I read this in a class a couple of times when I was in college, and I liked it, but didn't know what all the fuss was about. Then recently I listened to it on RUclips, but still thought it was alright. Then a couple of weeks ago I found a PDF plagerizing it and read it again. I finally got it. The guy that could see had such a bad attitude about things that he couldn't see anything. At least that's what I got from it. However, I sill feel Time and Again by Breece DJ Pancake is a notch above Cathedral, and it took me about four times reading it to understand it.

I'll have to check out Time and Again - Cathedral is on my list, but it's pretty far back. I usually pick up Raymond Carver when I'm feeling stuck. There's something about the timeless simplicity of his sentences that sparks creativity - a sparse environment you can fill in yourself.
