Great song from. The seventies
Hahaha! I learned how to do the bump to this when I was 5, before my auntie got saved; that was the end of dancing to secular music (that she knew about, anyway) for 13 years 'til I left her house.
Rest In Heaven 12/13/2021 🕊🙏🏽 85 Years Young
The very first disco song that ever came out in 1975😃
Adrianne Parker Rucker As far as I can tell, it came out in March as a single and later as an album track. “Reach Out, I'll Be There” by Gloria Gaynor and “Hi-Jack” [or “Hijack”] by Herbie Mann came out in January, as did the single version of “Express” by B.T. Express. Of course, there were a lot of disco songs in 1974, and arguably a few in 1973. (My candidate for first disco song would be “Armed and Extremely Dangerous” by First Choice, Feb 1973.)
@Adrianne Parker Rucker This song wasn't the first disco song “Soul Makossa” is the first disco record to make the Top 40 - Jul 21, 1973
December 1973
Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes
The love I lost
July 1974
George McCrae
Rock Your Baby
Adrianne Parker Rucker THE YEAR I WAS BORN

😎👍🏾
Oh man that was my jam back in tha day. If this song came on in the Club, and if i couldnt find a dance partner ... I'd crash n burn real bad 😕
Still a good one!!! Come on and bump!
Classic music.
MR JOE SIMON THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THE GOOD MUSIC THIS SONG IS SO 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Joe's 8th top 40 hit in seven years. This one reached #8 and has a great melody. Mainstream oldies radio never plays this one like so many others. They leave so many off their playlist to play the "same old stuff". This would bring back the memories of the listeners.
This what music sounds like
Get Down, Get Down (Get Down on The Floor) was a big hit for Joe Simon. I bet some rap acts are using this beat.
Joe you have the best music and I love your songs
I remember when my parents use to have house parties and this was one of the songs they played...The good old days nothing like those days when music had a meaning..GET DOWN ON THE FLOOR...LOL
I used to rock this on a jukebox growing up and it still makes me wanna dance

This was the last song danced with my mom off of we had a house party celebrating our Birthday in July of 2005 the 9th & 10th we're a day apart. She was battling cancer but it didn't let her stop her from dancing, going to church and have a few drinks on the weekends LOL
I put this cd in her CD player and everybody was dancing. My mom passed Aug 30th 2005 and whenever i hear this song or many other songs that she used to love to dance off of i always think of the happy and great times that we had together,.

Birthday girl
went to this concert in 1975 (7th grade), Albuquerque, New Mexico. A riot broke out shortly after they got on stage--I was front and center stage when all hell broke loose. Slipped out of the chaos through the back stage--ran into Mark Farner and hugged his long, beautiful, blonde hair!! Awwww--the memories (and it was a school night too!)
