As always, an excellent repair video by a top-notch mechanic Donyboy. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!!! Never a dull day watching small engine repair with Donyboy.😊❤
In situations like that, I coat the gasket in a bit of grease, that makes it stick in place while installing the bowl.
Good point.
Great info. Don, Thank you Sir ! I'm smarter every time I finish watching your perfect teaching videos! Thanks for trying again, you rock! God bless!
“So…that’s all there is, guys”, as Dony states. A little bit more diligence with your mechanical skills, and fingers, but you can sure do it yourself and save money. Who can argue with that? Just watch that carburetor bowl gasket and you’ll be golden. Nice job and thanks to Dony again. Well worth watching this video to avoid frustration with your machine. 👍
What a good video with excellent camera views. I think the black dirt on the paper was fine rubber deteriorating from the fuel line between the fuel filter and carb inlet.
Great video as usual. Seems like a perfect time to install a better inline filter and a shut-off valve.
Brilliant Don. And you got your lawn cut. 😀 Eric.
Get in touch Eric!
Thanks, you've taught me so much over the years! Quick viewer tip from this shade tree mechanic: if you don't have that tool to pinch off the fuel line I use a pair of needle nose vise grips with a 3/8" deep socket slid over each jaw to pinch off fuel lines.
Great tip!! Thanks!!
Thank you for a short yet very informative video.
Thanks for all your tips and advice sir.
Dony boy yo da man! Always a pleasure to watch your videos.
Great non-invasive tip. It’s amazing what effect a little dirt will have. In between mowings that will dry and make it worse.
Great tip and camera views. Black dirt on paper was likely from the gas line between the fuel filter and the carb. Methanol will deteriorate the rubber over time.
2:10 re. 14 mm socket , for the American viewers who may not have metric tools , 9/16" will do the job just fine .
That's a good tip.
Thanks Don, I didn't know about that screen I'm glad you brought it to our attention. I liked the camera shot you got putting the needle back in it's seat. Nice!
Excellent video. My neighbor has a 2 year old lawn tractor just like this and had this exact same problem from day one. It was in and out of a small shop and they couldn't fix it. She was so disappointed.I mentioned to her what i learned from your video and she must have passed this on to the shop. Now she uses it all the time. Thanks Don. One thing though, these machines are really loud.
I dig that screen out👍
Easy Peasy ..Thanks Don ..
I have one of those Troy-Bilt one THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO
Great simple fix. You save some much time and not have to worry about the coil.
Thanks Donny for info..it sounds like the valves need ajusted but that be another video
Morning donyboy73, thanks for sharing the information 😀 have to give it a try on my friend craftsman lt1000 mower. Have a great weekend 😀 🦅🦅🦅
thanks db .
Excellent video!
That is a strange way to place the anti after fire solenoid great going MTD for this brand of engine 😮
Yet another great video Donny.
How does the debris that clogs the carb get past the inline gas filter?
Very nice. Simple and precise. Thanks sir
Excellent video! 😀The machine has a fuel filter why didn't that prevent the material from getting into the carburetor?
Quick Question, if I may: Would a very light coating of grease stick the O-ring in place while tightening the Carb help ensure the O-rings proper placement?
Another great tip thanks brother
At time stamp 5:02 in the video, I would have put the gas line back on the carb and flushed clean gas through before reinstalling the float valve.
Wow, that's a great time saving tip, thanks!
Thank You for Sharing
Perfect fix, nice work Don 👌
Thanks great video
Great video
Interesting fix. Is the in-line fuel filter not working or is it an after-market installation?
Hi Don, what's your overall opinion of Powermore engines if you don't mind me asking. Be Well.
Awesome video buddy
👍👍👍. Thanks
Wouldn't a better fuel filter otger then that screen in that red housing be a goid preventative measure?
Good stuff, Donny.
Do you (or would you) recommend a finer micron fuel filter to stop this problem? Or would the finer micron filter restrict the fuel flow specified by Powermore?
Great tip. What's the part no. on the Snap on hose tool?
