Hi Barbara, I enjoyed watching this very much. Thank you for sharing❤ **A thatch-eave is a natural material of roofing that hangs over the outside of a house. In the context of the poem, these "thatch-eves" have fruit-bearing vines that run along them. This would give the house with the vine-bearing thatch-eaves a sense that nature is enveloping the house...season of Autumn 😊
It is coffin. It is one of my favorite poems. W.H.Auden had lost a beloved friend, and was mourning his loss.It’s called “Stop All the Clocks”. The Keats poem is called “To Autumn”, and thatch-eves are the words you can’t read. It’s referring to heavily fruit laden vines along the thatched roof’s edge. Joie’s taste in poetry is as wonderful as her artistic talents! Luisa has such amazing humor and freshness in her work! I can’t wait to see this folio come together!!! What a treasure it will be!💝💕🥰
So much fun to see the same pack of digitalis used by four artist and seeing their results! All different but yet the same! 😍❤️🥰 them all! Can’t wait to see how you put them together into one folio. ❤️🥰😍🤗😘
Thank you so much Barbara, I really really enjoyed watching you unbox those amazing and awesome ephemera items, both very different but, both really really stunning and gorgeous too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Can't wait for this exciting creation! I've been following all these great artists and to see each one come together with their talents combined is the greatest idea. Barbara, if you're the one behind this collaboration, you're a genius! You should be an ambassador! You sure have the personality for it. Love you all. 😘
I enjoyed watching you open the packages. They were so beautiful. Everyone is so talented. Looking forward to seeing how you put them all together. Thanks for sharing. 👍🤗🤗🤗💖💕
I am so enjoying this adventure with each artist. They are such an inspiration as well as yourself. Looking forward to more as you bring it all together.💚💚💚
Good morning, dear Barbara! What amazing creations you packed out again! I am so excited to see what you will do with all the wonderful artworks! I hope our expectations will not make too much pressure to you! May the joy prevail! Good luck and fun! Lovely greetings, Rita
@@49dragonflies You will do it! I am sure! Please be relaxed and yourself, that‘s enough! Except the time and the efforts. But whatever-we will love it.
It is so fascinating watching your unboxing of the ephemera. Each artist put their own stamp on your lovely kit and made it really shine. Can’t wait for the folio video!
“Maturing sun” which means that at the end of the summer the sun is older or more mature. And thatch eves are straw roofs which run around the top of the houses. We still have thatched cottages. I’m really enjoying this little series. Great fun and everything so different! Thank you . But the poems! Poor poems! 😂😂😂
I can't wait to see it finished. So exciting. Love the collaborations. All you ladies are getting to share your talent. Oh and the lucky winner gets a great gift.
Oh, this is getting exciting! I love seeing all the talented artists being mixed all up into one beautiful folio! Will be watching to see how you put it all together! TFS🤗
Totally gorgeous sweetie 🤗 so fun to see all the different styles from the 4 artists. Will be amazing to see what you make of it when you combine it. Big hug 😘
You can see this poem recited in the movie Four Weddings and a funeral. 'Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone' Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, Silence the pianos and with muffled drum Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come. Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead, Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves, Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves. He was my North, my South, my East and West, My working week and my Sunday rest, My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song; I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong. The stars are not wanted now: put out every one; Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun; Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood; For nothing now can ever come to any good. W H Auden
Joies envelopes pull forward to an open spot where you thought the tuck spots were. Cannot wait to see how you put this folio together , very excited.m! 🙂💕🦋
The flip down envelope has an extending pocket in the middle which is why it was only glued to the main envelope down the middle.... watching you struggle with it 🤣🤣🤣💜💜💜
I just love these collaborations. Each artist's style is unique and inspiring and I learned something new from each of them. Can't wait to try these new ideas. Thanks for organizing this. Looking forward to seeing the folio!
It's exciting to see how the same kit can turn out so different. And all of it so pretty! Very joyful and inspirational! Looking forward to more! I recognize the poem "Funeral Blues" from the movie "Four Weddings And A Funeral".
Hi this collaboration is so exciting! Can't wait to see the end result. One of the poems written on a tag is called "the funeral blues" from W.H. Auden. One of my favourite poems. This is going to be a very interesting folio! Love it. 💛👍
Two more talented artist friends! You're up next! I'm enjoying seeing so many creative ideas! I see someone else has already explained "thatch" and "coffin" in the poems. I want to reread the Auden poem and look up the other one by Keats!
Again, what fun and exciting items! You are right, Joie's tutorials are so calm and straightforward, they are easy to follow and so useful. I am really looking forward to seeing how you put it all together - that in itself will be a truly artistic endeavour. With baited breath ...
1st- you have some gorgeous items in your hands!!! They did an amazing job! I love this, everyone using the same paper but staying true to their style! It’s fantastic! 2nd- I’m thinking what are you going to do and where are you going to start!!! It’s so exciting! I cannot wait to see how you put all this together! 🥰
I think you may have to make a chunky journal instead of a folio. I can’t imagine how you would put that much ephemera in a folio. 💗💗. I’ll be waiting to see. What beautiful creations💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Love love the creations of such talented people! Martyna and joie did a gloriously entrancing job! I am all sure that Barbara my friend you will make a breathtaking folio as well! As everything you create is a masterpiece!😊🌼
Ooh I just watched Joie making those yesterday. Funny that the envelopes look so alike! Ah, I love that Keats quote for my favourite time of year. it says 'thatch eves run' in reference to thatched roofs and 'barking with a juicy bone' and yes, 'coffin ' 🙈. It's in reference to the 'death' if summer season and bringing in Autumn lol. Haven't seen Martina yet, love her whimsical ephemera! Will check her out later. I can't get enough of the glass calligraphy pen on your papers 😍 might have to buy one just to hold😄. It's going to be an amazing folio! Tfs and have a happy Halloween 🎃💀👻💖💖
I was so excited to see you would be opening the last two contributions to the wonderful folio you will be putting together. Surely you are also making six pieces of ephemera to add to the mix? I can’t wait to see the final work of art!! I feel so honored to even watch all of your channels. Blessings to you all. Please tell me about books you like to read. To Autumn BY JOHN KEATS Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun; Conspiring with him how to load and bless With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run; To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees, And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core; To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells With a sweet kernel; to set budding more, And still more, later flowers for the bees, Until they think warm days will never cease, For summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells. To Autumn
BY JOHN KEATS
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.
Who hath not seen thee oft amid thy store?
Sometimes whoever seeks abroad may find
Thee sitting careless on a granary floor,
Thy hair soft-lifted by the winnowing wind;
Or on a half-reap'd furrow sound asleep,
Drows'd with the fume of poppies, while thy hook
Spares the next swath and all its twined flowers:
And sometimes like a gleaner thou dost keep
Steady thy laden head across a brook;
Or by a cyder-press, with patient look,
Thou watchest the last oozings hours by hours.
Where are the songs of spring? Ay, Where are they?
Think not of them, thou hast thy music too,-
While barred clouds bloom the soft-dying day,
And touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue;
Then in a wailful choir the small gnats mourn
Among the river sallows, borne aloft
Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies;
And full-grown lambs loud bleat from hilly bourn;
Hedge-crickets sing; and now with treble soft
The red-breast whistles from a garden-croft;
And gathering swallows twitter in the skies.
Thank you❤️🍀
