scoop situation because they can't force any interactions within engine and are relying on their non-engine to stop plays before they happen (which if the opponent puts up even one negate, it's already tough enough for the deck). Love the deck and I agree that it's tier 2, maybe tier 2.5. It has situations where it's great but reminds me of Synchron combos where they go 5+ Quasars on board if they can get rolling but basically instantly lose if their Speeder gets stopped.
Well he was right in that moment, they were absolute trash before the very recent support. Even now, they struggle a lot. You die to Ash on Brave. Unless you make Wise first, but then you die to Nib. You also die to Ogre on Raider's Knight, as well as Imperm/Veiler/Moonlit if you don't have the Raider's Wing. They don't struggle as bad as everyone thinks when going second. They are all extenders with 15 non-engine spots. If you make the Ultimate Falcon, you stop them from activating anything for the rest of the turn, and then you can make 5300 Big Bird for board wipe.
Small ruling. Satellite cannon cannot use on summon effect via Raidraptors force because the wording of Raidraptors force does not state the Raidraptors xyz are used as xyz material for the xyz summon sadly.
The first combo line was decent, but the 2nd combo line you can instead set the roost using brave strix, that way when you rank up using skip force you get to search for glorious bright or the new rank up. That way you can use the arsenal falcon for something else. Also wise strix effect to set a rank up is mandatory when a raidraptor xyz eff is used while it is faceup, so it will immediately trigger in a new chain after arsenal falcon has been used.
Been playing raidraptors since Wing Raiders. Here are some of my thoughts: Definitely need at least 2 Raiders' Knights. If you dont have the wing underneath, it is a prime imperm target. And you will have essentially no way to restart your combo if you can survive to turn 3 and your Knight gets removed turn 2. If anything, you can cut one Wise Strix to add the extra Knight. Swallow's Cowrie helps with fixing hands to get you to a more optimal bird. Remember: you do have recovery cards. Bloom can get you back to a rank 4 with an empty field, and noir can pump up those revived targets to make a rank 5. Arc Rebellion with Wing underneath cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects, and his attack gain is permanent. Pain Lanius is not that great of a card. Being a 1, you can't use swallow's cowrie on it for anything else. And Wing isn't a valid target for it either. Also cant be use to make Knight. Fuzzy is better at 2. Its effects are hard OPTs and xenolock you into RR - that makes the entire xyz dragon line unusable that turn. it is a nice special summon, but has steep downsides. Mimicry can be cut to just 1. It's also a hard OPT and can be recycled with Roost. Cards like Napalm Dragonius, Stranger Falcon and Revolution Falcon - Air Raid can be sided for game 3 for the burn. Kinda scummy, but we do waste a lot of time comboing off, and the extra burn can be what wins you the match. We are in a handtrap-heavy meta right now, but it isn't the only way to play. RR heavily benefits from board breaking techs to secure their plays going 2nd. You did mention droplet, but lightning storm, evenly matched and dark ruler no more are all fantastic options. You can also play tactics and thrust. Some spicy options for thrust targets are evenly matched, Different Dimension Ground, and dimensional barrier. you could even grab barrage if you get stopped at Knight or Brave. If you want to guarantee requium dragon, you can play rusty, silent boots and shade. Shade is usually live going first, and unless you are going second and imperm your opponent, its live going second. only thing you wont want to see in your opening hand is silent boots. If you do this, definitely cut Wise down to one to add Rusty. Also saving the RUM for your opponent's turn can net you a free pop with rusty still on the field. Just be smart with your placement turn 1. You didn't advocate for this, but it needs to be said: The kali yuga lock is subpar for this deck now. it requires you to run gagagaga magician and kali yuga and the subpar PK RUM card. thats 2 extra deck slots and ANOTHER dead card you don't wanna see turn 1. For the love of God make sure you run the one Called By that you are legally allowed to run. If you can afford it, S:P can be made turn 1 over top of Wise and another monster(as long as you aren't xenolocked to RR). While its first effect is wasted, it can still be a problematic card for your opponent to deal with ON TOP OF everything else you set up. It forces them to remove it without monster effects or go straight into battle phase to remove it by attacking, which is when you drop Big Bird on them. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
Swallows Cowrie isn't that good since you neg two if you get Ash'd and isn't needed if you are playing enough RR names. Pain Lanius is an extremely good extender that all the RR decks that have topped play.
