Seeing the driver often with no-hands on the wheel while moving indicates to me that the track tension must be set extremely well. Probably not an easy task on this vintage beast. It is encouraging to see so many people take such a tremendous interest in these surviving WWII panzers. The last few operational big cats move in some rarefied air these days and give me goose bumps every time I see one still looking and sounding like nothing else on earth.

Offensive language aside, the King Tiger was a mechanical piece of junk. It was too large and heavy for the metallurgy of the time, so suspension, steering gear and transmissions frequently broke. It always was plagued with very dangerous fuel leaks. Most King Tigers never ever saw combat as they broke down so frequently. The King Tiger in this video even though it's being used in light duty museum service has had its transmission fail several times. It was also very underpowered. On top of that, it was too big to cross that vast majority of bridges in Europe as its great weight would caused bridges to collapse. Not a good tank.

I was referring to the fact that most of the tiger, king tiger, and panther tanks were scrapped after the war instead of being preserved for history. Their destruction didn't have anything to do with winning or losing the war because it occurred after the surrender and end of hostilities. Look at what they're worth now! I feel the same about many other historical vehicles, planes, and ships. The US has done more to preserve historical ships than most other nations and they are very popular tourist attractions.

Ah the mighty King Tiger/Tiger II on the move, and a fine looking tank it is too.
Once men ran away from these beasts, now people from all over over the world come to watch the mighty cat on the prowl....:)
Forget the mechanical problems, which must be expected because of the technology the Germans employed back then to design and build the beast.
Was it effective, and a bit late to the battles?
Also difficult to transport, having to avoid most bridges,
I don't really know, but nice to see a fully working survivor rumbling about, and this one is kept happy with lots of love and careful maintenance to keep it moving, for our enjoyment.
But image the look of a tank crew in a Sherman looking at this beast front on, knowing that an 88mm will shortly be paying them a visit!
I liked how the yellow vested chaps were directing where the Tiger II should go, with the driver knowing full well, that he could drive it any damn where he likes...., and good luck with them trying to stop him....:)
It was nice to see the short clips of the driver er, driving it, as I hadn't seen the inside of one yet, but probably there are reviews of it inside the turret and hull on YT somewhere........I must have a look around.
The sound of its engine to allied troops must have been enough to know that this heavily armoured beast was heading their way looking for trouble...
    Thanks for posting this video..

It is indeed. How technicaly advanced it was for it’s time. As you could see how easy it was to drive such a heavy tank … If you liked this video, make shure to subscribe and hit the bell button to keep posted. I also have other separate videos where you can see The driving experience of other tanks like the STUG III and Panther. There is also a new video coming online this week of a vehicle not yet beeing the subject on this channel so far 😉
