Brilliant video on Filmways, Jonty! I remembered to come back to watch this one since I used the Filmways logo symbol (1981-83) to create my T of Wonder logo symbol. Since my logo history on Filmways was made in July 2018, there's more rare finds here! The slow music variant at 3:54 is something I have never seen before in my life, and it is very interesting. It's cool to hear a HQ version of the music in the logo at 4:38, for some reason I sometimes used that music to end my logo videos back in mid-late 2016. My favourite logo in the video has got to be the second logo from Filmways Pictures, it's so elegant! Nice to see the unrelated Australian company make an appearance as well, and I always thought the Australia continent at the bottom-right of the logo at 7:54 was a screen-bug until I noticed it faded out with the logo at the end. This is one of my favourite logo histories from you this year, I really enjoyed it! Looking forward to your video on SBT, and it's nearly 2022 now! Wow.
Really glad to hear that this is one of your favorite logo histories from me this year! I knew you'd like it! The slow music variant of the 1977 logo is quite interesting. I didn't know about it either until I found out on the CLG Wiki. The music at 4:38 is quite catchy! The Filmways Pictures logo is definitely brilliant! Really good animation for 1981. Not gonna lie, the Filmways Home Video logo from Australia is oddly relaxing! I'm also surprised it's nearly 2022! The year I'll be starting senior year of high school!
I missed the premiere but I enjoyed the video, this is the second time when you mention me in a video, the first time when you mentioned me in a video was when you took ideas from users to create Nestle Crunch memes. Anyways, nice video and merry christmas!
Does anyone know if the Carolyn Jones saying Filmways logo and the Max Jr. Telling Ellie to shut up really exists or no? Wikipedia saids it does but I still hasn't heard it.
First Joanna Lopez and now Deangelo McNeil. Missing kids and lost media are beginning to become a package deal. There’s some info on Deangelo: sadly he’s still missing without a trace. 😢
Filmways, Inc. (also known as Filmways Pictures and Filmways Television) was a television and film production company founded by American film executive Martin Ransohoff and Edwin Kasper in 1952.[1] It is probably best remembered as the production company of CBS’ “rural comedies” of the 1960s, including Mister Ed, The Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction, and Green Acres, as well as the comedy-drama The Trials of O'Brien, the western Dundee and the Culhane, the adventure show Bearcats!, the police drama Cagney & Lacey, and The Addams Family. Notable films the company produced include The Sandpiper, The Cincinnati Kid, The Fearless Vampire Killers, Ice Station Zebra, Summer Lovers, The Burning, King, Brian De Palma's Dressed to Kill and Blow Out, and Death Wish II.
As far as I know, Filmways had lost a lot of money in its last year of operation and had to sell off many of their assets. Orion shortly bought off what remained of the Filmways assets, including Filmways itself. The pay/cable TV rights to their library went to HBO.
"This has been a Filmways presentation, darling." My favorite, I'm used to hearing that one every night when watching reruns of Green Acres.

I just wanted to hear Donna Douglas say, "This has been a Filmways presenTAYshun"
No one says it like she could
Definitely! I also am fond of "This has been a Filmeays presentation, dahling."
There’s a version with Linda Kaye Henning uttering the logo. The version from Ozzie’s Girls, too bad it hasn’t been found.
Merry Christmas, and I like the Christmas intro!
Happy holidays!
Imagine MGM reviving the Filmways brand...
"this is an Filmways presentation in association with Amazon Studios, distributed by MGM/Amazon Domestic Television and Streaming distribution."
This has been a Filmways presentation darling :>
I wonder if the Ted Cassidy VO was used on original broadcast episodes of "The Addams Family"? (0:29) (1:26)

How was filmways acquired by Orion
