All you have to do to evaluate Larry's abilities is to look at what he's produced in his lifetime.....absolutely beautiful!!! We could use him today....RIP Larry.
I would have loved to have met this guy. What a gentle man. Yes, also a gentleman, but a kind, gentle man. But such a huge legend. RIP Larry. You are sorely, sorely missed.
There have been other stories I’m aware of about corporate red tape and frankly BS. It’s amazing anything got or gets done. Thank you for bringing to light the history and important human elements towards the birth of iconic automobiles.
Very interesting , I saw the last race on the beach at the Inlet - I was 2 yrs old & my parents were timekeepers. (1958) My Dad went to high school with Bill France ...
I rode in a Boss 302 and I told the guy that owned it to make sure he kept it. I told him it was a classic already and would be worth a lot later in life. I was not a Ford fan(still not) but that Boss 302 impressed me.
I know of a young man very ambitious who is building a "Christine" all by himself plus restored other old cars too. He is currently in college and his hope is to be a car designer. I am buying a 57 Plymouth Belvedere 2DHT from him and he is using the funds to begin on a tribute car of the legendary Tucker. I wish there was more youngin's out there with a passion like this. Quit following stuff that's already been done. Make your OWN way~ I applaud this man and others like him like Virgil Exner who did Chrysler's "Forward Look" from 1955 to 1961.
The Monza GT was mentioned briefly but that was (still today) a beautiful car. The 1963 StingRay was a 180 to the smooth organic designs like the XKE and Porsche RSKs of the day.
Try to find a SN95 Boss Shinoda Mustang now a days. You just can’t find them, future collectors for sure. I don’t think SN95 or new age will ever be as collectible as foxbodies except for special editions.
As a fellow car enthusiast I've often wondered why Chevy hasn't done a retro Corvette of the roadster models. Adequately powered and up to date of course.
Hello & nice greetings from Bavaria (germany) & me, also an Auto Stylist/Designer, Classic-/Car builder & restorer, too 😀 I love your channel & even also the Videos about Auto-Stylists/Designers, Auto-Styling/Design-History & especially the US classic cars what are my favorit cars with also italian cars like Alfa Romeo, Maserari & young ongoing classic-present US/Italian cars that has build in the right things from the old days (4 example the 2006 LX-present Gen of the Dodge Charger with the Gen III HEMI V8, what even has these right things, like the right styling & RWD Design Plattform in combination with an push rod V8. What shows how high the potential of these american V8 with Push-Rod OHV valve train is, that this isn't "old" or "bader than D/OHC" engine Designs, it's even a very very genius design for an V8 engine in mass production, too. With "MDS cyl. Deactivation", with VVT & so much goodies build in with even this kind of engine design, done with only 1 camshaft that reduces the moving parts, and also the possibility of more parts that could fail for example. However, i love to see all these Videos here & also you, a very friendly guy with an nice Individual style & knowledge about these things, classic cars,...! 🙂🍀 Thank you for All the work what you & your Team have done or even still do on all these nice Videos 😀 I wish i had a better knowledge of cutting and making Videos, because i wish i could make Videos of my car projects and also my hand drawn car studies and ideas in a nice Video/-quality, because i think it was very very interesting for car guys....🤔🤔🤔 I wish you a nice Day & hope to see more Videos &/or hear from you?! 🙂 Cheers Till
Very good, I just wish you had interview the AMC/JEEP Designers while they were still alive at least on of the (Chuck Mashigan) was friends with Larry.
An artist and a businessman and a racer wow, really impressive and motivating to listen to these stories
More like this, Dennis. These men are the history of the hobby we enjoy.

Have often heard the name, but finally got to hear what the fuss was about. Nice episode.
I know of the cars he is credited with. But knew little more than that. Time to get an education.
Interesting to see all the work that goes into designing a beautiful sports car.
Larry Shinoda. The real Boss. RIP
Great interview!

Proud Man with integrity hope this Interview is in the U.S Library of Congress
I studied under an old school graphic designer that was Larry's friend. I actually had burgers with him in Long Beach Ca in the early 90's.
Burger King? Micky D's?...Shake Shack??🤔
@@matrox it was a place called Del Amo burger. Independent burger house, not too shabby. Larry ate a Chilli Size..

He seems like a pretty good guy.
Excellent! More please Dennis.
Good interview... this man designed what I consider the most beautiful American car ever...the mid-year Corvette. Thank you Mr. Shinoda!

What an incredibly talented man, and what a great life’s journey! Thank you for sharing this.
Great history lesson!
Very interesting story. The real deal behind the scenes.
Form follows function. That’s the right way to design something. Almost always comes out looking great.
amazing story of historic greatness.
Great interview! One of my favorite "car guys".

Shinoda was in a Japanese internment camp during WW2.
