Yep, they're really taking the "Every shot a painting" idea seriously.
Feels like a pretty linear progression to me though - Clone Wars S1-6 < Clone Wars S7 < 'Tales...' < Bad Batch S3 - so long as we leave 'Visions' aside and of course 'Rebels' which was trying something different (and for me inferior but mileage varies of course).

It makes some sense that Ventress would know some Jedi skills like communing with nature since she was initially trained as a Jedi before her master was killed and she turned to the Dark Side. Also for the yellow crystal, during Dark Disciple she was given a yellow saber so she might've just taken the crystal and either found one of her old sabers and replaced the crystal or built a copy of her old sabers and used the yellow crystal.

I'm surprised to see him, in the end discussion, be so impacted and concerned as to how it affects the canon. Isn't he the one that always rips on fans/commenters who criticize or worry about canon not being followed? He always seems to poo-poo that, saying "come on guys! It's all made up! If I enjoy it then I enjoy it, I don't get all worked up about canon". But he got pretty worked up about this story and it potentially breaking canon. That, or it even not explaining her resurrection in such a way that he's satisfied and feels like a story (in DD) he really likes isn't negatively affected by the new development.

I really loved this episode. I thought that they did a really great job in just about every aspect of this episode. There were just so many amazing, interesting and entertaining scenes and moments throughout this episode. Again, the voice acting was perfect, I feel like all the voice actors were giving an amazing performance and through their deliveries they felt like they were fully dedicate and invested to their character and their roles. I thought that the writing was really fantastic and the animation was incredible and was able to perfectly capture the tone and atmosphere of whatever it was trying to portray. And the music for this episode was really great, I’m so glad that they brought the Kiners back to do this shows score, I can’t wait to hear more of the music they have composed for this season. I loved Ventress in this episode. Not only was it amazing to get to see her on screen again for the first time in like 11 years, but I think she was utilized perfectly. I think it was really great and very interesting to get to see her at this point in her story. I thought it was really cool to see her being this neutral type figure and I really enjoyed getting to see her be more tapped into the Light Side here. I really enjoyed the interactions between Omega and Ventress, I thought they had a very interesting dynamic that reminded me a lot of Luke and Yoda from Empire Strikes Back. I also really like getting to see this more wise and calm Ventress who is more in tune with the Light Side and more capable and willing to be a teacher. Again, reminding me a lot of Yoda from Empire Strikes Back. I loved the fight scene between Ventress and the rest of the Bad Batch. I thought the choreography was really great and it was really cool to see them start out by going hand to hand against each other but but then as the fight progressed, they started to use their weapons, including Ventress pulling out her new Yellow Lightsaber. I will say, though there were certain parts during this fight where the footage looked oddly sped up, I don’t know what that was about, but other than that I still thought this fight scene was all around pretty cool. Also, this is just a small thing, but I really loved all the creature designs in this episode. I know they weren’t that important to this episodes plot, but I just really liked the look of that giant shelled, Squid creature and those glowing Stingray looking creatures. I’m still really interested in getting to see more from Omega and her M-Count. With the way Ventress was initially trying to cover it up it makes me wonder just how much of it Omega actually has. And with Ventress saying that Omega’s M-Count will make her even more of a target it makes me wonder for how much longer the Batch will be safe on Pabu before the Empire possibly shows up. It was just so awesome to get to see Ventress again in this episode, I can’t wait to see her possibly return at some point in the remainder of this show, or possibly in some upcoming show in the future, either way, I am really excited to see where her story goes from here. I can’t wait to see where the ending of this episode will lead into next week’s episode and how it will impact the future of this show and its continuing story. I am still really loving everything about this show and I can’t wait to see the rest of the season and where all the characters and this story and will go next. I absolutely cannot wait for next week’s episode, I am so excited!

Ok... hear me out..... it's long, but it would work.
Since this is the last season for BB and Omega is LITERALLY the key to connecting the sequels and the Filoni verse.... She will wind up going off with Asajj and the boys will sacrifice themselves for it to happen. During their time together Omega starts to develop her force abilities while every episode is the standard mix of bounty hunting while being chased by the empire. Omega's training is thoroughly punctuated with wise tales about her time with Voss to give it that moral impact...but actually serving as a way to both explain how Asajj survived and allow Lucasfilm to capitalize on the Dark Disciple storyline. Disney then milks it for as long as necessary until Filoni can use a grown up Omega in live action along with AV. Omega gets tied into Grogu for cloning Palpatine. Asajj could then tie into Thrawn's storyline with the Witches. With is going to give us an amazing scene in either an episode or maybe even the big movie where Asajj and Ahsoka team up against Thrawn and the Witches that ultimately leads to a very deep symbolic situation with Ahsoka, once light..., now paired with Asajj, once dark...
Ahsoka's Yin to Asajj's Yang in a dichotomy of what is finally once and for all a true balance of the force. No Jedi, no Sith....only the Force in balance with nature...which if you look, has been Filoni's direction this entire time.
.... or it could have just been a one time nostalgic cameo to make fans happy.
    ... just sayin.

