Thank goodness that someone decided to actually help the antagonist get away from abuse! Usually they just leave them to be abused in these stories.

As a woman who has been divorced once and widowed once and is married a third time [very happily I might add] this woman needs to stuff her views where the sun don't shine.

I also am a woman who was married once (a chronic cheater) and widowed at age 72 (my second husband was a wonderful man who died 3 days after our 30th wedding anniversary), and this woman needs to have a strong wakeup call.

It's not just an Asian thing. My family isn't Asian, but there are several members of my family who married people who were divorced. Some came with children from their prior marriages, some did not. The parents in all cases acted like it was the end of the freaking world and the kids brought shame on the families by doing this. Funny thing is, almost all of the spouses turned out to be truly good people and the best things that happened to the family. Now the parents won't hear a word against them!! Amazing how life works out, isn't it?! 🤣
@@aec9174honestly, divorcing has reasons you know, reason is due to either unfaithfulness, theft, betrayal, lies and disgrace, everyone has their reason so, why do they judge why they have up the person, they must have a reason, think, talk and get to know a divorcey, don't judge because they don't need a reason why.

Also as a child of a single parent, depending on the situation, Erica is right about that (it doesn't always work out but a child needs and deserves two healthy parents)
First marriage may fail, but the second could last forever. It's that way with my siblings. One was married 35 years until they died within the same year. The other 2 are still going strong. Please don't use the same va for both sides. Never ever not help someone in danger.
My 1st marriage was miserable - I lived with him for 2 years it took another 2 years to get divorced (a total of 4 years ). My second marriage has lasted for 36 years with 2 years before we were married for a total of 38 years with the same man. A divorce should not make anyone a pariah!
My husband had a first marriage which didn't last long. They were young and split as friends, no kids. We've only been together for 30yrs, so I'll see how it goes before deciding if he's a dodgy divorcee!!!!

So many of these stories could end quicker by calling out the brother/sister complex. Like why else would Erica be so up in arms over her brother's relationships? It's pure jealousy and pointing out the incestuous undertones get them to shut up pretty quick. lol
There's a little thing called "denial" and another one called "unbelieving". Both are very dangerous on their own but combined.... It's nasty.
And why would Erica call her SIL instead of the Police knowing past history?

Regardless of how she treated her brothers wife, he should have done more to help his sister my mom was a victim of domestic violence at a time when there were no domestic violence laws no woman should have to suffer an abusive husband
Erica is a few fries short of a happy meal....when my friend got divorced she told him that "either you divorce me or we can still do the til death do us part' thing but one of us is going to end up in prison and that's most likely me soooooooo choice is yours"...When it was finalized we held a party that was bigger than their wedding sometimes divorce is the best action for your safety and sanity.

Charlie is also a semi - common name in my state, and Finance isn't really that hard of a job to get if you have full on experience in tbat field.
Now I'm not 100% sure on this rumor, but I've heard it's actually easy to get into Harvard now as long as a person pays a huge amount of money to go there, and even more before graduating.
That's judt a rumor that I've been seing lately, so I'm not sure if it's true or not.
But once Becca was told that Erica was put into a situation that could lead to a life/death situation, you immediately just put everything aside, call the police, call any/all relatives to endsure she doesn't die.
It's rather good on Nathan's end to call the police but Becca had dragged it out, Erica could've easily died during that conversation and the blood would've been on Charlie's and Becca's hands.
Charlie's because he's an abusive asshole that does deserve to be beaten to a plump can't see clearly/or just in a vegetable state, he wouldn't be drad but hurt enough to make a point across.
Becca's for just dragging out the conversation after being told Erica was in serious danger.
Erica is a little shit-head but no one deserves to be abused.
She had her phone in that bathroom will her . She could have easily called the police herself . Instead of texting someone
@littlewolf4387 A lot of people have had that argument in the past but it could cause the attacker to become more violent, it does still follow the same rules when texting too but it's easier to delete text messages than a call log.
Every phone is different, mine just doesn't offer that setting.
Plus with phone calls, the attacker can switch the situation up and make a false claim against the victim too.
Erica still fucked up, but she does have another victim to help her claim of him being an abuser.
I also just realized something, doesn't 911(I'm in the US, so I'm not sure if it's different for other countries.) Offer a text message option if the person isn't able to call them?
I know they dropped the 'if a person calls then immediately hangs up' because of too many prank calls.
I still stand by what I said, Charlie deserves a pounding.
@@missraven420Yes, 911 does have a text option. I had to use it once while a friend/ex roommate was dating her narcissistic ex boyfriend.

Or at least someone who could do a better job of doing different voices. Fans of the old Looney Tunes cartoons will know that ALL of the voices (Elmer Fudd, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, etc.) were done by the legendary Mel Blanc. So it's possible. The female VA does a great job on the acting part, ngl.
Why didn't she call the police herself instead of texting her sil? If she's texting that means she has the phone right there. Did I miss something?

While I do feel bad for Erica getting stuck in an abusive relationship I can't really say pity her that much.
All she had to do was listen and she would have never gotten in that mess. She got herself into the lion's den just like that no matter how look at it
All the teasing she gets from her friends is also very well deserved as she was practically asking for it. Honestly, I'm kinda surprised her friends didn't just ditch her before then but I guess now they get to taunt her like she did to them.
I also feel like OP was a lot more braver, empathetic and merciful than I would have been (emphasis on the word braver), even if it was her husband doing the call to the cops cuz if the rescue went wrong and Charlie got his hands on Erica's phone and found her number god knows what he would have done with that information. From harassment via text to literal stalking after tracking her down.
At least with that scare, Erica will HOPEFULLY think twice before opening her mouth and talk trash about people without knowing them and their backgrounds
I can understand Erica to a degree. Second marriages are less likely to last than the first according to statistics. All that said Erica has it coming.
