    I'm still more than happy with my compatto with well over 20'000 shots and still shoots like new and has been my go to rifle for the last three years but this Concept XR could sway me even more so with a folding stock.

    I really like the look of that new cocking lever. I’m now thinking the Commander XR is the one for me. Concept looks great but a carbon bottle is a must for me, plus it’s gauges are in a much better position.

      Yes, I like the Concept lightness and being small, obviously a different usage than the carbon bottled Commander.

    Great review as always and nice to see they have listened and gone side lever. As it’s a .177 you really should be using the QYS pellets for testing am finding them amazingly good in an fx and would love to see how they go through other barrels. Think you tried them previously

    • @airgunology

      So far, and that’s about 3 tins, the streamline ones in the plastic tub are excellent and so far seem better than JSB exact or heavy and weigh in between the 2. The thick skirt seems to give excellent long range stability out to 50m

    Hi Steve nice to meet you at the show on the Thermal stand with Cliff. Like the look of this as its pretty much how I've set up my rifles over the years . Would actually like a shorter cylinder and Barrel but longer forestock with picatinny fwds more .( funny about saying the low shot count as we have been spoiled by buddy bottles over the last 20yrs ) . The butt stock is definatly the wrong one for how high the scope is . I believe these are FAB defence and they do a adjustable height version . Or a Magpul with clip on riser units which I run on my centerfire and rim fire ( have a look on my other channel FGYT shooting ... MODs PODs n Slings ). Would look good in all Flat Dark earth 😁. I would also like to see QD sling cups fitted ( again avalible in some AR 15 but stocks) . ATB

    • @alicew9327
      @alicew9327 4 года назад +1

      The stock is made by fab and you can fit there adjustable comb version to the new brocock rifles, my friend has done so and I can't put into words just how much better his concept feels.

    • @FGYT1
      @FGYT1 4 года назад

      @@alicew9327 it should be better just annoying that you get supplied a part with a new gun that isn't suitable and have to spend more money on replacing it with something it should have been supplied with from the start . I use AR butt stocks on several rifles in rimfire and centerfire all require a riser to use scopes and I fit ones suitable for that

    Good review. I agree with what a few others on here have said about QYS streamlined. I get 5p groups with my mk1 Compatto at 30m all day long. More consistency than JSBs and way way fewer damaged skirts. I don't put anything else through my Compatto now.

    I get the concern thing with the gauge in the front, but when I first get a gun it gets looked at 3-4 times. Then never gets looked at again, cause I know the shot count. So I'm all for keeping it simple and cost effective for the consumer.

  • @jackagain8346
    @jackagain8346 4 года назад +2

    I bought a Brocock and I had big problems with it. It leaked air after one week. Now it won't cock. Also, even if it worked the trigger pull is not adjustable and is like 3 lbs. It's un-shootable IMO if you want to hit anything. I bought an FX Impact to replace it. An FX Impact with a 600mm barrel would be the same length as that gun with much better muzzle velocity. Important with your UK 12 lb. restriction.

Also, another question, while the magazine system as you claim is top notch, when doing rapid hunts and moving around the woods, there is a possibility of double feeding the pelket, right?. Well, I’ve just listened to the review and it sounded unbiased to me, it’s a pity you had to spout negativity on free content.
      Being a content provider (as I’m sure you are not) it is very expensive and time consuming to provide content totally free of charge to you.he does it for the love of the sport and to help give information and advice to people like me. I watched dozens of AirGun RUclips channels and hundreds of videos, this channel is the best I’ve found. I doubt you’ve contributed to his costs which in my view gives you even less rights to criticise his content.
      If he gets given rifles to review because he is close to the distributor would you expect him to say no? He did also point out some negatives in the rifle.

    Thanks for the review. Personally, I think the best thing that ever happens to Brocock is Daystate taking over! They,Daystate, have their work cut out for them but it is still a big deal Daystate is now involved. I never once’s thought about buying a Brocock. One I hate the name. Really...BROCOCK! Wow! If my grandfather hear I bought a gun with that name...LMAO...very un-PC type man and very hard and manly...lol...you know how some of the old timers are...wow...yeah...that wouldn’t go well and a few insinuating statements would be made I’m sure...lol...sorry but that’s how he is. Just saying for those with those kinda of grandpas. Tough guy and would still kick my ass and he’s in his 80s and mean. Still the real matter is that they needed Daystates way of engineering and thinking. This will benefit all shooters. I do really like the side lever handle a lot and hope that style is put on all future rifles. Hate that style of bi-pod though...definitely would have went with the Accu-tac style SR5 even the 25$ knock offs are amazing and solid. The atlas V-8 doesn’t even hold a candle to even the Chinese knock offs. Had the Atlas V8 and in my honest opinion wasn’t in any way shape or form as good as even a knock off SR5 or similar design. Either I got some really crappy ones or they are just not as solid. Legs constantly collapse on both Atlas V8 genuine and Atlas knock off. I could just be an idiot also and don’t know how to use them correctly too...lol. For now until Daystate roots grow through Brocock thoroughly, I will stay with Daystate. The magazine is either loved or hated and the pressure gauge should have been put on the side. Some FXs are thinner and they can do it, maybe Daystate will fix that. Like you, I think putting the gauge on the wrong end is stupid, cheap, dangerous, and generally disrespectful from a customer concern standpoint. We all tell the manufactures to stop doing this and they do not. Very sad really. Thank you for the video and sorry for the long comment. On lockdown and bored out of my mind over this stupid virus outbreak crap. Take care and stay well.

