My grandpa was a shoe shiner after he left the military to make extra money. He did odd jobs on the sides out of the business he ran which was a custodial business and grew that out while on his 20 year retirement pay from the military. He recently passed away and I remember fondly when we were at the airport in my home town he'd show exactly where he set up where all the business men who were on lay overs would come and he'd polish their shoes just as bright as he was taught in the military. That skill funny enough came in handy for me too when I joined the military and did it right the first time. May he rest in peace.
My dad taught me when I was a kid and he was in the Army. When I joined I taught some of the other soldiers, including my husband! 😂. I had never thought of doing it for money, but thinking back on it, I could have done well.
So reminds me of my Dad who died at 44 he taught me how to polish my shoes ,he had served in the British army in the second world war ,I am 77 and he died after the war of kidney failure ,I was 12 I still miss him every day but watching this brings back a lovely memory of a Sunday ritual before church
🤩😍 wow wow wow!! You are an amazing leather expert!! I remember my mom telling me how she took my grampa to a shoe shine man to get his boots shined before her wedding. 🥰. She watched with me right and knew the steps you went through. Amazing… you are amazing 😊
Just watching from the beginning to the end, watching the transformation take place is outstanding. This man takes pride in his work. What an amazing job well done. 🥾🥾
The classic old style buff and shoe clean very rare these days. All done by hand with a few tools of the trade .no fancy gadgets. Great skills and talent brilliant job
@@AngeloShoeShine First time seeing the channel and I am immediately impressed. You are 'reading' or 'seeing' with the touch of your hands, yes? The way the leather feels, sounds, reacts to the touch?
Ive been a long time fan of ASMR and have a very specific preference of soft spoken videos. I have never been a huge fan of sounds without voices......and that changed when I found this channel!! Absolutely mesmerizing and that's not even mentioning the incredible results of your restorations!! I could listen to the sounds alone for hours!! Thank you!!
I watched a previous video you made 2 years ago on boots almost exactly like these. Ive watched it tens of thousands of times at this point. The chisel action here matches the old video. Great job Angelo!
Beautiful job. As I watched it put me in mind of watching my father shine his boots and shoes. He was in the military snd they had standards to meet. Watching this was rather comforting.
I remember as a child every Sunday evening we would bring our school shoes into the kitchen and clean and polish them for the week ahead. That’s when you had leather shoes that lasted.
I've always worked in the restaurant industry, I'm lucky if the nonslip shoes I have to buy last 6 months from either the soles wearing completely out or seams falling apart in some way. Kinda wish I had reason to buy/wear some quality leather shoes on a regular basis.
OMGosh! Those turned out amazing! You do great work and watching you brought back memories of trying to “spit shine” my hubby’s boots when he was in the military 50 years ago! 👏👏👏💯💯👏👏👏
I came up with the perfect solution for cleaning shoe laces. I used a 6" long piece of 2" pvc pipe and glued a cap on one end and on the other end I glued on a female threaded fitting so I can screw a cap into it. I put about 20 3/8" ball bearing in it with the laces and some cleaner and shake it up like spray paint. They come out really clean.
This is difficult to watch, as i find it ao relaxing, i want to fall asleep. Getting a shoe shine, while seated in a shine chair is definitely one of life's pleasures, and yet so many people don't know this
I have those same redwings. Burgundy and the orange color. Love them. I can make my burgundy ones shine but I can’t do what you do on the orange ones. Very impressive!!
Omitted the Blowdryer noise, but mentioned it so we could stay informed. Love this guy. He knows exactly what to do and what we enjoy. If I could ask him a question, it would be "What got you into this business in the 1st place?" I'm always interested in peoples response to that quesiton.
