My guess is it will come when there name is placed onto the planet select map. Also Useful tip for the harvester/tripod: They have two horns on the front, one on the top and one on the bottom of there face, if you destroy one there shield will no longer keep regenerating. If you destroy them both then it may also stop there laser as well.
