I remember watching this scene as a little girl. Felt horribly scared and never forgot. Well, I recently saw the 2017 movie and only then I could figure out the meaning of it all. Now I'm finally at rest...😅
Clever little child picking poisonous mushrooms acting like they are fine to eat like nothing is wrong. Saw this for the first time last night and I must say it's a very good film and yes it's been out a long time but never heard of this movie. Great film though and it's very rare these days I enjoy a film but this was class.
It was remade by Sofia Coppola (also called The Beguiled) in 2017, with (Colin Farrell, Kirsten Dunst, Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning). You should watch it to compare the two.
@@Anonymous-xm8ir I definitely preferred the Clint Eastwood adaptation of the two. The actors were much more interesting than in the later version. Ms. Martha's actress especially! 😂 Always liked her. :)
This movie scared the living daylights out of me as a six-year-old when it came out on T.V. after a couple years. What were my parents thinking, that I wouldn't remember or have nightmares?
I can't believe how they're ALL so North American. Can they cook? OR Can they cook? Got all those white boys to kill each other and only THEM to tell baby boy what truth is. Been doing that for a couple hundred years now.
If you are on facebook, she has a wonderful page full of interesting stories about her experiences in filmmaking and television. She worked with many major stars. She left acting at about 18 and went into nursing. She felt that she always wanted to do something to help other people. I believe she is also very active in animal rights and protection.
It would have been so badass if he was smart enough to escape that house where they were forcing him to stay and him figuring u out t their intentions would have been so genius
It was during a war in which he was a Unionist casualty in a Confederate State. What really would you have done were you in charge of a seminary full of girls and young women under the circumstances at that time??
Pretty entertaining film. One of my favorites underrated Clint Films. Next to Misty.
Yes. Play Misty For Me is a brilliant film.
RIP Elizabeth Hartman (1943 - 1987)
I like this version the best. Clint is cruel and sly underneath his oily charm.
Minus him kissing the little girl, it was good.
This scene was 100 times better than the remake.

Awesome Pattye Mattick as Janie! 👩🏻🦰👓👍 always remembered, never forgotten! 💐
Oh my goodness, I can't believe how much Elle Fanning looks like Elizabeth Hartman!
She does look like miss Hartman. Her voice also sounds like her.

which is funny considering that kirsten dunst was cast in her role!
Yes agree, she died too young
Elizabeth Hartman, Geraldine Page and Lucy Van Pelt !
