She even said would go to rehab and didn’t went to rehab!!! If waiting for punishment, didn’t even try to do her best, imagine if they give her something insignificant, she will never learn.
I lost my best friend in a drunk driving accident. He was walking with his family when someone kill him, his brother-in-law and injured 15 other family members including his wife. I have to sympathy for her. If the other sentences were shorter, then the mistake isn't charging this woman more, it's charging the others less. They don't deserve to walk free after such heinous crimes.
Yes I would feel that way if it was my daughter, what she did was illegal, awful and somebody died because of her. She has no remorse it's all about her and if my daughter did that I would be so ashamed of her actions. Just because you wouldn't want your child to serve time for drink driving and killing a young woman doesn't mean all our standards as low as yours.

@@mitchellsouphasith3763 I personally think that while the the sentence seems much longer than other cases, it was completely just. However, what does the victim being a bride have anything to do with it? So because she was a bride on her wedding day, her killer should be punished more than someone who killed a person on just a regular Tuesday evening? While I understand circumstances do matter and they sometimes factor into sentencing, this one shouldn't, IMO. Just because she was a bride doesn't make her any more important than all of the other victims who were killed on days not considered to be special occasions. It makes the situation more tragic, sure... but in terms of law, if you kill someone while drunk driving, I feel like the range in sentencing SHOULD be somewhat the same across the board. My best friend was killed by a drunk driver and the driver actually left the scene and didn't even try reporting it... still, the driver only got EIGHT years for that. My friend had just turned 17... her whole life was taken from her... no opportunity to even contemplate the thought of getting married or who she'd be getting married to, no opportunity to graduate, no opportunity to have children... nothing.... it just baffles me seeing so many people act as if the reason Jamie deserves those 25 years is solely because the victim was killed on her wedding night. She deserves those 25 years because she made the decision to drink & drive and killed someone in the process...that's it, that's all.
i agree. I also think that just blowing over the legal limit should revoke a person's license for a very very long time AND put them in prison. People should be very, very scared to drive and drink.
She wasn't just sentenced for killing the bride. The defense attorneys seem to be conveniently ignoring the additional two critically injured people! That was part of the sentencing, and to compare her sentence to two cases where the Defendents were under punished is absurd.
Rewarded for taking responsibility? This guy actually said this! 🤯 He continues to speak about the feelings of the perpetrator. This man is an example of one of the stains on the justice system.
Honestly, the dude won. Just by looking at Sam it's easy to tell she only loves him in the moment. Give it a few years and divorce was just around the corner. Ultimately, if this drunk driver didn't ruin his life, his wife was most certainly going to do so.
If a person kills someone because they choose to drink and drive, 6-10 years for someone's life is DISPICABLE and a slap in the face to the victims family!!!! Idc if she pled guilty, makes no difference to me nor should it make a difference in court. She really should spend the rest of her life behind bars! Murder is murder.
That’s not how this works if you don’t like it change the laws the cost of trial is great and they have so many options for appeals at that point this is a fair judgement all things considered according to the law now
@@jakemiller4411 Then maybe we do have to make everybody pay 25. And people are remembering the person that died, let’s not forget that two other victims are disabled forever thanks to her. The only time a lighter sentence for murder should ever be requested is if it was in self defense or defending another person. This was just pure selfishness and stupidity.
NO LIGHTER SENTENCE!! A drunk driver killed my new daughter in law only 13 days after their wedding. My son now has a life sentence (approximately 60 years if he lives to 85). Don’t go lighter on these crimes or there’s no reason for people to STOP DRINKING AND DRIVING! Society & courts HAS TO INSIST THIS STOPS - my DIL doesn’t get a second chance at life! How many people does someone have to kill? First offense, second… just NOT OK TO KILL SOMEBODY because of a KNOWN bad choice! We are still awaiting trial and my biggest fear is the offender getting off easy - that just punishes my son and family all the more. Why does the system protect the guilty over the victims?
I don't know the details of your case and I am sorry for your loss but we don't stick people in prison for life over an accident. Especially when the person has no history of committing any other offense. Institutionalizing a non-violent twenty something young lady isn't going to accomplish anything or bring anyone back. It's all just vindictiveness
@annebancroftsghost6098 that "accident" was totally avoidable had she not been drunk and driving 3 times the legal limit. Do you know how many times people get light sentences for this them get out of prison and DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN!!??
Eh, I don’t see this request having anything to do with privilege at all. This is a fairly common request made by people convicted of crimes in trying to reduce their penalty.
