+asrul safwan By category no doubt CX-3 should be comparing with HRV, but there's no point...with the price introduced in Malaysia for CX-3, might as well get CX-5
+asrul safwan Oh my god are you guys stupid or something. That was the whole point of the video. They are comparing the HR-V, the segment leader, to other options, namely the CX5 and Sportage, that have been priced down to see if the HR-V is able to punch above its weight. Yes the other two are from a bigger segment and that is why they have beaten the HR-V. Because they are better bang for the buck. As far as segments go, the HR-V is still the best B-segmenter.
Is it just me, or is there a significant improvement in this episode over the previous one? Well done to you guys, looking forward to more.

In the previous video where DRIVEN did a test on CX-5 vs Kuga vs CR-V, it stated that the Mazda CX-5 had 17km/l but in this video it's numbers was drastically decreased to 10.9 km/l. Any reasons?
Great show as always, guys. But I was expecting a Subaru XV in this episode too. Like a Paul Tan cameo at the end rolling in in a subie xv.
I appreciate journalists that make an effort to tell a story instead of just reviewing the cars and you guys did a very respectable job of doing that. Keep it up guys!

That isnt a GL. It's the top spec CX-5 fwd that costs 149k. GL does not come with headlight washers, and adaptive front lighting system with Bi- Xenon etc etc.

props to the creativity in reviewing the car, but its better to put a label on the car when reviewing it, it feels jumpy the whole video, ppl tend to lose track on which car is which haha... but still good job! keep up!
HRV engine is very revvy when the tranny is put on S mode. Suspension is hard but once seasoned, after 15 to 20 k km, is actually quite bearable. Agree Mazda is all rounder esp in terms of handling and steering feel. Korean cars , like Kia tend to have lighter steering feel , which is good for city driving and esp when you are parking the car in tight places , i.e. shopping mall.

not bad review! one thing that should add is drag race. even though they're not that fast, it's still fun to watch budget cars being pushed to their limits.
are you sure about the amount of fuel consumption...last time Driven test the honda crv vs mazda cx5 vs ford kuga....crv 2.0 manage 18.3km/l but this hrv only manage 12.2km/l...

You left out something, CX-5 is bulky, after a year of driving one, you would get fed up with the bulk. Which is not used 95% of the time.
why not compare hr-v with cx3 and asx?

hi I just wanted to tell that you all should have compared the hrv with subaru xv and Mitsubishi asx as there are more better competitors . The mazda is a higher price range and the Kia is to big to compare with hrv. I hope you guys will re do or don't make this mistake in future videos. Tq

how come the HR-V is being compete with CX-5?
It should be the Peugeot 2008 with same segment and close price range or the entry spec ASX atleast with similar price range.
+xiper86 ASX GL, the entry-level spec is way too expensive for its worth - only three front airbags and NO side curtain airbags at all, and heck, NO ESP & traction control (GL and the 2WD) - the best safety features are only 4WD instead........Peugeot 2008 1.6? 118bhp with 160nM - expect kiasu speedster Malaysians to ditch this kind of engine specification, to be honestly speaking :P :P and yet, loses out to the top-spec Ford EcoSport 1.0T which sports 123 bhp and 170nM (cheaper than the 2008 in M'sia)
Definitely going for Subaru XV over this 3 cars anytime

I wonder why you did not show the magic seats? That's the main reason I bought the HR-V.... In my country, both the Mazda and Kia are much more expensive than the HR-V, which is a much better deal.

no matter large or small suv, I prefer one with at least 4wd.
Actually 4wd is useless in KL. SUV can give us a good view while city driving. 4wd better in Sabah or sarawak.
