    It’s really a gamechanger for me with MSFS. I couldn’t play it 2 years ago because of the artifacts but now it works very well in normal scenarios while still looking stunning.

    I've an RTX 3090 ti, I got linksys Hydra 6e and I run DCS using OpenComposite to disable SteamVR without any problem and wireless. I set in the Oculus app the resolution to be at 1.3. A very decent graphic setting in DCS but keeping the resolution for the monitor low because I don't care about it. I use a sharpening of 75% in virtual Desktop and another 60% in OpenXr in game, not sure who has priority and how a double setting actually behave. I disabled the function described in this video and even in the Gulf map I get between 70 to 80 FPS.

    The best performance boost you can do is change the VR Bitrate. The default 200mbps is way way too high and causes nasty stuttering and poor frame timing. At least for normal builds. God tier PCs can probably handle it
    I would highly recommend starting at 70mbps. Frame tiem greatly improves and stuttering goes away.
    Outside of that, other settings are great

    How is SSW now compared to Meta's ASW? With meta airlink i have managed to get 72fps in most singleplayer scenarios in dcs but with use of dlss. Now wondering if SSW would have less motion blur than dlss it would be nice to use, and turn off dlss.

    thanks for you video, Seeking advice from you:
    I use Quest 3 + VD for wireless streaming to play DCS.
    I've tried to lower the in-game settings of DCS as your last video, and currently, the frame rate and effects are basically satisfactory.
    However, occasionally the 3D image on the Quest headset freezes while the image on the computer screen remains visible.
    I have no choice but to force quit the game. It's very annoying, especially when trying to view the map with F10 during big missions.
    I've already dedicated a great game wifi6 router for the computer and Quest headset, with the computer connected via Ethernet cable. It's confirmed to be a gigabit network.
    I wonder if you have encountered this situation? The VD image quality is great, but it's just not stable. It's very frustrating.
    Thank you all for your help!

After undoing everything in the video and even deleting virtual desktop from my headset and PC, DCS crashes on startup every time in VR. I've tried Air Link vs Cable, SteamVR vs Oculus, DCS by itself with none of my other settings or apps, nothing works. I'm lost because the game worked perfectly fine beforehand. Any help would be appreciated.

      It is caused by a conflicting auto update by oculus. There are old oculus logs that you can install to revert the update and get DCS to run again. ED won't fix this for probably a few weeks unfortunately.

    Explain to me why my quest controllers don't work in dcs. I play via virtual desktop and openxr. The game loads as VR, but in the menu I can only use the PC mouse to click, and when I uncheck the PC mouse option, it loads my Headseat as a mouse and the controllers still don't work. Of course, all game menu controller options are enabled. So maybe you know what the problem is?

    using the Quest Link is pretty good on it's own and spending 20 bucks on something else just seems silly to me. How is this better than a wired connection? I'm guessing its subjective because my DCS looks great and runs well too with the Link cable.

    • @AR_Parker
      @AR_Parker 6 месяцев назад +1

      It's typically more stable then the meta software. Both ways you are encoding and decoding it. In theory the wired connection should be better but in my experience virtual desktop provides a better experience and more encoding options

    • @bg.k.7000
      @bg.k.7000 6 месяцев назад

      Hey, kinda new to this myself. I have learned a few things though. Quest 3 is what I have. There are primarily 3 ways to play DCS for vr. He warned though, that over the last month or so there was a Quest 3 update that prevents using the quest 3 vr headsets. Back to the ways to use vr. 1, you can use a virtual desktop, a third-party application that you can buy to install on your desktop and headset. The way though you connect your headset to your p.c. virtual desktop is by wifi. Due to the graphics of dcs you need a excellent connection to your wifi. This most of the time requires updating your wifi. I bought a special wifi device to accommodate this, I just do not think it is worth the cost at this point. The second way is to connect the headset to the computer via the Quest 3 application, which is called airlink I believe, it also requires an excellent wifi connection but is not as strong as the virtual desktop. The third way to connect is via a USB direct connection to your p.c. to do this you need a special cable. Special because it needs to be able to handle at least 2.5gb through put. Any more questions let me know.

Not sure what is the best way for wifi. Maybe this d link wifi dongle connected to your pc. Its weird that a link cable is not better than wifi. Actually have DCS up and running now, pretty decent, even with not so good wifi. Only when i enable the hands in Cockpit, the controls start to lag a lot. Without hands and using the mouse, things are smooth
