Oh my...I'm tempted to have a go at this accordion style myself now!! Fantastic to see you having a go at the smooshing effect. I think it worked really well with your paints. Åh yes..such a super great idea..😍👏👏 I have been sick for almost 2 months ( not Corona and I am vaccinated) but I get one virus after the other..so I have only made a little tiny bit of stuff..but I miss it and I really think I could just sit in My bed and glue 👍🙂

@@korsgaardjournals1422 thanks. I live with chronic health issues and I'm finding that if I can craft then it makes me feel better. Eva from Bohemian Crafting says that crafting is therapy and I so agree. And when you don't feel like doing anything doing repetitive tasks is the best way to start, especially low brain power ones like collage or fussy cutting or making clusters. I also crochet and hand piece hexagons from the comfort of my easy chair when I'm not feeling well.
@@TealKiwiCreative it helps me SO much, your message 🙏 we have just found out what I am struggling with. And because of the COVID it have been a long struggle to get the doctors appointments. I have been struggling for at least 5 years and I was in a state that I was wondering if I where crazy. I got a depression because I thought it was me that was crazy and it all was in my head. But the pain in my body was real. It have been taking me a long time to accept that I will never work full time if I ever can work at all. It was a big disappointment.. but my crafting has safed me ❤️👍

I have very few Washi tapes mostly because of the cost I'm on a very tight budget for my junk journaling. I don't use them real often because I've not really comfortable and knowing how to use them. But when I have used them I've liked them. I am doing the handmaid Washi tapes with double-faced tape and I really enjoy making them and using them. Mainly because I can have a bigger variety
You have the best collection of deer stamps! I am also a washi hoarder. I have way too much and want to thin out my collection. Fortunately, for my granddaughter's most recent birthday I started her on journaling. She will get several of my washi rolls to use in her new journal. She calls it "journaling that's more fun than just writing." I love that!

Yours is the absolutely only Christmas video I will watch! I do not like Christmas AT ALL. Its a personal thing because the holidays make me very sad. So I've avoided any Christmas videos till now. You are my favorite junk journalist so I have to watch your video! Lol.

Hi from the USA. I don't have many washi tapes, would like to build a useable collection but the cost and my limited budget doesn't permit it. Still I try to buy a couple whenever I find I can do it. I love the accordion style journal and going to try it. Thank you for the inspiration!

I am trying to get out of that rectangle and square papers and more just random shapes. It’s hard! LOL! I have lots of washi and try to use it. I’m currently using some in a journal so that’s great. My son bought me a whole pack of different holiday washi. I don’t create while watching your videos, I enjoy watching while I drink my morning coffee. I love this project. I don’t know about you but I feel like I have so many supplies & products that I don’t feel like I use many of them enough. That is something I’ve committed to, using what I have before I buy more. It’s difficult because the new stuff comes out & it’s so tempting to buy stuff I don’t really need.

That folding up exactly perfect was so satisfying 😍 I’ve been working on an accordion journal too, but with frankenpaper like MegJournals. I’ve been craving more accordion journal content so this whole video was satisfying tbh!

I watched this video last night and started making one right away even though it was after midnight. Well, I say right away but I first searched high and low trying to find the paper I wanted to use but couldn't find because I had recently reorganized my craft area and of course the one thing I can't find is the one thing I want. I ended up using some banner paper and made it four and a half feet long. I thought I might have to divide it and make 2 journals but it all folded up nicely into about the size of a small hardcover. Looking forward to the next video. TFS.

Love the masterboard idea to start a journal with and also adding the washi before further decorating. And noooooooo I don’t hoard washi, 🤥, I just have a collection that sits perfectly perfect on my decorated shelf with all the other decorative craft items, that I just love to see when I enter my craftroom. 😂😂😂 I am getting better at not buying any washi 🥰 I just don’t look at the washi tapes in stores like Action any more. And I have finished two washi’s recently 🎊 felt very accomplished 😂😂

When I was young and bored sitting in Church (I was so naughty), my sister and I would fold paper fans like this. So I’m halfway there. Lol. I loved the way this turned out. And it even came out even! Can’t wait for part two.

Love, love, love this! I always craft along but am usually crafting something else. This gives me the best ideas. Love it that you only do rectangles. I usually do weird shapes and straighten them with washi. 🤣😂🤣

I have a glue book journal type thing, and I have pages full of strips of my washi, so I will always have a sampling of my collection.
Morning Barbara, I am with you my friend, I cannot "do" odd shaped papers, I never know where to put them!! Rectangles, squares are so much easier to place. I also have quite a bit of washi that is getting older as we speak, and I find it hard to use them, but, like you, I am TRYING to use them more, quite a difficult task. I love the idea of this accordion journal, it is going to look scrummy, already it is a lovely looking piece of work and I cannot wait for the next part of the adventure. Fun! I too am a rectangle /square collage maker. Sometimes I cut the edges but most often tear them. I do like adding circle images on top of the collage but have yet to enter the world of totally random shapes. 😂. Looking forward to the rest of this project. Hugs and blessings, 🤗❤️🇨🇦🎄

I like this accordion junk journal very much..
Washi Tape -- I have originally hoarded them, but I've gotten better about using them. USE THEM!!! If you keep them too long, it's like a lot of tapes, the glue-ness gets old and weird and you can't get them to un-roll properly. It's like a lot of art supplies -- use 'em before they aren't useable. :)

Oh I love the masterboard idea for covering it, my Autumn JJ is an concertina/accordian type and I'm really loving working in it, I did my covers in a masterboard style, I think maybe you could just add some more collage to what you already have for the cover. I love it so I may do one like this for my Christmas one too.... That paint was so vibrant... Gorgeous 🎅🎄💖

I love that you keep the washi out--it's so so beautiful (and ADDICTIVE to be sure). How are you storing it? Baskets? Pretty jars? I've started keeping baskets of supplies "decoratively" stuffed with supplies "out" on the shelves in my work area--every time I walk past my studio and see those baskets I get all warm and fuzzy-- 😍😎

I'm with you in terms of wanting my shapes to be rectangular; in fact as a rule I make sure my scraps are rectangular before I put them in the designated container!

I've made two accordion journals, from watching Meg, and I love them because they expand without getting that crocodile mouth and also I love that patchwork effect. Your idea of making a masterboard first is a great idea! brilliant for using smaller scraps. Like you, I have to force myself to use my stash of washi tapes. I don't know why I find it so hard to use them, because when I do I love the way they make my pages look. Love the smooching technique too. It adds another element of interest. I'm looking forward to seeing it all come together x

I have quite a bit of washi tape. It was in a box next to me, but I had the idea that I always use the same one. Now I've got them hooked up to wires and can see what I've got. I now use several types and have an overview.👍❤
I love watching your process of a new project. I sometimes forget about washi… I do use it and love it and am happy to use it up. I don’t need to hoard it. I will be trying an accordion folded journal! Thank you for your inspiration. 😍

I don’t have a huge collection of washi tapes. I have some of which I use only a few favorites. I struggle with knowing where to use it. It is not a go to supply. I just as soon use scraps of paper or doodling. This is a promising awesome journal. Love the start.
