It's crazy to think how if Geoff Bodine didn't win that race, Hendrick Motorsports wouldn't even exist.
He was the original Hendrick driver.
The literal definition of checkers or wreckers. I'm grateful Hendrick exists today. Just think about how many drivers may have not even raced or made history. Jeff Gordon, Jimmie, Dale, Larson, Chase, Busch etc. Even if you don't like Hendrick. You have to be grateful for what this team means to a lot of people and NASCAR in general.
Naw all them guys would have raced still. You probably would have Jeff Gordon and ray owning a race team today together and ray would take ricks spot
I will always be a Hendrick motorsports fan
It is interesting to note, that when NASSCAR did a video celebrating Hendrick's 200 Cup wins, they didn't mention Geoff Bodine!
sad nascar hates bodine i guess. he doesnt get the recognition he deserves in the sport.
The Yankee Geoff Bodine brought 2 thing to the South, Power Steering and Full Face Helmet.
Geoff is a hometown area driver with his bros. Geoff doesnt get the recognition he deserves in Nascar.
This needs to be made into a movie, oh wait. Days of Thunder lol
DoT is based somewhat on Sr and Bodines rivalry.
@@bighand1530 Netflix or Hulu
my man saved an entire team and a bunch of talents and survived a really bad crash in 2000
❤i love those 80s floor model console 😍
Now this is some pure, unpasteurized, Grade A cheese.
This would be a phenomenal movie
I'm pretty sure they already made one.
@@chuckfinley4757 , would love to know. It is NOT Days of Thunder......
@@SDCBMS Yeah, it is.
@@chuckfinley4757 , Days of Thunder is about Tim Richmond.....
@@SDCBMS Rowdy Burns is Dale Earnhardt, Harry Hogge is Harry Hyde, Tim Dalan is Rick Hendrick, Fred Thompson is Bill France, City Chevrolet is literally Hendrick's dealership.
Just a chance race at Martinsville kept Hendrick and Geoff Bodine racing after their first cup win together. Rick was about to give up after a couple of bad finishes and Hyde told him that Geoff had success at Martinsville. Hyde was right.
This is the moment true story about Hendrick Motorsports couldn’t give up this team, but we will to recreate history of NASCAR and Hendrick Motorsports did they making all the way to the championship contenders to rebuild legacy.
0:05 Unfortunately, the future is not so bright for All-Star Racing and owner Rick Hendrick. Geoff Bodine and their #5 Chevrolet were unable to finish after two multi-car wrecks here at Darlington.
0:16 Harry Hyde and Rick Hendrick chat about heading for Martinsville Speedway
Great video!
And they became the winningest team in this history of NASCAR.
300 Wins!!!!!
2023 Hendrick has more race wins than any other owner
I couldn't be more proud to be an Hendrick Motorsports fan. I'm even more proud that it was the #24 car that gave him his 300th career win as an Owner. Very appropriate IMO. That #24 car accounts for 103 of those win
How fitting is this upload
Great video
Fate's a powerful thing
Weird because this was only their 8th race. Plus they already had 3 Top 10s in their first 7 races, including 8th at Daytona, yet had no money.
Lol. Yeah it was/is cheap to compete in the top stock car series….
Appreciate your comment 🙏. Thanks
Did Bodine’s car pass the post race inspection tho?
Post race inspection? They didn’t have those in the 80s just pre race inspection then send em
@@Jakeoff17 that’s the joke, it is a Hendricks car we are talking about here
City Chevrolet !
Yo soy NASCAR 🏆🏆🏆🏁🇲🇽🇲🇽⛽🏎️🏎️🏎️🏳️
Does anyone know how true this is? Great Story
I hope I can fulfill my dream of becoming a NASCAR racer😁
Hall of fame driver
Just extra daramatic
And the win that started scandals later.
I’d rather have a scandal than no career for Jeff Gordon, Jimmie, and Dale Jr at JGR lol
Rick was not the only felon in NASCAR.
@@zippoflint8688 Haas.
It's amazing how Gene Haas, and four partners, plead guilty to tax fraud, witness intimidation, and conspiracy, then spent 16 months in federal prison and the entire sport pretends it never happened. If a team gets caught with an illegal part people hold it against them forever.
First
Too bad they didn't fail.
Cry babies are not race fans.
Painful to watch this.
So this was before rick lied about being sick to get a pardon.
Oh lord
We all would have been a lot better off if Geoff had blown up that day.
Sorry, but that was corny and cheesy . Could have done a better job.
I agree