"It was a crisp autumn morning in 1932, and "Big George" Henry, a towering man with a booming laugh and a reputation as the toughest dockworker in town, ambled down Main Street. The polished storefronts gleamed in the sunlight, but George’s boots-his pride and joy-were scuffed and dulled from long hours at the harbor. He stopped in front of Angelo's Shoe Shine Stand, a simple setup with a wooden chair and a box of well-used tools. Angelo, was known for his skillful hands and the stories he told while he worked. "Morning, Angelo!" George greeted, his voice a rumble that seemed to shake the pavement. "Think you can bring these old clunkers back to life?" Angelo chuckled and waved him up onto the chair. "If I can’t, nobody can," he said, already reaching for his brush. "But for you, Big George, it’s easy-these boots are nothing compared to the messes I’ve seen." As Angelo set to work, his hands moving in rhythmic precision, George leaned back and let the morning unfold. The street bustled with life: vendors hawking their goods, children laughing as they darted between cars, and the scent of fresh bread wafting from the bakery nearby. "You know," Angelo began, his voice thoughtful, "a man’s shoes tell a story. Yours, they say you work hard-harder than most." He glanced up, his dark eyes twinkling. "But they also say you’re a dreamer." George laughed. "A dreamer? What are you talking about? These boots have seen nothing but mud, saltwater, and the docks." Angelo grinned, switching to a softer brush. "Maybe. But they shine like a man who’s going places. And maybe, just maybe, that place isn’t always the docks." George fell silent, watching Angelo’s hands bring his boots back to their former glory. The man worked magic with his cloths and polish, as if coaxing the very life out of the leather. By the time Angelo finished, George’s boots gleamed like mirrors, reflecting the morning light. "Angelo," George said, standing and inspecting the work, "you’re an artist, plain and simple." "And you, George," Angelo replied with a wink, "are a man with a road ahead of him. Just remember to keep your boots polished for the journey." George tossed him a silver coin and strode off, his boots clicking confidently on the cobblestones. For the first time in years, he felt lighter, like a man ready to chase the dreams Angelo had somehow seen hidden in his scuffed leather. Angelo watched him go, smiling to himself as he prepped his stand for the next customer. But there was something about Big George Henry that told him this would be a story worth remembering."
Quando era criança com 10 anos fui engraxate mas, nunca fiz uma transformação tão caprichada como esta! Só trabalhei sapatos bem cuidados. Angelo, voce e nota mil! Este trabalho vale 50 dólares. Parabéns....
This reminds me of the days when I had to polish my shoes to a parade shine while in the military. It took a long time to get them to have that mirror finish.
I’d like to see you just do one boot from start to finish with the other boot left untouched the entire time. Just to watch the progress and see how much it changes.
So enjoyable to watch! 😅 Thank you for sharing. My old Chelsea boots are shiny like this.. much to my friend's amusement! I was always taught that your shoes say a lot about you! Can I please ask, how would you recommend getting the creases out? I read that you can steam the shoe with a wet flannel under an iron? My new boots have shoe horns, but I didnt have any for years with the old ones, and so where one foot is smaller, the creases are really bad. Any tips would be gratefully received. 😁 Thank you so much. 🤗🙏
Вроде бы ничего особенного, все процедуры простые. Но результат великолепный. А ещё почему-то очень нравится, как этот парень элегантно похлопывает пальцами по ботинкам. Очень странно, но выглядит притягательно 😂 Всех благ!
Hi I don’t if you remember but I used to watch you long time ago, I had totally forgotten about you until yesterday. I’m so glad you’re still going. I made comments on your channels couple years maybe that’ll bring back some familiarity 😆 Love the content 🔥💪🏼

I always have to skip ahead to see how the boots turn out before watching the full video, because I always fall asleep so quickly! 😂
I’m not the only one. 🫢
Sucks to be you!
Right! I was honestly surprised at how relaxing this was! 😮

I love that Goku is just standing there
Hes passing him some of his energy 🙂
I didn't even notice Goku until I read your comment 😂
That hamekameha must've been overcharged 😂

Amazing what a little skill and TLC can do to make the old look new again! Well worth the price of a shine :)
Wow, this gent knows what he’s doing. Brilliant. Congratulations sir.

You’re welcome!

Totally agree. Love the inspecting more than almost anything else. Wish it were slower and longer
