Yes, it’s brittle. Take your time putting it together, either tap the holes or add some oil to the screws and gentle put them in and you’ll be fine. I’ve used clear and chrome cables, clear cirrus servo, and made a clear case for my receiver. Paint is Tamiya translucent silver. Take your time with that. The dark colour is gun metal. I tried doing it with smoke but messed it up. Decals are from ...

reach is too long
The thing that I find interesting is that the chassis has the holes drilled for the stealth transmission. Thoughts?
Yes lotta rumblings around that the chassis is thinner and more bendy. Kinda glad i canned my preorder. That and the numbering nonsense. If i got 1 i wanted to build it from new since i only had hand-me-downs as a kid and to run it. not worrying about a stamp #. Oh well. -U10
anyone actually lay some calipers on them to compare or just going to knock it and leave it at that?
@@drewp9112 It's definitely a lot thinner. I don't have the new one, but my origial was much thicker than these look.
Awesome, need to get one....👌
Adjusted for inflation, the re-release is a bargain.
That is true. You realise how expensive they were back in the day.
Sweet...... Thanks for sharing bud.
The "Limited" marketing is just a money grab... But you can't deny it seems to work. You see these pop up on RUclips everywhere and people who aren't even interested in the car will buy one. Because it is "Limited"... Then these boxes will colect dust for years and pop up on e bay after some years. Anyways, i hope to see you drive yours later👍🏁😎
Don't scratch the limited edition pan lol Marketing gimmicks are out of control because there are no longer repercussions for outlandish claims. Just the world we live in. Enjoy your beautiful new car.
That’s it, it is a really nice new car. Just the cynical marketing is making me resent it! I guess any they don’t sell will become spares.
Do you frequently take your bike along when commuting via train? If it's folded and covered in a bag cover (for example the Brompton one), are you permitted to push it around within train stations, or is it strictly required to always remain inside the bag and carried by hand?
In Japan, I always put it in the bag outside the station so it’s completely covered and carry it. I just use a cheap ikea dimpa bag. I do this with both the original Brompton and the copy.
@@thebandit1974 So it's not allowed to cover it with bike cover and roll it by wheels?
I’m not sure to be honest, I just always carry mine. the saddle needs to be covered which I think is what I’d be pushing it with, so you’d need a big cover
I’ve just asked the same question on the Tokyo Brompton site
Mixed replies from the Tokyo Brompton Facebook site. Some people wheel but with it full folded. Others do not, so sorry, I’m not sure
Oh fantastic, Ive got a 787 and love it
I loved this review. How has your Aceoffix been over the last year? I've been looking for Brompton T-Line clone but I don't know which one. Also, I'm looking for a build with 20" wheels. That would mean longer forks and a custom rear triangle. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.
It’s been great. It’s done some serious mileage with no issues. Actually I’ve had some issues with the light weight inner tubes but that’s it. I will mark a long term review I think.
@@thebandit1974 Thank you. I'm looking for Brompton T-Line clone. It's difficult to find.
Great Video! Awesome Car! Which wheels did you use?
These cheap ones off of Aliexpress. www.aliexpress.com/item/32311088129.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.5.67661802MXzjAM
sounds like The Cure almost lol.
Haha just some free nonsense from Apple iMovie. I wish it was the Cure.
i have to tell u theres 2 different tamiya porsche 959 u have 2 different parts you are using with the build there in the video so its not all original because the parts on it are mixed up on it thanks for the video
Thanks, I know. There’s actually a mix of 4 parts in there. Some are from mk1 959, some mk2 and some Toyota grpb. What I mean in the video is that they are original Tamiya parts.
hello i'm trying to fix the speed controller for the tamiya porsche 959 i need the red and black wires where can u buy the original wire for it thanks does any one have a broken one for sale where the wires are good thanks
There are loads of these on eBay. I’d just make some new cables. It’s just copper wire. Tamiya plug is easy to buy and fit.
Hi, thanks for the video. How does your bike hold up now?
The bike is still great. I should actually do a review. It’s my most used bike.
What is the red Toyota and the Yellow and red Shell?
Ts010 Toyota. Their 1992 wsc car. Red and yellow is a 1/12 kyosho Porsche 962. Replica of 1998 Le Mans Porsche
What are your opinions on the stock engine that comes with this kit? Fast enough
Difficult question to answer. The silver can motor or the sport tune motors these come with are slow. I’ve run technigold and Dynatech motors in this chassis as well a brushless. The chassis will hand all of them. The brushless does have a tendency to take flight though. So if you want to keep them in good condition, keep the original motor. If you want to go more that 30kph then those motors have to go.
