I made this pie and I was amazed how it turned out ....just like Rainbow Gardens....the whole family loved it.....this is my go to pie forever!!,,,thank you for sharing with us all. Just a little hint....if you have coconut milk you just put it in the Refrigerator over night and then next day open and pour out any liquid .....what you have left is 8 ounces of Cream of Coconut...... Happy Baking
Made this recipe! I had to stop myself from eating the whole thing! It’s so good! I love the coconut flavor! This is definitely going in my recipe collection! Thank u!!!
Greetings from Jackson, GA! I enjoyed this video, and especially the recipe. The addition of cream of coconut seems delightful to this Southern Classic!

Have you ever made a sour kraut pie? Betty's Pies just North of Deluethe, MN. makes them. It is to die for. It tastes like a coconut pie. It is WONDERFUL.
Thank you for this easy recipe. Looks sooo good!!! I am going to try to make this today. I will have to use coconut because that is all I have on hand. Yummm
I'm watching this from the UK and it looks *amazing* . However can you explain what biscuit mix is. I don't think we have it over here. I'm waiting in anticipation because I am eager to make this gorgeous looking pie.
Biscuit mix is called Bisquick here in the US. It is basically a mix of flour, salt, baking powder, and hydrogenated oil. Pancake mix is very similar but might be a little sweeter.. You can find many DIY creations for Bisquick online.
My Mum found this recipe in the mid70's. Minus the the cream of coconut. Plus a recipe for pumpkin pie. As a little kid I never liked coconut until this pie.
Hey y'all! A viewer let me know that when she substituted the flour, salt, and baking powder for the baking mix, the crust did NOT form. I've only used baking mix for this recipe, so I cannot attest to whether the flour will work too but I included it because it was in one of my grandmother's recipes.
She added baking powder to the flour so it was more like a biscuit mix. She added one more ingredient but I forget what it was. Maybe salt? She mentioned it though.
It is in the drinks/mixers section at the grocery store. Or you can try to find this: www.amazon.com/Ancel-Grated-Coconut/dp/B008G0408Y/ref=sr_1_14?dchild=1&keywords=grated+coconut&qid=1607104875&sr=8-14

Thank you for your kind and nice presentation of one of my favourite (to be) pie (I LOVE coconut) However, the accent of your English is a bit awkward, uneasy to the ear... wonder what part of America comes that ! Hadn't been due to that accent I'd have put a 👍🏼. 😉
No. You can also use coconut flakes. What my grandma used can be found at the grocery store where the bartending supplies/mixers are located. However, it is sometimes put with baking products around this time of year too.

It is amazing how much you resemble your grandmother, she was beautiful
Thank you so much!
How about raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg instead of coconut? Thanks for sharing from Nova Scotia
mmm .. that sounds lovely! I was thinking the nutmeg would be an addition I would make, as it's like a custard pie ..
Thanks for sharing. But I wonder why you didn't put granulated coconut?!!
Yummy

Emmy made one with that and it worked.
Flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda
I have good results with 2% milk or buttermilk as well.
Where is the flake coconut?
my husband would LOVE this pie, however, me and coconut don’t get along too well 😔...are there any suggestions for improvising?
I would love to make this pie but I don't have a blender. Won't a hand mixer work for this as well?
Probably, I do not see why not
I made a pie yesterday and today when my daughter cut it. She's like omg it smells like rotten eggs and it tasted like eggs. Did I overbake it?
What might happen if you used a whole 15 ounce can of the coconut and reduced the milk to compensate?
Why have I not found this channel earlier?
Can we substitute the 3 tbsp of melted butter for olive oil ?
Is there a substitute for coconut cream ? Can’t find it in my area.
It is in the drinks/mixers section at the grocery store.

Did I see, "The Shroud of Turin" at the 2:06 mark?
I cannot wait for "overnight" perhaps "Mamaw's miracle pudding"

I have never heard of cream of coconut, where do you find it, and what could I use if I can't find it?
It's a can usually in the ethnic food section with chinese foods or hispanic foods. It's super expensive
Mine is literally in the oven at this very moment
Wonderful!

The impossible pumpkin pie is my absolute favorite especially because I hate pie crust, I mean absolutely hate it.
I don't like pie crust either.
I bet this has an eggy taste... YUK!!!!
A little bitter. Must be the Protestantism.

I needed a Recipe not Bible Study
is cream of coconut the same as coconut milk?
