This should be a real thing. For the song's 50th anniversary in 2021, Led Zeppelin should commission 30 "interpretations" of the classic song for a box set. The artists would be drawn from all genres of music. Some of the artists mentioned in this sketch could be among the artists commissioned to do a cover. A 31st version would also be included on the set - a previously unreleased live version by Led Zeppelin themselves.

Bought it for 5 Neat Guys, the neatest (and many would say the definitive) version. Otherwise a mixed bag. Now I’m not one to complain, or cry over spilled coffee and cabbage rolls, but where are the Shmenges?

The Schmenges were too busy trying to sell their own albums!! 😂😂😂

Since I still have a player, I'll take the 8 Track, because I just love for my songs to be interrupted while the program changes :)

This is the reason that SCTV can’t get syndicated. Too many violations of copyrights on songs and other intellectual property!!😢😢😢

8-track, cassette, or LP...geez! I had all three for the Led Zeppelin I thru Presence albums. Remember when they were actual tapes and albums-that we could physically hold in our hands? Lord, am I getting old!🙄

I tried to explain this bit to my son, who has just downloaded the original on his IPod...
...but aside from not having heard of any of the performers being burlesqued here, the concept of a "NOT AVAILABLE IN STORES" LP (or the concept of an "LP..." he's never known anything but CD's), sold only on UHF stations, is completely incomprehensible to him.
    I feel so old.
    (Addendum, four years later:)
    It's on his IPhone now...
And the kids a few years younger than he is are now asking, "What's an IPod?"
    I feel really, really old.
