    Love your vlog, learning PLO myself and this is so informative as well as entertaining (and hilarious). You are clearly a great player. One of these days you will have a session where all the all ins land, but such are the swings in PLO! Favourite poker vlog I’ve come across in either hold ‘em or PLO. :)

    There's nothing more annoying than when you yell out across the poker room something derogatory about the dealer, suggesting that you losing a pot is somehow the dealers fault, even if it is just in jest or a joke.
    The dealer simply turns the top card over. That's the extent of their responsibilty, and the ONLY impact they have on amy hand is when they cut the cards after pulling them out of the shuffler. They are simply the messenger.
    This is nothing other than a coping mechanism that nobody in the entire poker room finds funny outside of the guy feeling the need to yell it across the room to let everyone know that he lost a hamd that he was a favorite to win at some point. Oh my God, are you serious?!? You mean, in an Omaha hand the person favored at one point in a hand didn't end up winning it? Holy shit that is so incredibly fucking rare and you took such a bad beat, are you ok?? At least everyone in the room now knows that you lost a hand that you weren't supposed to, at least one of the streets, even though not one person cares, nor cares to hear someone yelling some catchphrase across the room to make sure everyone knows the reason they are stuck is because someone supposedly sucked out on them.
    Dealers work hard to run games and take a lot of abuse. Furthermore, the reason you have these games to pkay in where PLO games are evem capable of running smoothly is because of dealers that are very good at their jobs.
    Not that you care what my opinion is, but the people that are most respected as players are the ones that say "Nice hand" when they lose a pot, and that's it. Not the ones who berate other players, yell out shit about the dealer sucking as the reason for you losing a pot, regardless of whether or not it's intended as a joke that is never funny to anyone in the room I promise you that, and also not the players that are the loudest. I think you should show a little more class when losing big pots.
    Other than that I enjoy the content as there is not a lot of PLO content out there. You're well spoken and are capable of articulating your thoughts better than a lot of vloggers. You should be above yelling stuff out like that. Personally, I automatically attribute mental weakness when facing adversity while playing poker to anyone who acts like this. Do yourself a favor and clean this part of your game up. You'll be happy you did.

    • @PokerJeezus
      @PokerJeezus  Год назад

      Well damn, you let me have it. A lot of the dealers wear it as a badge of honor. Check a few vlogs back for the one with $320 straddles and you'll see a dealer named Ines cracking up
      She's the lady who flies across the screen cackling and loves that I put her in the vlog

    • @davidcoon6455
      @davidcoon6455 Год назад +1

      Like I said, this is just my opinion and I respect if others disagree with it. I didn't mean for my message to come across as attacking you necessarily, just pointing out how it looks to others around you since often times we don't realize those things when it applies to ourselves. None of us are perfect, myself included. I just think it would be doing yourself a favor not just for your viewers but also for yourself.
      But I will say that I am a poker dealer and I also play a lot. So I am around this all day every day and the reactions players have to behavior like this is the kind of thing they talk about when the person acting in this manner is no longer at the table. And never, ever in a positive light.
      And I've watched that episode already. The way that dealer reacted to the antics is definitely the exception to the rule as opposed to the norm. As a dealer the normal response is to just let it bounce off of you as if you didn't even hear it, just like any other form of abuse dealers put up with all day every day from players making comments suggesting its somehow the dealers fault that the top card they turned over hurt your chances of winning the pot. Usually it's coming from players that are superstitious about which dealers they "can" or "can't" win with, but for those players that act this way, they usually will resort to making these comments regardless of which dealer it is, just about every time they lose a pot that they figured to be the favorite to win at some point.