Thanks so much. Beautiful cars.@@thebandit1974
Nice build, Im waiting for my Egress! What are those nice slick tires???😮
Some cheap wheels and tyres from Aliexpress

@@thebandit1974 wow thank you for the link! You a really kind 👍
Hands down, the nicest RC10CC out there. The translucent silver paint and the black/white/silver decals were a home-run idea. Add the details like the motor wires, etc. and you nailed it, Nick.
A great build, I always thought clear plastic could be a problem with being a little brittle. At the price point better quality on some of the parts needed and no bearings as if they know it will only sit on a shelf. Like the wire and motor touch 🙂
You have a lot of patience! Great looking kit but with some issues it seems. You did a Great Job!
You did a great job on this build. Thanks for sharing it.
The nicest RC10CC I've seen out there, even nicer than mine! Lol!
Thank you. I have the advantage of time. You guys with the channels need to get the content out there. Still I’m pleased with the reaction to this. The huge amount of people asking me how to do it so they can copy it is both annoying and flattering
Very pretty but will you run it 🙂
I probably won’t, when building it I damaged the front wishbones. I’ll show what I mean in another video later
eta carai
Unique front shock😮🎉
What kind of wheel are you using?
Standard Tamiya wheels with foam tyres
hello Mr. Bandit, which shocks do you use on them. it looks much better
Those Big Bores look way better that the yellow junk. Out of interest, which springs do you use on them? They don't look like Big Bore springs...
They are the original springs off the yellow shocks
@@thebandit1974 Thanks. I did think that was the case :o)
Yeah them standard shocks, not good, made a nice job, 👍
Beautifully done!
She looks great, Nick! 🤩
Such a great looking iconic buggy
This and the Turbo Scorpion are my favourite looking.
The Fox is looking sweet, but I'm different I kind of like the yellow shocks 🙂but the silver does remind me of Blockhead cars.
A lot of people like the yellow. I mentioned on a fb page about doing this and there were loads of angry replies about ruining its vintage look! But I don’t like them so they’re gone 😀 And yes it’s Blockhead with being blockhead now!
@@thebandit1974 I think the reason I like the yellow it makes the cars stand out on grass a bit more for me. But I do have bad Red/Green colour blindness.
You did a great job on this! I love the way it turned out.
Wish I had the real one
Merry Christmas !
Happy New Year
Messing about with ultra rare and early kits just seems like masochism to me.good luck tho
Beginning to feel like that to me too at the moment too
I use to have this wild idea for my very old folding bike - 2 speed crank with no shifter. Today I found it.
Glad I could help! Happy new year!
Nice tutorial 💪😉
Not really the same thing but I have an old Tamiya 1/12 Porsche 935 model from the 70s... decals are toast but the rest is mint... hope I can find someone to take care of it properly...
Having owned several vintage Tamiya cars, I sold 'em all owing to their inherent fragility. Nice to look at without any actual worry free runtime just didn't cut it for me.
Great paint work👌👍❤️🔥 A new RC addict subscribed your channel 🆗️💚😉✅️
What a bummer seeing that 3D printed part all twisted up. Have you reached out to MCI to see if they'll send you a replacement part?
No I haven’t. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t like that when I received it, so I’m not having a dig at them. Somehow it’s got like that in storage.
The hard Tamiya Plastics are very brittle with age, good they do re-issues. But for some reason these have not come back.
That paint suits the car very well 😊 Incredible to think it's almost 40 years old 😮 👏🤝
Thanks. It’s a bit OTT for me personally but I think it’s what my 12 year old self would have wanted
The stars n Stripes look amazing on that.
I’m not too sure about it to be honest. I painted it with a view of this being a nostalgia trip. So it needed an 80’s paint job by a 12 year old. So I’m sort of pleased with it but my 50 year old self would be perhaps a bit happier with something not so elaborate
3d printed tires that’s cool man!
What a great looking classic buggy.
Thanks
How’s the ridding experience/feel brompton vs aceoffix ? Thanks
That’s a tough question to answer. I’ve got this bike setup more like a road bike. I ride it with cycling shorts mostly and I’ve done some big miles on it so it’s comfortable. But for a short 10km-20km around the city the original Brompton is better, you can ride that just in regular trousers and it’s super comfy. In terms of how they ride, they are quite similar with the Aceoffix being nicer and more responsive because it’s near 4kg lighter. Hope this helps
@@thebandit1974 thanks for the info. Still considering to get aceoffix external 7 speed fully mod or brompton stock 6 speed internal. Hmm..
@@Monster_Whale I’ve been riding both for a year now. I should probably do a comparison vid
@@thebandit1974 yeah.. u should 😄