@@HumanoidCableDreads Wrong. Ash'ing swallow's cowrie is a massive scrub check in a one for one scenario. A good raidraptor deck is packed enough with extenders that it's basically your opponent gambling on you having nothing else by ash'ing it. Plus, ash on Brave Strix hurts the endboard more anyway. Even more so, cowrie tribute fuzzy search raider's wing in draw plays around droll, nib and imperm/veiler/mourner. Pain Lanius on the other hand is a hotly contested topic among veteran raidraptor players for two separate reasons: It's not something that can make raider's knight, and you can't summon it by targeting Raider's Wing.
@@HumanoidCableDreads Pain can be a good extender, but it has less usability than other extenders. but the only card that most decks run that can search it is noir, unless you are running nest. you are not wasting your mimicry search on pain. yes cowrie can get ashed, but it can also be used to dodge effects. you can cowrie tribute lanius after it activates its effect if it gets impermed or veilered. search an extender and dump bloom off of tribute. bloom can revive itself and tribute to continue your plays. also, if you cowrie fuzzy or mimicry, you aren't losing advantage, and they will have burned their one ash for the turn. that makes the brave seach for skip force essentially free. also, the tiny amount of burn you take to play pain could be what causes you to lose the match in game 3. you always have to think about time when playing a wombo combo deck like RR.
Imo singing lanius, dark rebellion, requiem and their rankup is not needed in deck u can work much better with extra raiders knight and more handtraps and droplet but very good list
Extremely true, I also think Swallows Cowrie is just the best card ever in Raidraptors. Helps you dodge imperm/veiler, can be used to dodge droll in the draw phase, a searcher for Tribute lanius, etc
For Comboing I would always recommend, to make brave strix your first search or to guarantee, to be able, to set with wise strix later on and still go into Arsenal falcon that way. That way droll doesnt hurt your plays really.
I'm building Raidraptors and I think that card is a must, even more if you want to play 3 Noir instead of the Fuzzy Lanius (very good Monster but the Lock is too much imo)
Pain Lanius is not a bad inclusion since noir can search it, but since it can’t special itself if raider’s wing is on board and it can’t be part of raiders knight it’s often just ignored entirely. It’s just an option.
I would want to put in the counter trap cause it's searchable, it negates and because it's a counter trap your opponent can not chain to it unless they have another counter trap.
How would you incorporate the Time Thieves with this engine? And what type of counter cards can you run to compete with hand traps to go full combo? Nice work on breaking everything down.
Also might be worth playing rusty and the trap that's a lvl 4 so you can end on dark rebellion xyz with the phantom knight rank up set to go into requiem on opponents turn with 3 negates and dark xyz revival
I still think the Rusty Bard line is super good because you can end with 2 rank up spells set plus can make Rising Falcon on opponents turn and make Reqium XYZ for a negate and in summon triggering Rusty to pop a card and if you save Rising Rebllion for last you can blow up the board after everything. ❤
I couldn't sit through the combo section & fast forwarded because this deck has some of the most mind numbing combos I've experienced. I legit zoned out for who knows how long and didn't know my opponent was telling me to draw. In that aspect I do not like this deck, but I have nothing against the end board. It's different & pretty powerful. I will say, Raidraptor players need to be careful when going first. Leaving the link monster on the field can put you in a bit of trouble and potentially cause you to lose by time if the opponent can stall or even kill you through a single attack. I did this successfully with the Chimera Illusion twice. Makes me wonder, would Forbidden Droplet be useful non-engine to prevent this?
I tried this deck and I fully intend to try it again cause it’s so much fun, but last month I took a very similar list (minus singing, and pk rank up stuff) to a regional and out of the 7 games I played that day, 6 of my opening hands were completely dead so that kinda turned me off of this deck for now. I’ll be back to it again tho cause when it goes off IT REALLY GOES OFF

For anyone wondering, satellite cannon is played because there are lines where it's optimal to end your turn with wise stryx and satellite cannon (that you summon off of arsenal falcon gy effect). This is plan B btw, you mainly go for this line when you got interrupted and can't push further, your wise stryx getting imperm'd for example. The only thing you need to care about satellite falcon is that it is a quick effect, that's it, you use it's quick effect during the opponent's turn, wise stryx activate and set the new rank-up, you can activate it immediately using the satellite and brave stryx in your gy, 8+5=13 you still get to summon rising rebellion and wipe thier field.