    • @PokerJeezus
      @PokerJeezus  Год назад

      @@davidcoon6455 that's fair, I really don't believe the dealers screwed me and I don't believe in abusing dealers either

      @@davidcoon6455 so you aren't alone in your feedback, and even my wife is telling me it's a bit much. Moving forward I'm going to stop doing it, although you'll likely see it in the raw hands I share from this past weekend, but I'll also do an intro explaining my decision to remove the "sucka deala!" thing. I appreciate your honest feedback

    • @davidcoon6455
      @davidcoon6455 Год назад +1

      Yeah I'm aware that you don't actually mean it in a serious sense and that it's an attempt to be funny. And admittedly I was probably a little bit harsh in my initial comments. My point was more to point it out since its something I see on a daily basis that just isn't viewed the same way by other players as it might be to the person doing it. So I apologize if I came across a little harsh.
      I think you do a good job and I mentioned that earlier, and I realize it's just my personal opinion, but I think you will benefit from from cleaning that one little thing up as it is likely viewed by a decent amount of other viewers as being less than professional more in line with the rest of your videos. Good luck and run good!

      Generally I employ a pulling strategy. There are so many people who just want to play BINGO for stacks preflop
      If I give in to that, then I'm pushing thinner edges, allowing the maniacs to make smaller mistakes against me
      By pulling more players into a pot I handcuff the guys who try and run crazy bluffs because they are facing 5+ opponents
      In addition, I keep the weaker players in, the ones who will stack off light

    • @andrewhuynh7277
      @andrewhuynh7277 Год назад +1

      @@andrewhuynh7277 the thing is that preflop usually at best you'll be 65/35. But more often 55/45, so the edge isn't that great

      Sometimes in PLO it can be correct to fold the nut straight with no redraws
      In the hand here I had outs, but was vulnerable to the flush draws and board pairs
      I'd call one bet there, but a bet AND a raisd and I might be getting freerolled

    Why does plo literally never go this way for me. When I flop the best hand I always get out drawn, when I have huge combo draws I always miss.
    On the AAQQ hand I don’t understand why you called. Yes you’re getting good odds but you’re drawing dead almost to nearly any hand. You don’t even have straight outs. Frustration call I guess.

    • @PokerJeezus

      Because it's 640 to win a pot of close to 2300. So we only need to win roughly 28% of the time to break even
      The SPR has me locked in at that point. Also, did you watch the whole vlog?
      I have the best hand and get massively crushed in the end by 3445 going runner-runner steel wheel

    u need to start pre potting ur strong hands

    • @PokerJeezus
      @PokerJeezus  Год назад

      I'm not trying to play BINGO preflop, that plays into the degenerates hands.
      If we play for stacks preflop you give up significant equity edges against these guys you'd have playing actual post-flop poker.
      So I do everything I can usually to try and keep pots manageable so we can see flops and then play actual poker, rather than flip coins for stacks, which is what all the degenerates want to do.
      But sometimes the game dynamics prevent you from pot controlling as everyone goes ham.
      I had a guy call off as the FOURTH all-in preflop for $1,000 holding QJ42 double s00ted!
      Good luck raising to "isolate" in Texas

    Stop short stacking with $200 rebuys trying to quadruple. I wouldn't rebuy for anything less than $1000 in that game.

    • @PokerJeezus
      @PokerJeezus  Год назад +4

      I usually buyin for the 1K max or sometimes will match the stack. But when people are trying to play BINGO preflop with any four cards, it becomes a game of "who can get the luckiest". Check out this recent episode where they were straddling and restraddling to 80, 160 and even 320:
      ruclips.net/video/ovIBje-lDQk/видео.html
      I bought in for 1K, lost that, started doing $500 rebuys and burned through four of those and lost 3 grand in under 3 hours and called it a session. These guys were calling anywhere from 200-600 preflop 5-6 ways. So you're going to the flop with 1-3 thousand already in there and no room to maneuver and play actual poker.
      When they're jacking the variance like that, AND you're running bad, it can make sense to buyin short because you can easily stack back up in a pot or two based on how crazy they're playing. I don't have unlimited money, so I can't just keep throwing everything I've got in a game that's playing nutso like that.