And even yesterday they advertised her Been waiting for episode 8 and number 3 are the best ones. this episode had me giggling and kicking my feet looked up an interview and one of the writers says how she survived will be in future content The pool Quinlan laid her to rest in was the same pool that was home of the creature Quinlan killed which generated the the the the green glowing water which is used for Magiks including transforming Savage, so until we get a more full explanation I will assume the waters brought her back. Bathing/baptism and rebirth is such a common trope it seems the most likely explanation for Wrecker having a Zeb moment when he was looking at the creepy killer assassin. I didn't know Boris the Animal was part of the blind wave crew. momma is BACK!!!! This episode and who's in it is an example of why I try to stay away from trailers. (Unfortunately made the mistake of watching this particular trailer when it came out) There's also the potential for degrees of Force Sensitivity. Everyone in the galaxy is very slightly Force Sensitive, it's impossible to be devoid of the Force in canon- it's why George Lucus disliked the Vong, they broke the Force. And we see people on the fringe where they aren't sensitive enough to actively use the Force or become Sith / Jedi, but the Force still flows through them and they benefit from this stronger connection. Han Solo and other ace pilots are implied to be on the lower end of this 'mid-level' spectrum, and Chirrut Îmwe is on the higher end of this 'mid-level' spectrum, able to meditate for short-term precognition a few seconds into the future. So it's very possible Omega doesn't have the potential to actively use the Force, but she could be somewhere in that 'mid-level' spectrum between Han and Chirrut. Love this episode! let the Simping commence The Goth, Witch, Ex-Jedi, Ex-Sith Assassin, Ex-Bounty Hunter, Ex-Corpse! MY GIRL IS BACK!
I will say, it was interesting seeing our heroes fight basically the Star Wars equivalent of a Kraken lol

I do love her facial expressions this time around. In the book Dark Disciple, they describe her connecting to the Force differently than she ever had and a peace that comes over her expression. This episode is exactly what I imagined it to be
That being said, am I the only person who thinks the fist fights looks like it's straight out of a video game? Like it's not complete yet? I was watching this and wondering "Did these poor creators get their budget cut out of nowhere"
On the point of the Dark Disciple, I knew that she died in that book but hadn't read it yet, so I quickly went through the whole story to prepare for this season. Get to the end and they've returned her to the water and I said "Didn't they call that the water of life in Clone Wars?" And aren't the Nightsisters always messing with bringing the dead back to life? So I'm not thinking her surviving is all that crazy. Like Maul, it's really going to depend on what they do with her, but I already like where she's at. She's not a full good guy, but she's not a bad guy either, and like I said, the expressions on her face are a delight to watch

I don't think that Omega has a high M count, because otherwise why would the Empire keep killing all the Jedi that they come across? Why aren't they using them for the Palpatine experiment? I think instead, Omega has something in her blood that accepts midicholorians or something of that nature. Because in the experiment, they were adding something to the blood and then testing it. I think they were testing if they could add midichlorians to a host body

Also seeing as she's a bounty hunter specifically looking for high M count bounties and knowing her relationship with Voss it's likely she is helping protect Force sensitive children and is probably still in contact with him as part of the path

Your faces when Ventress showed up were THE BEST! On the one hand, I wish I hadn't seen the trailer, but it did have me looking forward to your reactions to it all season! I'm happy believing that being laid to rest in the glowing green magic lake on Darhomir had something to do with her return. And her newfound balance and affinity towards living beings clearly reflects Quinlan's influence on her. I agree with Aaron that her growth has been great character development.

Yeah like you guys were saying for the most part, I think ventress told omega there's no m count just to make her feel like there's no sense in training so she can put that behind her and just continue being with her brothers, since the empire is after her anyway and clearly that's not going to change, that's the more important issue. Ventress knew that it'd be a one in a million chance that she'd even show any skill right off the bat anyway. I think she tested her out of curiosity and basically got her answer. She knows that she's sensitive enough to have communication with animals if she trained a little, and that could be helpful, but not enough sensitivity to wisk her away and make an apprentice of her. And definitely not enough to take her from her bros. So she tells her she has no m-count even though she didn't test her blood, because m-count means nothing to her. But it clearly means enough to the empire, and she's already on the run from them, so nothing is changed in that regard. ventress wasn't there to count midichlorians, she went there to welcome them to the shit show.
