Like a lot of other people, I automatically assumed this was a huge channel based on the great production quality. I almost never leave comments, but I definitely wanna add to the interactions with this video/ your channel. Amazing game and commentary!
When I was reading this I was like “what is he talking about?” Because I read the subscriber count as 1.45 million instead of 1.45 thousand and didn’t question it at all
This is amazing! Using the sensory clutter of the busy streets and the ever growing media presence to elevate the already frustrating game was brilliant and more than suitable for his situation
I always interpreted "2nd person game" as a 3rd person, but with the camera facing the face of the character. I imagine it all as the levels of a dialogue. The 1st person is obviously "You", the world seen from your eyes. The world seen from the 2nd person is how you look from your friends perspective when you talk to them. 3rd person is how it looks from a bystanders viewpoint, usually from behind since they are not part of the dialogue.
There’s a lot of different interpretations but how I see, or rather, what I know about the bases of 2nd person is 1st is the perspective of your eyes, 3rd is from another’s eyes but 2nd is “your eyes looking at you.” In a sense, it’s something like reading a choose your own adventure and the word “you.”is used a lot. Or something like dungeons and dragons. You control it, but you are also having it described to you.
I would interpret it as telling the story from someone else's perspective, while that someone else is also part of the story. For example, Final Fantasy 15 isn't really about the prince's fate, but more about the story of all the people he met along the way, and it's the way the prince is involved in the whole story that makes the story work.
You did an incredible job. This is really an art piece, a reflection of society and puts the player in the literal shoes of the developer. I would add checkpoints, though, so people can experience the ending. Starting from the beginning every time is infuriating. Though a difficulty selector, with or without checkpoints, would allow you to keep your original vision.
@@emeralgamedev I think what would have made it better is if the phone moved slightly. It would make it more "second person" and immersive. See that Driver San Francisco mission.

Like if someone was walking beside him, looking at him using his phone and thats what we saw while controlling the guy thats on the phone. Either way this was a great video, cant believe its such a small channel
Buut, you are playing as Faby (Flappy Bird) as viewed by Dong's First person perspective. So your scenario would add yet another layer to the abstraction. That's how I was thinking of it anyway. Thanks for watching and giving it some thought, it's interesting to think about!
Wow this is pretty amazing, I played the original game for ten minutes and never really thought about it any more. I'm impressed the dude took it down for those reasons you mentioned. Great video!

this feels like a 704K sub channel not a 704 sub channel good work (the fact you got through 99 pipes is wildly impressive. I've never passed 15!) Also, you remade all the assets instead of just copying them from somewhere. I have no idea why one would do that other than to flex, and flex you have.

Really nice video in my opinion! Since the Flappy Bird release. I too, have been looking into Dong Nguyen, alot. His story and why he deleted Flappy Bird. This was a great example that you can achieve big things from a small place. Because u didnt spend thousands of hours on this game, but you achieved the most interesting Flappy Bird remake ever. Really good!
This is already a thing, somewhat. This reminds me of how a long time ago someone made an old Unity game where you had to play Flappy Bird and eat cereal at the same time. Don’t remember if Markiplier or anyone played it lol, but it’s a thing!
I was under the impression that this must be a huge channel with at least a million subs. I mean... the production quality is outstanding. I wish you the best of luck to outgrow all the reaction channels that don't have to work at all.

I also think it was awesome all the details that you have added to the game, and playing it is very smooth and relaxing Congrats!!
Awesome video! I think you might find something like inverse kinematics interesting/useful, it would allow you to position/animate the hands statically and have the arms move as needed. Looking forward to more videos!
This isn't really 2nd person though. It's still 1st person but your avatar in turn controls a 3rd person game. 2nd person would mean you control from the perspective of another person in the scene. Say you played Doom but saw through the eyes of the demons. To make it clear: You'd still be controlling the Doom Guy but saw from the perspective of what ever he's shooting at. Ofc this isn't really a feasible control scheme, hence you hardly ever see it in games. The closest thing to a 2nd person perspective is how in some RPGs, during dialogue, you see your avatar through the eyes of the NPC your talking to. Regardless a very interesting video. I hope your channel grows, it seems very underrated to me.
I thought the new element was avoiding hazards as dom while still flapping, such as crossing streets or avoiding pedestrians. And to win you had to make it to a certain place without flabbe dying
Such a creative idea. I hope this video is the start of some amazing channel growth for you. You definitely deserve it for all the effort you put into this. Good luck man.

This was really nice, though as the player is Don I believe this is first person, second person would mean that you are another person in the world that looks at Don playing
The start of the video is very much wrong. The game was pulled because the dude was making around 10-30k usd a day and the game used assets stolen from nintendo. It was either pull it out quickly before they acted or get sued into bankruptcy by nintendo. It had absolutely nothing to do with his good will or empathy

When I deleted it I didn’t know it was removed so I could never really play it again. I think it was removed around 3-4 grade and the rumor at my school on why it got pulled is that: An older brother and younger brother were playing it, the younger brother beat the older brothers high score. The older brother needed up killing the younger brother out of rage. Apple than saw this and thought that flappy bird was too dangerous. Also the notifications seem to make the game even more stressing, something I thought was never possible. Brilliantly done, thank you for sharing this video.
After he sits at the park bench you should have him run away from angry fans as he tries to remove it from the play store. Basically a huge angry mob of npcs while you have to use the arrow keys to run away and the mouse to go through the deletion flow
This is really cool, I especially appreciate all the effort that went into bringing the city to life. One small missing detail though: Faby should rotate depending on whether they’re flying up or down.

I love the concept of this, and this looks really good. Well done!
Clever and compassionate; I love this! Glad I found your channel!
After he sits at the park bench you should have him run away from angry fans as he tries to remove it from the play store. Basically a huge angry mob of npcs while you have to use the arrow keys to run away and the mouse to go through the deletion flow
wowww this is amazing!! from the game concept to the creation to the storytelling of this video and even the epic gameplay at the end!
For a relatively small channel, the quality of the content is amazing!
Keep it up 👍

This is a cool project. It was good video explaining the history. The notifications and voice to text was a great touch too.
This is really cool, I especially appreciate all the effort that went into bringing the city to life. One small missing detail though: Faby should rotate depending on whether they’re flying up or down.
Thanks for watching, and I'll add rotation to the next update!
