You have perfect timing. I've started back doodling (I'm no artist, but I do like to doodle). I needed to figure out how to bend over those sharp edges of a can for my pens and pencils. Thank you so much for telling how to do that. I love these decorating ideas too. I like the sequins and braids so much too.

You can also take a manual can opener to the edge and it’ll pop right out if there

SSSSOOOO PRETTY!! I've also used some thicker plan cording to rap things in. On 1 jar I did, the cord was a bit frayed so I took a lighter and burned the freys off.... The look was awesome.
I gave it for a gift to my sister. She used it as a good pen holder for her desk.
Stay safe, you do you, and stay crafty 👍👍🛎️🛎️🦋🦋

I love them all and it’s inspired me to get out all my tin cans and start them again. I think I too will do some herbs in some of them. Such a great idea since I only have a small area on my small porch this will fit in nicely. I also loved you lighthearted sense of humor as well. Very nicely done. I’ll be subscribing and waiting for your next upload.

I used this idea for my colored pencils! I have a can for each color and then I painted them in an ombre style of whatever color pencil was going to go in it and then added glitter top the tops and bottoms using the same method you did. Only once I was done with the glitter I also took some mode podge and gently painted that over the glitter to make sure it stays!

Those came out really lovely Steve. I really liked how you decorated them. My favourite was the sequined one.
I reckon they will look great with herbs in, in the spring. God bless you and all of those you love.

I momentarily freaked out because you have red paint on your hands, and you had just mentioned cutting your hand the last time! I think the silver one is my favoyrite, too, although I'm usually a fan of more rustic things in my own home. I'd live to see how the chevron band is made!

I would recommend you buy a can opener that does a lateral cut. This way you get no sharp edges on the cans you want to upcycle.

If you turn your can opener sideways to the can instead of like usual it will cut the lid off with no sharp lip! My mom showed me this little life hack just last week!

you need a different can opener. the one I use cuts the lid off and there's no sharp edges. it cuts the side, not the top like yours does

I’m more worried about you getting tetanus from those horribly rusted pliers! Take a piece of steal wool or a wire brush to those things! :) you could put them in some vinegar and let them soak for a bit and then clean them up with a wire brush or steal wool :)
