Absolutely a top video and trip Jamie and what a positive promotion on hunting samba deer that have adapted to the landscape in Australia so well that they are part it and without them the attraction to the high country would be lost for many .
Top location to hunt and even better when you share the experience with good mates. Loved it. Thanks for going to the effort of putting this together👍👍
The Vic Highlands are so amazing n special. Tha would have to be 1 of the best hunting videos I've ever seen, fantastic job guys. Keep the vids coming. Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
I remember mountain man. He generously offered himself along to attend any successful wapiti Balloted hunt. How gracious. Imagine winning the Lower Glaisnock ballot in the second period and having a total stranger offer to tag along because he himself didn't win a ballot.
Pretty sure that's standard practice for a few other experienced hunters that regularly get out and document the Wapiti hunting experience, we've missed out on far more ballots than we've won, only won three in 9 years amongst a group of 8 individuals.
Did you watch till the end? Good luck carrying a fraction more than we carried out of that place mate! 7.5 hours uphill with 45kg packs, certainly a hundred easier ways to get your meat.

Top hunt!
That’s some big weight in those packs! What are you guys carrying!?
A fair bit of meat and bone for Dre and Jamie, a shitload of camera equipment for Dave.
Do Sambar have good hearing? I am not sure if that was covered in this video.
Some of the best animals come to you when you have meat on your back and nearly back at camp after a huge day.
What season was this?
2016 August
Very disappointing to see people wasting so much of the animal, only taking the prime cuts and antlers.

Nothing in nature is wasted