      Sorry but I am not your personal venting machine or customer support for Brocock and have 12k+ members therefore I generally cannot possibly reply to everything sent to me.
      But on this occasion, I will.
      I don't speak for Brocock or others. Any issues should be taken up with them and not me.
      I did had insider information the XR was coming under NDA only a month before launch, like all press members.
      As with many products, it is shite timing dude. Many times I have bought items and 2 months later a new version comes along. That is how the world rolls.
      As for the bolt action, Brocock / Tony did not say it was a design flaw, just that it was something that could be improved upon and this is why the sidelever XR was launched. It is called product innovation and how products are made and revised.
      All rifles with bolts suffer the same problem when you start upping the power in FAC as the bolts become stiffer due to the hammer spring. Brocock recognised this and decided to move to the XR. Apparently this was 18+ months in development, but don't quote me on this.
      In the end, you suffered bad luck that you bought a totally good product only to have the bad luck that it updated later on. Same as when I bought my new car, 2 months latter a newer version came out. Again when I bought a new £800 graphics card and nViidia launched a new one 6 weeks later that was much faster. I had to suck it up as we all do.
      BTW : I am not paid by anyone, I do borrow stuff from DayState, Brocock and MTC as they are 25 miles from me. I am allowed to say what I like about their products otherwise I would not borrow them. I get some freebies chucked my way by all manufacturers, normally pellets, silencers etc.

    You know 70psi reaches 12ftlb right ? our rifles are anything but efficient, why are GLOBAL vehicle valve sizes all sub 4mm port size ??? why are videos about compressed air cars from a decade ago not on sale yet ?
    I told you information why 12ftlb is the law , it would make a good talking point with many comments....12ftlb IS to stop peasant youths experiencing the SOUND barrier! Why is my 225lb x bow +150ftlb but my hw97k is 11ftlb? Because 12ftlb will make some science happen and they dont want millions of young fresh minds tinkering with the sound barrier god forbide they go and advance wh1ite man travel / aviation !
    Arrows cant break 500fps currently, thats 630fps shy of mach 1 BUT would COMFORTABLY pass through 2stab vests and a man.....it goes entry/exit clean through a car in one door out the other...its legal because dumbing Europeans down on advanced ballistics is the only important thing.....btw pellets brake mach1 from a smooth bore , go try and find a full power smooth bore if you can . 11.6ftlb with 5gr lead free WILL sonic boom.....dumb the peasants down & make sure they cant own anything accurate at minimum front line infantry range 350meters...coincidently my 225lb x bow has zero accuracy out that far....but if it did they would be band .
    The people Germany removed are completely in control of our lgbtq iss hotbed country .
    Search our dangerously low birth ratio if you think im a nutter . were getting fkd my friend and all our men are faaaar to preoccupied with merch..

      urghhh....you're not allowed more then 12ftlb because it will allow .177s to break mach1 , they dont give a single toss about how lethal airguns are , they just down want anyone breaking the sound barrier..
      Why else are crossbows unregulated and can yield +200ftlb
      why is poxy 11.99ftlb the airgun limit? Sound barrier!
      I know your not this slow lol , i got 40 thumbs from a comment i posted yesterday on a news channel...people from all over the world understand my written vocabulary..
      The powers that be are stopping access to a simple bit of science on PURPOSE you SHEEP , blue pill means be a mindless sheep , you want me to be ignorant like yourself 😂 no thanks matey .
      Who told me ? A licensed gun smith...i tell you and all i get back is derppy derrpp wahh?? Im stupid to understand you !!? 🤪derrr

    Thanks for the Steve but what a load of rubbish. Customer support !!!! I asked you a simple question regarding your video and about Tony Belas clearly admitting the problem with 40ftlb .25 yet in their email to me they denied all knowledge of this problem. Sounds like you had a word with him because it’s strange how you mentioned the new car thing , he said exactly the same Dude !!!!

      @@markhoulding1938 You seem to be holding me responsible or semi responsible for this or at least your posts seem that way to me as it is all over my videos. Let me state again, I am not a rep for Brocock or on their pay roll and I am no way anything to do with their customer support. I am only answering you because you are posting this personal thing all over my videos.. I can only tell you what I know. What Tony said on my video was that as the power went up on a bolt action it began tougher to cock and so they decided to introduce a side lever as part of normal progression of a product. You seem to want to use this as some type of excuse to get out of your purchased that unfortunately was mis-timed to the new launch (That i can appreciate). It seems you are pissed because you bought just before this was announced and seem to want to let the world know and vent. Take it up with Brocock is my suggestion

    Too much introduction..a prospect buyer will see & appreciate how the rifle was made.