Life sentences for all DUI causing death cases. While I was a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer, I drove intoxicated, crashed my vehicle and received a year in prison, 3 years probation and a 3 year suspension on my drivers license just for that without killing anyone. I destroyed my career and my reputation for many years. No alcohol at all should be in anyone’s body while driving a vehicle. Including 0.08. Zero tolerance.
How did pleading guilty sister HERSELF? She would have had a better shot by going to trial. The judge has told all future defendants to not plead guilty.
Intent matters. She did something incredibly reckless by getting drunk and then driving, but she never intended to hurt anybody. There’s no amount of time that will ever bring the victim back. She plead guilty and spared the victims’ family the pain of a trial. Had she gone to trial and been found guilty she would have received the same sentence
@RSCSBIB Not the first time drink driving! Playing Russian Roulette with peoples lives, because she can't control herself. She has NEVER in her whole life been told she has done the wrong thing. Her parents are as guilty as she is!
It was still her right to go to trial. Also, and this is really significant, she gives up her appeals rights when she pleads guilty. This removes the remote chance of her getting off on a technicality,
Maybe re-watch the video ? They say why. If you get offended by the possible lowering sentence of this girl, then check all the other case were people were drunk speeding killing someone and getting 10 years.... That's the debate rigth here. She is getting 25 because it's on the news and it was more sad because it was her weeding day.
They will not, because the vast majority of drunk drivers don't think this will happen to them, and don't believe they are impaired. If you watch DUI arrest videos 95% of them are happy take the field sobriety tests believing they will pass, but fail badly. The other 5% who refuse to take the tests, know they are impaired and just don't care.
She FAKED her “remorse” and the judge saw right thru her. Saying you “reward” criminals for taking the easy way out by asking the judge to sentence them is so disrespectful to say. She RUINED and TRAUMATIZED that family cause she wanted to BREAK THE LAW. I don’t wanna hear about her “remorse” I bet the judge heard that’s jail calls and was disgusted
Of course she wants a reduced sentence. All this girl cares about and the only thing she has shown remorse for throughout this whole ordeal, is herself
If you fight the case and don't take cull responsibility and receive less time then you where rewarded for not taking responsibility. But that's only debated because she pled guilty and got max. Which is crazyyyyy.
The family, meaning her mother, or the husband who was the love of her life? The mother is now trying to delegitimize the marriage between her daughter and her daughter’s husband because it wasn’t consummated. The mother wants the money.
Exactly, and that’s in addition to injuring multiple people that night. Some will have physical injuries for the rest of their lives. Not to mention the mental damage to those victims and the multiple family members will have.
Other similar cases???? Not quite! Apart from the death of one victim, this tragedy also left a man permanently impaired and in physical and emotional pain. From prison calls, all the sympathy was for herself, not the victims.
"Equal justice under law" the defense attorney says. The defendant killed a woman, so shouldn't she be facing far worse than 25 years? There is NEVER justice for the victim when we feel bad for the defendant!
The justice system worked correctly in this case. The others it didn’t. She killed a young woman on her wedding night while driving totally wasted. I’m so sorry to the victims and their families. 💔
Sadly I think the family will genuinely have to worry about her sentence being reduced later on after the publicity has died down. They seem to think it not as bigger deal years later.
This guest says the 25 year sentence needs to be reconsidered? How about the prior sentences of 6 to 10 years, for TAKING A LIFE, needs to be reconsidered?
The sad thing is, she didn’t just kill a bride and destroy husbands partner. She also badly hurt him physically and other people as well. People who may never fully recover mentally or physically. So while she may be suffering, the rest of her life with guilt and in jail for 25 years they’re also gonna be suffering the rest of their lives. Now sometimes people remarry and go on and live in OK life, but this guy is physically damaged as well and will have to deal with that the rest of his life. You don’t just get over that.
So, let me get this straight, she should get a reduced sentence so the people currently in jail awaiting their trials/sentencing should feel better about their futures??? This attorney is a major joke!
I wonder if this judge would have these same consideration if it had been HIS daughter killed by a drunk driver on HER wedding night. She deserves the full 25 years imo.
@@amberstorm1139I don’t think 25 years is long for someone who will still have a life when she gets out. The victim doesn’t get a do over or her life back.

This “Drug Stuff” isn’t going to end by sending people to prison… addiction is a societal issue which has been going on for many decades if not centuries it hasn’t been solved by the department of corrections and will not be solved by that. Yes. She killed a bride on her wedding day.
State law says 25 years is the max
The judge can't give her more than 25 years. That's where people need to lobby senate and congress to change laws
