Super Soco TS (26Ah) Battery fault finding.

  • Taking apart a TS 26Ah battery and trying to find the reason it fails very often. There was a poor contact that led to a connection blade to overheat. The BMS balance cable connected to that row would show less or no voltage. Finally the BMS would cut power due to imbalance of cells. BMS was replaced by the dealership but obviously for no reason. They did not bother to look at the pack.

These videos about troubleshooting are amazing as learning resources. Thx!

Thanks to this video I bought a super soco enlisted with "broken battery". I bought it expecting to replace some modules at most, at least I expected to replace some connections. But it ended up just having some cells with a bit lower voltage than others. I only needed to carefully charge the cells bypassing the BMS.
Apparently the BMS was protecting the battery so that when some cells had too low voltage, it wouldn't let the battery charge or discharge. I ended up not replacing the slightly depleted cells, just charged them and put it back together. Now I have a battery that's about 80% of the original, but that's perfectly fine for me.

Hello, thanks for your video. Can you tell me what battery cells are used in this battery and where can I find them?

Hello, do you know the max charging amps this bms can take? Thanks

I have exactly same battery and same problem (I think) battery is completely dead, but it was working a year ago - but below 50% bike was going very slowly and it wasn't charging till 100%, inky 80% +/- 5%
I have no idea how to fix it and I will probably send it back to service or just sell it broken and take a new one

Hi my friend. Do you know where to find the BMS wiring diagram? Or where to buy it? I’m troubleshooting this kind of battery and I have making my own diagrams but externally, don’t have anything about the diagram. For example, there are four cables that goes at the side of the main output/input cables that honestly, don’t know what is its purpose or its function.

I only have diagrams for connections of the controller, alarm and converter.

If ones soco battery iis at 42 volts, and should be 60v but wont charge, can one fix alll the issues by just bypassing the bms and trickle charging it up? the battery was left without being charged for too long. and also how does one slide the battery out of its casing? it seems stuck

their is two screws hidden on either side of the aluminum casing under stickers , peel them back and it will expose the screws. i suggest if you work on Lithium battery packs too do so outside or away from a building incase a short occurs and causes a fire , stay safe

Mine often turned off while driving and sometimes it turned on again and sometimes not.
When charging it sometimes stops and starts again and again.
When I was in vacation it has not been used for 2 weeks and now it only starts when I plug in the charger from outside the bike (The Display said 0% in the beginning). I can charge the battery by pluging in directly into the battery and not through the bike but it won't turn on when pluging the battery back into the bike. Only if I plug the charger in fron the outside (The display says that it charged normally)
It won't stay on if I unplug the charger again
Do you know what the problem could be? I have no idea about the battery's inside

You need to open it and measure each every part separately. The best would be a loose connection. The worst some dead cells.

Check the balancing cables for a start. Then you must find a way to check the signals for the can bus.
