Only when your violin makes that sound 👆🏻, can you hold your bow any-such-way-you-chose, and have your fiddle resting sleepily on your chest. What a stunning performance. 🏴 Thank you🏴
It is a great tune to learn and well taught by Ian. I wish all the Scottish Irish tunes were taught so systematically. Thanks Ian. Go Raibh Maith Agat❗️❗️
I love this version! I learned the bare bones version in college in 2000, and our instructor called it 'Tamun.' I was trying to find a version to teach my kids, and I really liked this. Thank you!

Not the standard, that is held by johns fiddle lessons. Which are COMPLETE. Ian does a good and I understand that he's in it for the money. But if he had a couple of complete ones I might be more inclined to purchase some of the other ones. He's really the only one on you tube that gives you only a partial A part lesson.
@blackhawk2055 haha your a long way from classical ;) haha but personally I think for fiddlers it usually comes down to what feels good and what feels right, I like to hold my bow around the same spot a him, maybe a little lower, I find it helps me sounds for fluent and percises.

its a lovely irish reel and not scottish? written by to good friends of nine back in the early 70s george furey and davey arthur while on tour in germany.....

@blackhawk2055 that is a "baroque" bow hold ole' buddy! But --- it is peculiar to old timey fimey fiddlers......

Thanks Ian.
How do you use the bow to get the drone with the other notes coming clear through?
Question why do you hold your bow differently with a fiddle then a violin
Can you tell me what Beats Per Minute [BPM] you set your metronome at please, thank you. Beautiful playing.
marinie toman 200 bpm is the normal speed for this. Some people play it faster but it doesn’t sound as good.🙂
Check out peakfiddler on you tube. He does a great version of it.
Thank you.
Hey would anyone know the abc notation for this tune on the4 string banjo? I tried the session but i dont really get it
scheissdreck! i love thattt
What's a roll and a triplet
marry me and play that to me for ever? ive never heard it played quite the way you play it. very last of the mohicans.

Anyone have the notes for this
how do you do the "rolls"? Fingers go too fast for me to see!

Venessa Nkurumeh called hammer on (on the guitar)
Why would he not clean off the rosin buildup between the f holes? Doesn't that mess up the finish?
Hey, as long the violin sounds good there is nothing to worry 'bout

Either it is not in tune, you have a cheap fiddle, you need a new bridge to get rid of buzzing or you need to practice more.
