- Trying to repair my two Tamiya 1/12 cars. The quite legendary 959 and Celica Grp. B. I found a good doner car and purchased a 3D printed chassis kit. But here is where the story goes off track
Nice tutorial 💪😉
Having owned several vintage Tamiya cars, I sold 'em all owing to their inherent fragility. Nice to look at without any actual worry free runtime just didn't cut it for me.
The hard Tamiya Plastics are very brittle with age, good they do re-issues. But for some reason these have not come back.
Not really the same thing but I have an old Tamiya 1/12 Porsche 935 model from the 70s... decals are toast but the rest is mint... hope I can find someone to take care of it properly...
What a bummer seeing that 3D printed part all twisted up. Have you reached out to MCI to see if they'll send you a replacement part?
No I haven’t. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t like that when I received it, so I’m not having a dig at them. Somehow it’s got like that in storage.
hello i'm trying to fix the speed controller for the tamiya porsche 959 i need the red and black wires where can u buy the original wire for it thanks does any one have a broken one for sale where the wires are good thanks
There are loads of these on eBay. I’d just make some new cables. It’s just copper wire. Tamiya plug is easy to buy and fit.
Messing about with ultra rare and early kits just seems like masochism to me.good luck tho
Beginning to feel like that to me too at the moment too
i have to tell u theres 2 different tamiya porsche 959 u have 2 different parts you are using with the build there in the video so its not all original because the parts on it are mixed up on it thanks for the video
Thanks, I know. There’s actually a mix of 4 parts in there. Some are from mk1 959, some mk2 and some Toyota grpb. What I mean in the video is that they are original Tamiya parts.
