    Dude, this turned out so sick. The flocking sinking to the bottom turned out awesome. Love that rice hack, too!

      Haha yer there is a sneaky hidden frog in there but the footage was blurry of him going in and he was lost to the resin pour. But there will be frogs in the scatter/islands that go ontop

    This looked like a lot of work but the end result was amazing! The water looks great. I would recommend mixing a little bit of black in with yellow ink for nice swampy green.

    • @SebMakesStuff

      Thanks 😁 I definitely need to work on my colour theory for resin colouring. I never mix enough colour for the final result. And haha yer it was a fair bit of work, but I'm a little obsessed with having the most realistic set peices I can manage on my table. Sometimes I've gotta remember it's just for one game haha

  • @robot7759
    @robot7759 5 месяцев назад +1

    Nice build in itself, but my eyes keep tripping over the frame, but that's just me. Perhaps a similar green mixed with greys, browns and a few drops of black to blend the frame in a bit more? Perhaps you might even consider adding some flocking to the inside of the frame, perhaps even on top. Just a few suggestions, never mind me 😊

    • @SebMakesStuff
      @SebMakesStuff  5 месяцев назад +1

      I think it's a very good suggestion. The frame was a bit of an oversight and last minute paint job. But I agree, I definitely could have made it blend in a bit nicer. I only really even did it as a way to hold in the resin. But on future builds I'll be focusing more on the frame, because it does make a big difference in the end

    • @SebMakesStuff

      Interesting, never thought about mixing spray paint into resin before. I might have to test that out. I feel like it could make for some interesting effects depending on how well you mixed it in

    Great video! Can you provide the product name for the bright green clock you used on top of the water?

    • @SebMakesStuff
      @SebMakesStuff  4 месяца назад

      It's just a cheap flocking I got from a local hobby shop, I wish I had kept track of the actual product name. But it's basically just a small bright green foam flocking. I'll see if I can find any history of the actual brand, but I tend to lose the packaging for things pretty quickly haha

      Alot of that little stuff I have collected over a few years of making and painting minis, Any left over bits from sprues, and a good chunk of 3d printed tiny bits. I'll add the links to the 3d printed models into the description today if you have a 3d printer. Otherwise you can get a big box of skulls from games workshop for a decent price that will last you forever.

      I just got my resin from Amazon. Things to look for are key words like "deep pour" and "non yellowing" but I go for the cheapest stuff for can find usually haha

  • @billwumsen4108
    @billwumsen4108 11 месяцев назад +2

    i woud love to do that too, but it looks super expensive, to buy all that stuff, isnt it?

    • @SebMakesStuff
      @SebMakesStuff  11 месяцев назад +1

      The only part that's a bit expensive is the resin for large pours. But the rest isn't too bad. And you can get around a lot of the expencive things with cheaper varieties. You could easily skip all the texture paints and just glue down some dirt and sand then give it a paint. PVA glue works as an alternative to mod podge. And you can get static grass, Tufts and flowers for pretty cheap on Amazon. I like to go a little bit extra with my builds, but you can definitely do something close to this for a lot cheaper if you cut a few corners

      Im always thinking about making everything perfect, at best, from the get go😅. So the first thing that came to my mind was: "thats amazing! i NEED all of this." But first, i better get started and get the expirience!😅

      Haha I feel that! The perfectionist takes over. But you definitely learn more on the ones that aren't perfect. Even this build taught me a lot that I'll do differently in the future. 1% better every build!
