Yep - automaton gunships were added along with a huge update/balance patch today. The gunships are pretty comparable to the shriekers (flying bugs) in that they tend to stick close to their base and once it's destroyed they do not respawn. The only issue is - they have guns/rockets.... @@zunk1

Dying 3 times in "tutorial" difficulty mission, "this was easier than I thought it will be".
Creek Helldiver (9) veteran here. This was our “Vietnam” like experience. Lost so many good helldivers for democracy in that campaign.

Joined into the fight during the 2nd battle after gaining experience from the bugs. Had to learn to fight smart against the damn bots
Tibit is worse imo. First mission on that planet I had 6 gunships spawn and got squad wiped multiple times trying to pick up our quasars.

The first mission i got in in helldivers 2: Join a random mission, level 50 leader, go to malevolen creek, get my ass kicked in 3 times, complete the mission, be happy

HOLY HELL WAS IT ROUGH
Got our asses handed to us and went to fight terminids
A little later gave the bots a try again after unlocking the autocannon
Couldn't stop myself from fighting them until they were completely destroyed, managed to be able to solo difficulty 8 and team 9
Now they are dead and I am kinda sad)
Let's hope they come back to get their metal asses handed to them)

This is my favorite genre of Helldivers video. The ones where a new player is talking shit about it how this isnt that bad at all... only to slowly realize they're on difficulty 1 of 9. The slow "wait... what" followed by the HOLY SHIT WTF IS HAPPENING is my favorite thing.
Same. Though when streamers get bent they got blown up by friendly ordinance I get annoyed and hope they stop playing. Friendly fire happens. Laugh and move on.
Imagine what Helldive difficulty is like. I have experienced it many times, far too many times . . .
Im level 25 and still have only up to difficulty 7. Playing mainly with randos is just not the most fun for me on the high difficulties. I prefer 5-6 becuase even random group can do well but if your not carefull you can still get pretty overwhelmed.

I did the Creek from level 3 to 24 and played every difficulty. I never really touched other automaton planets and when we finally liberated it the bugs and other planets felt WAAY easier. Playing in Ion Storms, Complex Stategem time increase, 3 strategems only and increased Automaton presence was pure hell. 😂

My first time playing the game after the tutorial my friends brought me with them to Malevelon Creek with Difficulty 7.
I have developed PTSD.
My second mission out of training was the creek, solo. Best not to speak about how messed up it was. LOL
My first 5 missions were on malevelon creek. I bought the game just to experience vietnam 2.0

I did the same thing. I joined up with the HD’s to help liberate the creek. I had no intention, as my family spent many generations as farmers of E710. But I had to go. I have to do something.
Now that we took it back. Im on my next tour on Maia. We sure give them bots hell.
I didn't fight to save Malevelon, but I did join the fight to take it back. And I really love the aesthetics and terrain of Malevelon. Wish I could play it a bit more lol

Automaton side, there's "The Creek." Terminid side, there's "The Mire." If you want to experience something about as bad, if not worse, go across the galaxy and dive onto Hellmire. Terminids swarm. They don't have as many ranged attacks, they just all want to get up in your business. That's not what makes the Mire difficult. What makes it difficult is it's environmental hazards you have to dance around while trying to dodge those bugs getting all up in your business. I won't spoil what it is, you'll just need to make a second video to find out.

Kill missions need more then 1 helldiver, they just send so much at you. I would use the motor early game, it racks up kills fast to win.

see i was born on hellmire and raised on the creak so i saw first hand how much worse the creak was then Vietnam and when i say he hasnt seen the full blunt force of the crak he hasnt seen the half of it

Day 1 Creek Diver since going to bugs back then was impossible to play with other people cuz you couldn't que there for a time so went to fight against the bots instead and it was hell haha
404hrs in and I'm still loving the game, you'll be happy to know that bots are easier to handle now compared to before eversince they took out the scramble hahaha, the scramble effect was both the worse and best effect ever in the game.

Malevelon creek when it was falling is not the same difficulty when you play now. It was immposible to beat it on any difficulty. Now its just like any other planet with some caviats.