Good one Dony. It seems that perhaps that screen needs a 'poke' with a sharp point! The dust shown would have likely not plugged up the carb beyond it.
I hate to tell you how many shops will simply replace the carburator... 🤦🏼♂️
Hey Dony, have you got anymore videos on the Powermore engine?
I just a took a small mesh and drill a small hole in the screen which is inside carburetor never had any problems after.
you should have cleaned the bowl o-ring before reinstaling.
So Dony where are you from? as I'm a Fellow Canadian from Calgary AB now living in Georgia I am a Former John Deere Apprentice Mechanic who worked for a Franchisee Dealer
Is there a way to remove the solenoid or bypass it or something?
It was always my understanding that the gas level in the carburetor bowl was below the top of the bowl and the gasket was an air seal?
Very interesting, I remember that other video. There is already a fuel filter inline, so is this filter just too darn fine? Any way of removing the screen, can that inlet nipple be pulled out?
Good Info as usual... so my question is how to stop the dirt from getting in the carb in the first place...is there something like a hepa filter for gasoline to filter out any dirt any size...??...🖖
A proper in line fuel filter with a paper element should do the job , the red inline unit shown here is a strainer only i.e. with a mesh screen . Also it's good practice when decanting fuel from a container to use a funnel with a strainer and also I personally avoid all fuels that contain ethanol , for my two stroke gear , 4 stroke gear and cars . I take my ethanol in my beer , not my machinery .
@@Gordon_L that sounds good but paper filters are not recommended with some machines…also “don’t use gas with ethanol in it which also sounds good only problem there is nowhere to buy gas without ethanol in it…😩
@@setdown2 What sort of machine do you have that might not be able to use an inline clear filter with the pleated paper core ? Sorry to hear of your lack of choice re. fuel , there are ways to remove the ethanol , most small engines will not mind a slightly lower octane after the ethanol is removed.
@Gordon_L I just heard about paper filters from the beer drinking Canadian I think it was on machines with fuel pumps I'm not 100% on that ...yeah he said if it had the little red plastic filter Not to put a paper filter replacement...if I find the video I'll get back to you...🖖
@@setdown2 I think I found the video , called wow this fuel filter sucks ! Jump into the comments section and Steve replies that he had replaced a red plastic with a paper one no problem . My mtd is gravity fed , I put a paper filter and shutoff valve on years ago , never been a problem . I cannot think why it should be , fuel pump or not , perhaps Dony will jump in here . Edit , Oops , I was wrong , it does have a fuel pump , I just looked , it's never needed any attention so I forgot all about it. Inisfad is the commenter Steve replied to if you find it .
P.S. didn't the video start with a red mower?
Blue is better?
The red mower may have been from the 1st video Don made on the clogged screen. He just mentioned that the video got corrupted & he lost that video. So I think this blue mower is his second try to get us this great tip! Give Don a thumbs up & an 'at-a-boy' & a thanks for trying again! Cheers gentleman!
Are you deaf or ADHD? He literally said it at the beginning of the video
Seeing most people don't have an air compressor in their sheds. Can you use a can of carb spray with a straw to blow the stuff out?
You can buy a can of compressed air. The kind used on electronics, keyboards, etc. That should work.
why would the carb inline filter get clogged if there is another filter in the fuel line?
Who makes the Powermore engine?
Mtd makes it, its their in house engine
Hint…..they make egg rolls too.
I pulled the carb off of mine, & having the carb cleaned by a friend who has an ultra sonic cleaner.
will that jet be clean when it comes back from there?
To be sure it's better to blow air like I did.
I would assume you don't own your own lawnmower and that you use customers mowers after working on them. I would too!
Pay attention to what is being said
Power no more.
Install paper element filter on inlet fuel line above gravity never had a problem. Those red &white small filters are letting debrie get into inlet&plugging. Up screen. They are are useless swap them out for a quality filter why do u think the MFG of these riders puts them on!!! Saves $$$$ small filters are usless
Ll
Absolute junk. Will installing a fuel filter buy you more time till plugging? Can that screen be removed?
I think those motors are junk
These PowerMore engines are just such trash!
