If you are likely to be a little sick what deck would you suggest and is it better to be in the middle of the ship? We are looking at the nicest balcony suites.
Yep. Mid ship and mid deck will give you the least rockiness. We choose this cabin and it was great for the fjords but we were very lucky with the weather!
You have to give them your credit card details in advance and they automatically take payment. Not sure about paying cash. You would need to ask the front desk people when you board.

Usually midship. However, you may have to pay alot extra to choose cabins allocated at midship
