Even if they are fathers, they will always be written as useless or incompetent, just to make the mother/wife look better by comparison. Having strong male figures, especially father figures is becoming a rarity now days in western entertainment. Only place that has good father roles in today's entertainment is of course Japan.

I love their relationship and I especially love how they never made it such a big deal that Drake wasn’t her biological father. They wrote the characters as if they were actually related by blood. And it works because love is all a child needs. I was raised by an adopted father too. (Though he married my biological mother) and our relationship was just like these two. No blood between us but the way we acted, no one could tell.
I know the feeling mine used me for money sold my vehicle behind my back. Took my dogs from me when they moved and disowned me all cause I didn't wanna love with en and stay where I was. Didnt even care that I came to visit when he was in the hospital straight up went to asking for rent money which i already payed then a conversation with my now husband about boats the worked on for the military... Who time i was there I'd love to have a damily like the Mcducks or mallards be nice to see what its like to be finally cared and respected for once
